Muslim hypocrisy?

Hitro said:
I fully disagree. I'm totally fed up with people here in Europe taking the pc "two sides to the story" road. Publishing anything like that is not at all the same as physically attacking something or someone.

These are our values. Freedom of speech is about being able to say what you want even if the majority doesn't like it!.

Fine, it might have been a provocation, but noone forced them to take it, noone forced them to read the paper and noone forced them to feel offended.
The same can hardly be said about those embassies or that guy they abducted in the West Bank.

And I'll repeat my argument from the other thread. Could you people who are soooo balanced because you see satire and arson attacks as one and the same thing please consider how much these people offend people like me every damn day of the year through the degradation of women, the racism and the fascism they propone?

Could you also consider that when it is so obvious that they have to react like that when someone dares to be blasphemic against their religion and if, as it is always said, terrorism is so much against the core of Islam, why there isn't comparable outrage over every terrorist attack committed in the name of the prophet? Attacks that kill people, not just draw a picture...

If you consider that the only conclusion is that they are hypocrites. The truth is not always somewhere in the middle...

This whole world is going to hell, since it has to be a socialist who explains people what the freedom of speech really means. All the so-called liberals who are silent now are a joke.

That is, thank you for your support, Hitro, it is good to see that at least some people here can get over these shallow "christians did it before!!" or "it's all western fault!!" pseudo-arguments :goodjob:

So that's why people who called themselves Christians lynched black people because they wanted to vote?
You obviously do not know must about history, because many Christian groups were actually part of the movement to get blacks to vote. So you need to research before you even post, before you right something so silly.

Arrest warrants were issued Saturday for the editors of the Jordanian papers, according to Jordan's Petra News Agency. Shihan's editor, Jihad Momeni, a former member of the Jordanian Senate, was fired after publishing the cartoons.

Jordan's King Abdullah II said the publication of such images is a "crime that that cannot be justified under freedom of expression," Petra reported.

...

Two Jordanian newspaper editors who published cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad have been arrested.

Jihad Momani and Hisham Khalidi are accused of insulting religion under Jordan's press and publications law.

Funny how the government there punishes people for their opinion, if it goes against Islam, but those calling for destruction of Israel, West etc. are left unharmed.

And Jordan is in fact one of the most liberal Arab countries.

Marla, your solution to every problem is basically: do nothing, it will end up somehow. Cars burning in France, but what the hell, I don't care, it's not my business. Embassies burning in Syria and people getting threatened with death? So what, I don't care about the Middle East.
You are being injust here. When cars were burnt in France, Marla repeated several times that the answer was not to send the army, that it was the police job. And she gave the figures: several thousands of arrestations.
She never said we should do nothing, and contrary to what you think, we didn't just wait for it to pass.
Also, she said she was not aware of the embassies burning, and learn it after she posted

Well, I'm still not convinced that you are Hitro to understand what freedom of speech really means.

Maybe you'd be a successful politician.
Where did I say I wanted to be a politician ? ;)

I am aware of the fact that freedom of speech isn't a justification for spreading hatred or slanders. But I am also aware of the fact, that caricatures have a long tradition in Europe and I am not willing to sacrifice it in the name of some foreign faith.

Look, as Hitro said, they're doing tons of things I personally consider offensive, for example how they treat women, how they tolerate terrorism etc. But unlike them, I am not reacting violently. Free society is about tolerance and non-violence.

They cannot justify what they're doing now by the fact that they might have been offended. That is simply impossible, it's our right and we should discuss if it was appropriate or not. Being forced to apologize by threats, that will just make us more defiant. But maybe I don't mind...

i read that this wasnt the first time jyllandsposten published anti-muslim cartoons.

if you keep taking potshots, guess what? youre gonna hit something sooner or later, and the one you hit isnt gonna be happy about it.

of course its stepping things up when they torch the embassy, and of course its wrong any way you look at it.

but "they" are not the majority of muslims as you said in your disclaimer, it takes a single person to burn a building down. look at the mosque burnings right here in scandinavia, thats was the work of a few crazy bastards.

when you call the majority of muslims terrorist sympathizers youre just adding to the problem. youre demonizing a group of people that you obviously know very little about.

im surprised this thread hasnt been locked yet.

"Freedom go to hell. Europe, you will pay. 7/7 on it's way."

Truly a demonstration of peace and tolerance

Jawz, provide some evidence that the radical ones are just a small minority. Go on, I am waiting. Because from what I see, they have enourmous support, while the anti-radicals are in minority. Look at the thread started by Moustafa - he is the first Muslim I am aware of, who disagree with the violence commited because of these cartoons.

If this ends up escalating into WWIII, and destroys the planet via nuclear holocaust, I wonder what the guy that drew the original CARTOON will be thinking, when the bombs start falling all around him, destroying the human civilization in a giant ball of fire. :crazyeye:

"How!? How did it come to this?! It was just a cartoon! ...I didn't mean to... AAAGHH!!!" :nuke: :nuke: :nuke:

Nuclear holocaust? pfft. Pakistan will unleash its nukes on India, and then they entire nuclear arsenal of the Muslim world will be spent. Still not good, but hardly the end of the world.

no, you provide me with some evidence that the majority are the radical ones, go on, im not waiting! cause you got nothing, or you wouldve presented it long ago, when i asked you to, instead of just repeating the same thing over and over.

what youre doing is called talking points. i asked you for some kind of proof, maybe a poll or 2, but you didnt respond.

mustafa is also the only muslim whos position on thing youre aware of, except the people on those pictures. and thats because he is the only muslim youve talked to.

i read in the paper yesterday that threre have been 20,000 people demonstrating in damaskus, now i dunno how many people live there, but i bet the number is in the millions.

20000 out of millions is a very small percentage. and were talking about 20,000 people that demonstrated, peacefully. as i told you before, all it takes to torch a building is 1 single person.or if it was a protest thing that got outta hand and resulted in riot/building torching it would be a few hundred tops.

There are 2 million people in Damascus. 20,000 is 1% of the population. And it only takes 200 crazy protestors to get some nifty pictures.

I am basing my opinion on the empirical evidence, which, if you're not blind and deaf, shows us that while some Muslims are torching embasies or blowing themselves up, the others are silent.

You know that, those who stay silent obviously agree with the rest.

The fact that nobody stopped those 20,000 means, that the rest at least didn't care about what they were doing, which is equally bad.

Tell me, please, why there were never so big rallies against WTC, London or Madrid bombings? Why? That's the point in this thread.

I dont care if its a majority or not. Its besides the point. The fact is that Im tired of worrying what offends Muslims. Im tired of seeing angry chanting Muslims mobs burning flags. Im tired of Muslims, period. This week, the Muslims are mad because of a newspaper cartoon. Last week the Muslims were angry because soup kitchens were offering pork to the poor. Before that, they were angy because two punks died in France, so they burned thousands of cars of innocent people. Maybe next week, they'll feel offended that Western women walk around showing their faces in public. Im just completely, 100% fed up to here (pointing to forehead).

So, I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window, open it, and stick your head out, and yell, "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!" I want you to get up right now. Get up. Go to your windows, open your windows, and stick your head out, and yell, "I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!"

And many Christians (or those who claimed to be) believed that blacks shouldn't be given the same rights as white peopler. The Klan in particular.

empirical evidence AKA prejudice? evidence based on experience? basicly your saying its true cause you said so? i got another good name for your empicial evidence, but im not gonna stoop to that level.

rest assured that my vision is 20/20 and my hearing is sharpened to the levels of marvel superheroes, i can hear people miles away fart.

who says those that are silent agree with the others? im silent the majority of the time, if i was gonna protest to everything i feel objectionable, i would have to protest 24/7 and still i wouldnt be able to protest 1/1000000000 of it.

how many times have you taken on angry mobs of people? how of many of those nazis demonstrating have you stopped in your streets? wild guess, none?

good. so you must be a nazi then.

youre from eastern europe right? how many rallies were there against london or madrid bombings? i cant remember a single rally anywhere, not saying there werent any, there must have been something in the countries where it happened, but it didnt make the news.

cynical as it sounds, it wasnt big enough news to make the tv news, maybe a small article somewhere in the back of the newspapers.

also, if you compare madrid and london bombings to the baghdad daily bombings, both by insurgents and us airforce, theyre just a drop in the sea.
do you have daily demonstrations against violence in iraq where you live?

well then that must mean youre countrymen support terrorism.

again try to be at least alittle consistent. dont ask from others something that you yourself havent done for anybody.

and i did see people lighting candles, i remember seeing muslim girls crying on tv, i saw people from iran, pakistan and a few other places after 9/11.

ps. if you cant present anything other than "empirical evidence", then im done with you and your thread, reading you repeat the same thing over and over again without backing it up with reason is giving me a headache.

Ive had just about all I can stand of Muslim anger. Enough is enough. Somebody has to have the balls to tell them to shut the hell up, and pack up and go home if our countries are so offensive to them. Furthermore, I dont give a royal damn how many brain dead politically correct lambs call me a fascist, a racist, a xenophobe, or whatever. After the Muslims are done kissing my ass, they can too.
