As I said during the nominations; I would run, except my platform would be so similar to some of the other candidates that there is really no point and doing so would just split the vote.

The Imperium of Man need remind His Holiness that we are vessel by word of God, not in a mear political relation. Popes are above emperors after all. However we are in desire to note that foreign affairs is a right we process: we are a empire after all. Counts answer to dukes who answer to kings or that which kings/archdukes answer to: emperors, who answer to the Pope who answer to God. We do not murder: we execute. And we execute with good reason. However the majority of our criminals we do not execute: we set many to labour camps to redeem themselves. We reserve execution for the most serius of cases. The issue of the spammers was a political warning to the Spammer Crusader (ever trying to bring the chaotic forces) that we do not bow to their threats to the Pope (the execution threat came from a embargo threat against His Holiness) and we are generally very set to preserve justice.
Would you call the killing of the Blood Empire forces that attacked your nation murder? We are tackling criminals who are just as ill as the Blood Empire and its residence.
Elected does not mean democracy. It is a case of the holy elites choosing from consideration to the Holy Word a figure to lead the Faithful. Not a case of having the uneducated being set to make power decisions or worse the forces of chaos hyjacking soceity so they can destroy it from within. We are strong on our values.

Elected is kind of the definition of democracy. The citizens of the Papal States may not elect the Pope, but the curia does... Unless I am fundamentally misunderstanding how the Papacy works.
