Multipolarity II - Game Thread

I'll get the Tylenol.

The Formatting Crew would like to take this time to thank Katter for its assistance and formally laugh at Oz. Ha ha.

Katter is a defender of Battler Nations.

-

Katter sat in his office signing mundane documents and reading boing old reports that no reasonable person would have any interest in. The ozian ambassador was to arrive for a visit soon, and Katter was anticipating the coming conversation.

"My Lord, the Ambassador is here"

Katter smiled as the ambassador was led in to his office. The man was portly, moustachioed and somewhat smelling of wine, and proceeded to thank Katter for his assistance against the formatics, stating that the assimilation of the five granted provinces should go swimmingly. Katter took off his hat and decided to make his point.

-

"Ah Ambassador, Im sure the assimilation will go swimmingly. But there is one tiny, little problem I have to bring up with you. You see Katterland did sign that treaty which said we wouldn't colonise certain parts of southern Australia and we hold to that, we follow out treaties by the letter, but I'm afraid Katterland cannot condone Ozian aggression against an innocent, battler nation, and without any justification whatsoever. You see we just wouldn't feel safe with your nation metaphorically lurking about in the knowledge of your aggressive tendencies, and our arrangement said nothing about Katterland attacking the Formatics. I would also add that the impression of unreliability Oz gave when it failed to uphold a certain treaty several years ago was not welcomed in my court, its so difficult to trust someone when you never know when they will deliver."

-

The ambassadors mouth opened slightly, presumably he was attempting to speak, but words were so difficult to form considering his rapidly rising sense of terror. Katterland was continuing to speak, on how strategically it just didn't make sense to leave Katterlands only strong rival on the continent to gain power at the Formatics expense, and how it would be out of character for Katter to refrain from assisting poor battlers just trying to make a living. The Ambassador noticed at that point the television in the next room showcasing Katterlands march into Oz, without any resistance...

-

"So Ambassador, I regret to inform you that Katterland declares war on Oz, on the basis of Oz's unjustifiable war with the Formatics, on treaty with the formatics to assist them in the conflict and in order to reclaim the ancestral lands of my dynasty which your nation has so egregiously occupied for so long. My apologies that the hour is late."

-

Katter smiled as the Ambassador made his loud protestations, and then sent him away with a simple "Thankyou, come again", while on his eastern border the legions of Katterland marched east to the coast for theglory of their great and powerful King.

ooc: Salarian military doctrine at its finest :p Katter always did agree that cutting off the head of the serpent before it could strike made sound strategic sense.

I wasn't aware serpents HAD hands.

ooc: they don't any more ;)

Anyways with Oz's emasculation, Katterland would be willing to accept its unconditional surrender to Katterland. Afterall its only hope for anything better than short term survival is to try and claim a new capital (presumably the formatics) and insodoing reconstitute some sense of stability while simultaneously crippling the Formatic front. Considering he didn't manage to capture the capital of the Formatics with a 6 to 1 advantage, thats a tough ask I would think ;)

That's not Salarian military doctrine as they would not even declare war, just invade.

And anyway, Partitionania condemns the Katterland invasion of Oz, and wishes for peace and stability to one day return to the region.

ooc: i declared war after the fact, I did indeed just invade ;) The RP declaration to the ambassador occured after the invasion began, and mainly because I wanted to RP on the matter to give my reason for entering the war.

-

IC: Katterland is disgusted at Partitionias support for aggressor regimes such as Oz and for its callous disregard of facts to serve its own interests.

Katterland, where the rest of the world failed to act or even support financially or diplomatically the Formatic Empire in any way, has come to the assistance of the innocent defender party in this struggle against Oz, which Katterland notes invaded the Formatic Empire without A SINGLE shred of justification in a blatant war of aggression precisely in order to end the threat of a dangerous source of conflict in the region, and bring just retribution to Oz for its gross misdeeds.

It is incongruous and absurd that Partitionia would condemn Katterland for defending a poor battler nation against the very bully who began the conflict to begin with, and who we also note occupies (or rather occupied) lands that traditionally belong to Katter.

We condemn the Katterland invasion for one reason, it brings more bloodshed to the people of Australia. This is not about protecting a nation, it's about ensuring peace in the region. We wish Oz and the Formatters would agree to a peace treaty but overall stability and peace is more important, even if that peace comes at the cost of the Formatter state. All Katterland is doing is bringing more warfare to an already war-torn land.

Katterland is bringing more peace and stability to the region by removing the aggressor from the equation. Partitionia would leave the Formatic Empire to the wolves in the name of stability and peace, yet the party that is the cause of instability and violence would remain and almost certainly bring further suffering in the future. It is disturbingly hypocritical how Partitionia would plead t serve the cause of peace, yet would happilly see the innocent party cease to be while the aggressor gains, survives, and continues in it ways.

Katterland is the one who is serving the cause of peace here by euthanising Oz before it can expand its violent ways beyond its current chew-toy..

ooc: India and China have lots of provinces (sichuan/yunnan region in southern interior of China is fairly open), and could use extra players. North America and Europe are also perhaps reasonable options.

USSR

The USSR applauds Katterland for taking action and liberating the Formatic Empire. We scoff at the foolish capitalists who allowed themselves to be crushed. Oz had it coming, after all.

Join timeless, just not near Russia. :)

I suggest you join in China, there's not enough Chinese countries at the moment.

OCC: Join Australia. :p

No, just joking, whatever you do, DON'T do that.

ooc: theres no room in Australia NC ;)

OOC: ah, it's nice to see that people act the way you think. It's a clear sign you can follow their trail of thought :)

IC:I have heard that they reserve a special place in hell for manipulating, backstabbing, two-faced <etc. etc.> traitors.

Oz would like to present the world with this document. In which they can find Oz's justification for their attack and Katters involvement. Judge as you will.

Just informing you that the Formatics have been attempting to sidle up to Katter and gain political support. First a non-aggression pact, then a private statement that they would support Katter in any war he may consider engaging in against Oz!

Katter believes that the Formatics are attempting to bring him onside in a war against Oz. This of course is absurd, Katter supports peaceful co-operation amongst the nations and peaceful resolutions to problems.

As such, Katter proposes that this turn, alongside the cession of certain lands to resolve our border dispute, that Oz militarily engages in a pre-emptive strike against the Formatics under the justification of that nation engaging in politically hostile behaviour.

Katter can then, under the pretext of supporting our Ozian ally intervene in the next turn to overwhelm the already battered formatic resistance and finish the partition of the continent along lines aforementioned.

Do you agree this is a good idea?

oh, and USSR; you're a hypocrite.

OOC:
Oh, I forgot Uprisings. All about them.

They are now in effect; Oz retroactively loses some stuff.

Let hilarity ensue next turn.
Not to nitpick or anything, but shouldn't Katter lose some stuff either, they hold conquered provinces to, if I'm not mistaken

Clearly a forgery from a defeated adversary trying to make sense of his total defeat.

ooc:

example of how easy it is to forge things in the spoiler. Also as to a screenie, a simple way to forge them is to cut out the avatar section of the person your forging from an old PM of theirs, and cut out an old date from a message you've kept. Then simply send a fake PM to yourself, cutting out the more recent date, and your own avatar and replacing them with the other persons avatar, and the old date. Takes about five minutes, presuming you know how to cut and paste neatly. Just saying this, because I always find it stupid how people post PMs and expect people to take them as absolute truth with some people indeed actually presuming its absolutely true. I mean as an example I know I forged a screenie and gave it to someone in another game once, and it served my purposes quite nicely :P

A Proposal

To Katter:

Do you think that a joint war with the Formatics is a good idea? Im sure you'll agree that a partition of Australia is in both of our interests. If we jointly attack the Formatics theres no way they can stand against us. Surely working together against a common enemy is worthwhile?

What do you say?

~ Mayor

and as to the nitpick. I've only just conquered the lands (EDIT: indeed I only actually conquered 5 provinces, the rest either were granted by you, or voluntarily defected to Katterland), whereas you on the other hand lost your capital and almost all of your homeland to me and are occupying 10 hostile Formatic provinces that you militarily conquered. Ergo its only reasonable to assume that the subjugated native formatics (who in terms of provinces outnumber your lands 5 to 1) will be revolting against you considering you only have two home provinces to gain support from, and considering its pretty clear your being owned.
