Two new reactor-breeder hybrid reactors have been built in the Californian region in Solitude's new settlement near. Most noteabllaly the three reactor complex in Navarro, soon to be coined the Navarro Nuclear Power complex. The engineers at Navarro have set up design plans for the next generation of nuclear hybrid reactor-breeder designs that submerges the reactor core under water and have set up plans to construct the second generation of Reactor-Breeder hybrids in New Reno within the next years.
Mayacamas Mountains, The Geysers
About 72 miles north of San Francisco, the Solitude Rangers have discovered an abandoned geothermal complex located in the Mayacamas Mountains. It's speculated that the remoteness of the facility on the mountains have left it untouched and unnoticed by the previous civilization that was present in the area, the Hawaiians. Engineers from the Republic has set out to restore The Geysers to full working order and add to the power grid in the Southwestern region along with the Navarro Nuclear Power Complex and future restored power plants. The Geysers marks the first Geothermal Power Plant within Solitude.
Solitude Congressional Building, Solitude
In a joint session of Congress, President Hanna Antillies made a speech on the
Religious Freedom Restoration Bill. She stood next to the Senate President and the Speaker of the House. "Just a few months ago, I took a trip to the Cathedral ruins of St. Joseph after the Coronation of Emperor Magnus Flanagan to reflect on the question of the freedom of religion in this nation. Many of you know that during the race for the General Secretariat, the government openly stated that there doctrine was incomparable with our ideology and policies. As a result left a rift between the Republic and the Holy See, which further grew apathy towards the Catholic denomination. Apathy that grew from circulating myths within the vaults."
"I've attended my first Mass that was first celebrated in the ruins of the Cathedral of St. Joseph, which gave me a look at inside the practices of the Catholic religion. I've found that it doesn't conflict with any of our ideologies and policies. Instead, I found that our own idea of the Catholic doctrine being incompatible with our own ideologies and policies, which goes against the First Amendment of the Constitution which guarantees the freedom of religion. Instead, we've taken steps to ensure complete separation of church and state by making our politicians leave their religious beliefs at the doorstep."
Hanna raises the paper that contains the bill that she is proposing to be passed in the legislature "This bill, that I am proposing to the floor of congress, sets the course for the government to ease up on restriction of religious beliefs of governmental officials. It also adds in the provision that it also lifts restriction on religious beliefs and expression in public life." Hanna takes a deep breath and scans the seats of congress, each filled with representatives from the upper and lower house "I will be the first Solitudian to confess that I'm a Non-Denominational Christian. I'm sure many of you want to confess your own faiths but were afraid to do so because of our hardline stance on separation of church and state." The senators and representatives look at one another, then one by one, each stood up stating their belief, some stating they belong to a particular denomination of Christianity such as Protestants or Catholics, some expressed a non-alignment position of Christianity (Non-Denominational). Even Jewish politicians stood up to state their beliefs as well as some Mahayana Buddhists and some who don't hold a belief.
The bill itself was passed unanimously in both the House and the Senate and eventually made it to Hanna's office a week later. She immediately signed it into law thus making the bill into an act. The Supreme Court observed the process and declared that the law in itself, does not contradict nor conflicts with the Constitution in anyway. Chief Justice Kennith Otis stated "The Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 2503, grants the freedom of worship and beliefs to all Solitudian citizens. The law itself lifts the restriction for government officials and citizens to leave their beliefs at the door. I have held council with my fellow justices and agreed this law is constitutional. I applaud President Hanna Antilles for taking the initiative to place forward a bill that restores civil liberties to the religious while not favoring one religion over another."
Solitude White House
President Hanna Antilles was relaxing in the Green Room of the Solitude White House. She has been reading the party adnouncement sent from the Imperium of Man and have been pondering to attend the birthday celebration of Magnus and Denel. Hanna thought to herself "What business does a Republic have attending a party that has a majority of monarchs and sovereigns?" Hanna stood up and walked to the windows of the Green Room and pondered on. She then calls her secretary to have a fine cut of Amethyst from the mines of California to be sent to the Imperium of Man as a gift on behalf of the Republic to the new Monarch.
Hanna wrote to Lord Mayor Thomas Abelson of Liverpool "While we're a representative republic with no royal family, I've decided on behalf of the Republic of Solitude to present you a gift of a large fine cut amethyst gemstone from the mines of California. We hope that relations between Solitude and the Imperium of Man continues to improve. As President of Solitude, I'd like to request to be present to the party celebration."
