Japan too sees that Blood atrocities have gone too far, and will support the motion to lift the embargo on Namibia.

I propose we put the Blood Empire on the do not trade list in light of their recent atrocities shown.

They already are, iirc.

Fight for the Motherland:

''This year, O brave Namibian Soldiers, we have won a Great victory!! We have crushed the invaders, who have occupied our nation and have killed our citizens. Now only a few of them remain. Victory will be at last ours!!!

However, even as the invaders retreat, they kill our brothers and sisters. They kill, rape and loot. They have become nothing more than animals. So do not be afraid of them! Because real men always win scared animals!!!

One final offensive and the motherland will be free!!''

- Speech of Hifikepunye Pohamba to the Namibian Soldiers

Indonesia also backs the repeal of the embargo on Namibia. Indonesia also announces that it shall be willing to commit troops should Mozambique's sovereignity be threatened. However, Namibia has full right to retake the lands that are rightfully its own.

Hyontou is honored to cast its first vote as a member of the HITSGDP, and also agrees to lift the embargo on Namibia.

These are only the failed ops; successful ones are not acknowledged publicly. To speed along updates, ops no longer grant experience. This also prevents snowballing.

Steal navy tech from Japan – failure (3x).

It occurs to me NGO Black Ops were missed. However I’m so far along in the update the amount of rewinding required would be ludicrous. As such, all NGOs credited with +50 Espionage tech.

==Unrest==

A huge surge in discontent has been reported, more and more citizens demanding that a people’s war be fought by a people’s government. Libertarians, left and right, have put aside economic differences to increasingly call for the country’s leadership to step down and hold free elections. It is in Namibia’s most desperate hour where the opportunity for change is strongest.

Mass riots have once more broken out in occupied Russia, with outside sources clearly funding the resistance. 2,000 soldiers and 23,000 civilians have perished, while much industry has also been destroyed. Polish resistance forces have even conducted attacks on government targets as far inland as Volgograd, showing that this resistance is no longer contained to one region. While some Russians begin to question the benefits of keeping Poland occupied, most still support the government’s position of keeping Russia the world’s foremost demographic power.

A coup in the Berber Republic has replaced Jak with Kor. Kor has declared fealty to Granada.

A coup in Egypt has replaced Moses with Ramses, who declares allegiance to Japan.

Avast me hearties! We’ve received payment of 80 gold from an unknown client to strike Spammer shipping! The resulting battle sends 5 Spammer fleets to Davy Jones’ Locker! Arrr!

Hmmmm... yay? Is Egypt a somehow relevant power?

It was also a client of your ally, the Spammers. :mischief:

Exchange rates axed. GNP/capita will instead be useful for determining the likelihood of your people getting a wee bit antsy.

The International Merchant Association, governing body of the neutral markets, says they will be accepting bids on the goods they hold. Please specify whether you want energy or raw materials; goods will be allocated based on percentage of the total bids. If you bid 10 gold and everyone else bids 90, that's 100 gold and you get 10% of the pot.

Summary

In Africa, the Namibs have won a decisive victory over the Blood Empire, pushing them to the shores of South Africa. The HITSGDP, outraged over large-scale slaughter of Namibs by the Sanguine forces, have lifted their embargo.

More noticeable is a thawing of relations not yet seen since the Frozen War of legend. Mere months after the fall of Gaydolf Hitler’s regime, a much less hardline dictatorship has seen normalization of relations with numerous major powers. The embargo on Guinea has been overturned, and numerous Guinea allies are now lending their economic weight to the HITSGDP.

With the ascension of the Papacy, Hyontou, and much of the former Romneysphere to the HITSGDP, 47% of the global GDP backs the initiative, making warmongering effectively suicidal. Including Poland and Manx, subordinates of the Papacy, 49 of the world’s 94 nation-states are formally or informally part of the alliance.

So great is the clout of HITSGDP that its targets have begun to discuss among themselves. The ARMS Treaty has been signed by Sinai, Aden and Malay, and it is presumed Russia shall soon join in. They have even formed an exclusive market, denying resources to many HITSGDP members.

As possibilities of a Cold War between pacifists and warmongers rise, Canada’s government has collapsed in recent elections, and Cascadia has seized an enormous victory in the chaos, with all the lands they occupy being sworn off by the Treaty of Vancouver.

Russian and Polish forces continue to irregularly clash in Eastern Europe, with tens of thousands perishing each year in the violence. With Finland now split in two, it is very possible Russia may soon find itself fighting on multiple fronts, and in a struggle with the Papacy for dominance of the continent.

A string of coups has been deemed suspicious by the HITSGDP membership, and despite the Papacy’s opposition, nearly all other members cast their votes for putting Sinai on the no-trade list until it ends its ties with Shanghai and Bengal.

Border Disputes

New Zealand-Papacy: 2

Neither side has shown any sight of budging, each claiming the other should turn it over. Hilarity – and anger - ensued over some of the arguments in the two states’ governments, naturally.

Events

Assimilation! 1 Somali province is now Adeni. 1 Ethiopian province is Adeni. 4 Polish provinces are now Russian. 1 Manx province is now Netherscottish. 1 Amazonian province is now Colombian.

Refugees! More people flee the Namibian, Polish and Finnish war zones.

An epidemic has swept through Russia’s communities, killing 34,000 people. The extremely poor development of the country has been blamed.

Several trade vessels have deserted Namibia due to its lack of a navy, and instead have defected to Guinea.

Low inflation has spurred investment in Granada and Guinea. New Zealand and Solitude’s peaceful stances and low tax rates have also made them attractive despite the inflation.

With the crushing defeat in South Africa and the HITSGDP’s siding with the Namibians, more and more Sanguine citizens are protesting the government and demanding an end to the war.

The Russian people are reported to be protesting more frequently against the Polish occupation, believing cutting the region into puppet states would be better policy.

Uprisings

Every turn occupation damage is dealt to an occupier; 1 army per 5 provinces, and 0.05 Industry per province. This is default; actual triggered rebellions can intensify the effects.

Aden loses 1 army, Russia loses 5 armies, Blood Empire loses 1 army, Malay loses 1 army, Netherscotland loses 1 army.

Union of Nations

The UN continues to remain useless while the HITSGDP paves the way for global peace.

For 2505-2509, the General Secretary is the Papacy.

Being elected as general Secretary grants 100 influence points. Deputies earn 10 points per term.

2506: Aden / Japan
2507: Solitude / Guinea
2508: Aden / Sinai

Is Egypt part of the HITSGDP?

Eeeyup. :p Was under Spamingrad rule and still is under you.

We wish the Japanese government to show good faith and abandon this new Egyptian government to show that you had nothing to do with this coup. We wouldn't want there to be an incident...

The Government of Namibia shall hold this year free elections at the areas that are not under threat (those that do not border the Vampires of Mozambique). Also it will free all political prisoners.

Communism exists to serve the people, not oligarchies.

Following the established protocols, Egypt must be temporarily suspended from HITSGDP membership. We would rather Egypt hold a plebiscite among its people to check which alliance they prefer or if they prefer to be left alone. As such a faraway country, Egypt is of no direct strategic interest, and we have no problem to cut these most direct ties with its government is their people want us to do so.

How did my income manage to decrease?

Most opposition leaders have asked their followers to hold back on demonstration pending action by the government in light of its new promise.

How did my income manage to decrease?

You were placed on the HITSGDP no-trade list. :p

I'm pretty sure my trade was still around 90 last turn.

Your trade would be about 76 this turn.

Nearly everyone's base trade income went down due to fierce competition in that field from minors.

owait, I misread the stat page.

Dayum, I lost big in the trade department... Anyways, diplomacy!

Well we can see why those empty accusations have such huge weight. The Spammers are nearly accusing their own allies of couping their former puppets.

Doesn't the fact that they were couped and haven't undergone complete civil war prove to be an indicator that the people are cool with the transition? Especially since their leader is autocratic?

If the above is true, the United Kingdom would like to applaud the Namibian government for its decision to step away from totalitarianism.

However, for obvious reasons, there are fears amongst the Dutch parliament that elections will not be 100% authentic, and we would like to offer the service of some of our diplomats to oversee Namibian elections and ensure that there is no tampering with them with the current government.

In wake of the revelation by the Namib government, the UK would like to urge the Vampires and Mozambique governments to sue for peace in this needlessly costly war and negotiate like civilized peoples.
