I understand what you think the distinction is, but in this case it shouldn't make a difference to you as 'Allemanic' is both German and Germanic.

Do you get that words can change meaning over time, and that moderns can borrow medieval and ancient words to form neologisms for neologistic concepts? Libyans? Pygmies? Atoms? 'the Old X language'?
