Multipolarity III - Game Thread

The Imperium request they reconsider placing the Crusaders on the no-trade list. The Crusaders of Sinai are allies to His Holiness. As such to make a no trade law to the Crusaders is against holy directives. The Spammers have no authority to interfear with the trade of the Pope and his followers. The Imperium will suugest the Spammers reconsider their diplomatic policies.

In relative news we will be setting the Cheif Imperial Advisor, Thomas Abelson, to the newly formed Union of Guinea so that we can talk trade policies with the new power, in hope of ensuring this new power as a friend to the Empire and the Papal States. We especilly hope to talk about the trading of chemicals, especilly as our development in chemicals is going well.

If the Pope doesn't want to stop trading with Sinai then he simply can vote against the proposal (once he is a member) or refuse to join HITSGDP. And no, we're not going to let the nation who couped our ally get away with couping our allies' allies. And because we know that the Fiefdom of Mann has no control over Papal diplomatic policy, we will ignore the yapping of the Pope's caged poodle.

Also, does anyone have any idea who set us all up the bomb (I.e built a nuke) because we should find them and stop them. Otherwise all our base might are belong to them.

For starters: we are the Imperium of Man. The Pope is above emperors, kings and presidents: we are still worthy of our title, especilly as we are a grand nation unlike the joke that is your goverment.

Seconds: the couping is ensuring of order. They do not matter on the note of the nation and are in fact simple power play. All nations are guilty of power play; only His Holiness is clean of such sins. As such if you wish the Crusaders to be banned from trading then you should make it that all powers barring the Pope are banne from being trade with, including you!

Third: we are willing to defend the Crusaders, diplomatically and by other means! However we like peace and we heed the words of His Holiness: we suggest that the County of the Spammers understand this or we may increase the penalty for spamming in the Imperium from "labour camp" to "cutting of tounge and labour camp."

If there are any chemical weapons leaving or entering Manx I will invade and destroy them.

In regards to the Sinai Crusaders on the no trade list, the UK doesn't think they have done anything to warrant being put on the no trade list and, if they are placed there, the United Kingdom will ignore the directive and continue trading anyways.

We instead counterpropose that the Spammers be put on the no trade list for spreading rumors about a foreign nation and illegally intervening in Byzantine affairs.

Are you even part of HITSGDP? Anyway, we believe that our cacus belli for couping Byzantine was legitimate. If our peers within and outside of HITSGDP decide otherwise then we will take the consequences like men.

The Holy See notes that the Spammer proposal to place Sinai on the no-trade list is quite self-evidently absurd, and is based on circumstantial evidence at best, with nothing tangible proving that the coups were anything other than indigenous in origin, with the new regimes associating themselves with the Crusaders out of their own geostrategic interests.

We would urge various nations as such to reconsider their policies on this question, afterall the Spammers Crusade has an obvious geostrategic rivalry with the Crusaders thus providing a motive for what is tantamount to an economic attack on that nation, and as your governments should well be aware, such action is almost certainly likely to increase the chances of war in the middle east, and due to the efforts of the Spammers we'd hasten to add, rather than any hostility of the Crusaders to the Spammer State. This being quite contrary to the organisations stated goal of peace.

Ergo, we vote no presuming membership in the association, and would urge other states to reconsider their own positions.

Humans, men and women, are by nature selfish and sinful. It is the will of the Lord and of the state to save them from themselfs. You cleary are not a fuctional state. You should repent in the name of the Lord and be saved from eternal damnation!

An emperor is not someone who holds a few mangy islands and a few square kilometers of desert. The Manx Principality is far from deserving of the title "emperor."

I am not part of whatever HITSGDP stands for and have no wish to be, I am merely expressing that, if you want to get your measly little power bloc to stop trading with the Crusaders because he couped a nation, then you probably should not have couped it right back. Otherwise, that same reason applies directly to you.

And everyone believes that their coup is "legitimate;" I'm sure that the Crusaders, if they have indeed coup'd any nations, thought it was quite a legitimate course of action.

The Imperium of Man or the Empire of Man is the correct title for the Manx nation.

The Manx Imperium ensure that there chemical programs are peaceful and that the chemical plants near our researh facility is just for the purpose of developing shower gell for imperial marines.

In relative news be sure to buy our new sun protection creams! Specially set to protect your skin from the hot sun!

Firstly, no matter how you put it, you are a basically a vassal of the Papal States thus calling yourself an imperium is plain silly.

Secondly, we consider the mass couping of otherwise stable nations against the interests of world peace. It's the kind of thing HITSGDP was invented to stop.

Thirdly, that's real nice, take the grevances that you have against us out on your people. We are putting the Feifdom of Mann back on our embargo list, but not the Papal States. We like them, but not their choice of vassals. Also, this is my personal list, I am not advocating that HITSGDP goes after them.

The Papal States, as suzerain of the Imperium of Mann requests that the Imperium of Manns diplomatic service refrain from further dialogue in the international arena, in accordance with the principle of the clientisation arrangement within which Manx foreign policy is subordinated to the policy of the Papal States, in order that nothing problematic for either party may come to be.

Continuing to invoke international discontent has the potential consequence of forfeiture of papal protection, dependant on the judgement of His Holiness. Which we note would be detrimental to the Imperiums continued existence due to the threat of its adversaries, and its military dependance upon our armed forces.

First: we are a vassal of the Pope yes. The thing is the Pope is above the state: emperors are vassels to the Pope for that should be the way of things.

Second: you should heed the words of the Pope.

Third: the domestic concerns of the state is for the state, not external sources like your nation. We suggest you cease your embargo.

We will heed this but we request that you condem the Spammers for their embargo.

The circumstancial evidence is as strong as the circumstancial evidence linking smoking and cancer. As we have stated before, mass couping of clients will surely lead to war. Sinai must be shown that what they are doing will not be taken lightly. And we beleive that any war between us and Sinai would be entirely their doing. We would not go to war with anyone unless we had a very good reason.

Papal Message to the HITSGDP (and New Zealand)
...
With regards to New Zealand as well, considering both our nations appear unwilling to forfeit claims. The Holy See suggests that a partition of the claimed territories is the most satisfactory solution, and the most equitable compromise.

To the Kingdom of the Fishies (and the Papacy)

It seem's self evident that the Kingdom of the Fishies should continue to trade with New Zealand.

With regards to the Papacy as well, New Zealand would wish that it not be treated as a subset of an organisation to which it has no association. In future kindly adress your correspondance to us, or do not attempt to contact us at all.

Foreign Minister Blunder McGaffe

Whilst not being a member of HITSGDP, the UKNZ would like to point out that once your alliance begins to turn its attention to non-warmonger states you lose the moral high ground and become simply another power block doing its best to economically cripple its rivals. Should such a thing occur, it would not be unexpected for your alliance to find itself caught in a cold war with some other alliance that might spring up for the purpose of defending its members from your actions. We reccomend strongly that this is not a course of action you should be taking.

In my eyes, Couping = Warring. I'm surprised that this is not an international view.

A coup d'état implies the destabilisation of a whole country and a change of regime which may greatly alter the foreign policy of said country, resulting in consecutive levels of destabilisation in a global scale. This is why Japan sees it as a terrible course of action deserve of severe punishment.

We would not go to war with anyone unless we had a very good reason.

As has been noted by the United Kingdom, the Spammers Crusade is hardly innocent of using covert means to encourage change in nations it deems important to its strategic interests. Regardless, even should it turn out that Sinai was involved in Byzantiums internal affairs, our own foreign policy assesments dictate that placing an embargo on Sinai as the Spammers (who we have noted have a geostrategic stake against Sinai) suggest would be counter-productive to long-term peace in the region, and would only encourage further hostilities.

The Papal States also notes that the relationship between between the Spammers and its clients is entirely a matter for the parties involved. the Holy See sees little reason for other powers to get involved in an embargo, and indeed thinks that it is merely a punitive exercise aimed at punishment rather than a genuine resolution to the conflict of interests that exists in the middle east. It would be far superior for the Spammers Crusade to engage in dialogue with Sinai over its percieved conflicts with Spammer interests, rather than to engage in vindictive measures that will only excacerbate the problem.

One final thing. The Holy See has a defensive pact with Sinai, should the Spammers be the one to initiate and/or incite hostilities leading to war with the State of Sinai the Holy See will consider it a declaration of war against the Papal States and react accordingly (and vice versa with regards to an attack by Sinai on the Spammers Crusade, presuming it did not incite the attack of course, considering we also have a DP)

Indonesia thirds the motion to put the Crusaders on the no-trade list. That leaves Solitude.
HITSGDP Businesses:

Docket #1: The Papal States Application
Given that their position on world peace. Solitude sees no harm in approving the Papal State's application into HITSGDP.

Docket #2: Crusaders of Sinai
We forth the motion. Though we should encourage to add in a time limit and/or conditions to lift the no-trade status on them.

Docket #3: Guinea
We support the motion to remove them from the list.

Docket #4: Japan's Proposal
We Second the motion on temporary quarantine a nation that has undergone a coup.

To the Office of the Papacy
From the Ministry of External Affairs, Guinea

Salutations from the united nations of Guinea. It has come to our attention that your state has recently expressed a pressing desire for retribution in the wake of ideologically-motivated persecution against a minority group at the hands of the recently-ousted government(s) of the Romney Republic and National Socialist Regime of Africa. In the interest of ameliorating the lingering emotions engendered by these incidents, the government of Guinea offers to extradite a number of officials we have apprehended and interrogated for their collaborative roles in activities of questionable ethical and legal standing. We hope this act will be the first in an affirmation of Guinea's new course in international waters.

Cordially yours,

Walther Hewel
Minister of External Affairs

Oh right there are 3 nations with nukes now.

We instead counterpropose that the Spammers be put on the no trade list for spreading rumors about a foreign nation and illegally intervening in Byzantine affairs.

OOC: The HITSGDP no trade list is only binding on its member states. :p

Docket #4: Japan's Proposal
We Second the motion on temporary quarantine a nation that has undergone a coup.

Tallying up the votes:

-Papacy ascends to HITSGDP membership, presumably with Poland and Manx as well.
-Guinea is removed from the no-trade list.
-Policy of quarantining new governments established.

Pending:

-Vote on embargoing Crusaders. Currently out of custom the HITSGDP's decisions are determined by one nation, one vote; this gives great influence to the Papacy. It is suggested that at some point a formal decision be made that controls how voting power is in the organisation.

HITSGDP Clout

Papacy - 11
Japan - 4
Solitude - 4
Spammers - 3
Indonesia - 2
Manx - 3
Poland - 2

Minors - 7

Total members - 36. Papal clout - 16/36 or 11/31.

The motion to embargo the Crusaders passes; as the founding charter of the organisation is meant to make embargoes binding (so as to outdo the UN and its farcical non-binding resolutions), it is probable the Papacy shall withdraw.

Alright, got a moment to reply here.

These allegations are ill-founded at best, and completely rediculous at worst. Lets review everything about this whole ordeal.
Two nations, formerly allied to the countries known internationally as Japan and the Crusade, have undergone coups against the previous backers, in favor of Sinai. The two major powers now seek international damnation of Sinai for being the supposed plotter of these coups, despite no evidence to support their claim and reasons of heavy weight against them.

That's about right, yes? We just want to make sure we are reading all of this correctly.

Now in case you can't figure how utterly rediculous the claim and the call for damnation is, I will explain. Firstly, and most obviously, there is absolutely no proof existing that Sinai had anything to do with these coups. These coups are very random, yes, but theses allegations have literally no weight. Secondly, say Sinai did in fact back these coups. Let's think about what we have to lose. With these coups, Sinai has made enemies for doing nothing with two, possibly three great powers. These couped countries, excepting Buzantium for obvious reasons, have no strategic value in accordinance to Sinai's interests. They are completely random.

And the first thing that comes to mind is that Sinai perpetrated these coups despite being entirely illogical.

Right. This makes sense.
