Name this cat!

Well IMO greta sounds like a butt ugly name.

Its not any worse then the names ethel, gertrude or bertha. All ugly names.
I had lunch at KFC last week and a very pretty girl (about 15) waited on me. Her name tag said "Bertha" and I felt really sorry for her. All those names you mentioned are popular ones from the early years of the 20th C. My grandmothers were Ethel and Blanche. My mother-in-law is Edna.

What/who is Disa?
It's just a Swedish girl's name we picked for our first cat, just because we liked the name.
I since found out that there's an orchid with the same name.

If i was her i would really wonder what my parents were smoking. And i could assure you that as soon as i hit 18 its off to court to change my disgustingly ugly name!

Your kidding me?

Garbo sounds big and abrupt.. Like the name for some lunkhead.

Give it a name like bastet or godess or cleopatra. Sounds better for a female cat.
I think bastet is too "hard" or "harsh sounding" a name and too close to "bastard" to be acceptable.

Another name for the goddess is just plain Bast.

Sounds better.. or you could try bastess. Bastess sounds more feminine.

I grew orchids for about 10 years. Into the pot it goes.

Emoen and Mailar.

Both random fusions of sounds i think sound nice.. tho on second thought Mailar could be a boys name.. guess you have all just found out what my first children will be called ;) lol.

I could make up storys to give them better resonance though if you wish... or even throw out a few more names. I play a lot of roleplaying games, and have developed quite a good ability to make up completely random names...

(appart from the Leaders name... always Abaddon, or Norab)

Eris is the Greek name for the god of confusion and mischevious acts. Kind of suits cats.
I like that idea. :)

Pandora sounds better. And pandora did open pandoras box and cause mischief! Not to mention she was supposed to be a hot lady.

Causing mischief seems to fit the cats role. My cat would always do things that bugged me like walk on my keyboard and bring dead rats up to the door.

mrs bojangles!!!!!!
Our Mr. Bojangles was a female. She was one of our first two cats (the other was caterpiller or catapult). At that time Jerry Jeff Walker was one of our favorite singers.

Is that a reference to a Harry Potter character or rheus monkeys?
It's the feminine form of the word mullato (sp?) which I made up, since your cat is both black and white.

Pandora is very nice. And Mathilda, speaking of orchids Catlaya isn't bad.

My wife is busy elsewhere in the house I will try and round her up shortly to pass judgment on some of these.

Indeed, that sounds very nice. :goodjob:

Well, seeing as how you ask for a word for a female cat in OT, how about naming it after one of our female posters? :)

Like Feline or Mathilda?

Or Fifty... :spank:

I do like Mathilda, because of said poster. My wife does not have the same "affection" for the name since she does not partake of CFC.

Mathilda, OT's beauty of rare delight,
Was snagged by AVN one January night

:)

Yes, probably not a good idea to insist to name your cat after some woman you "know" from the 'net.
Could lead to all sorts of explaining.

But thanks Bird :)

Jingles? Just the name of my aunt's cat though.

Or Socks...it's a complete ripoff from the cat that the Clintons had, but looks apt.
