I was referring to the dog from EFZI, whatever it is. It looks like a German Shepherd. It wouldn't make a very good lion, but it would work as a placeholder (with a new attack sound)

An ancientish RA2 siberian attack dog that Chuckchi removed from CFC, but forgot to remove somewhere else.

Specifically here.

I cant find the lion in question...did/can you post a link?...

@Bjornlo...It wont be exact, but I think there are enough civs, and units available to try...My SG-1 scenario didnt turn out exact, but it gives a good feel of a starGate style war...I would like to do something similar here, only start at the "begining"...before lucy ever comes through...or maybe just a few preplaced cities(Id rather do starting points)...Whatever it ends up being, I know I cant possible emulate most of the stories...The Witch goes to London in one book...but I can create the world, Make the Wardrobe a wonder that spawns the children or something...it doesnt have to follow the story in any way but: the Map and peoples living in the world...the rest can be worked out as I/we go...

In truth, I want to make a fantasy MOD, in a world Im familiar with...I dont know warhammer, or Mystara very well if at all...and other than Dragonlance (which Supa is working on!!!YAY!!!) I only really know Narnia...I had forgotten about it until the movie buzz, but seeing the movie I thought it would make a great Mod...There are at least 5 different Civs I can think of off the top of my head, and Im sure it can be broken down further once it gets deeply looked into....

So we will see what we will see...any help would be appriciated...as would ignoring my rather constant spelling errors...

IMO following the story (as far as is possible given the limitations, and without scripting out the entire scenario until it's no fun) would be more important than producing an accurate world to play in. The story behind the Narnia series is what it's all about. If it were Warhammer of D&D, where the setting and background are there to base your own story on, it would be different. But like LotR, this is a world built to accomodate a story, not the other way around. Of course how much it follows the story will depend on whether you go for a scenario or more of a mod- if you make an epic mod like LotM, it will be more freeform. But a scenario set in a specific time period should at least attempt to model the storyline.

Of course, being a CS Lewis fan and strong believer in the basis for series, I would much rather see the storyline preserved. :)

well as it stands, Im gonna do scenarios book by book as much as possible(leaving out any point in the book that occur in England)

I like the idea of the wardrobe spawning the children, so Im gonna work on the first book for now...

I will work on the MOD version after I get the scenarios done(in other words...no time soon...at least 4 of the books make for decent scenarios)

Can someone tell me if its possible to make 3 units work like so:
Unit A is immoble, and must be "picked up"
unit B can pick up A but not cross a certain terrain...
unit C can not pick up unit A,, can pick up unit B, and can cross the afore mentioned terrain...

I think it's the case that any unit with battle capability can pick up a Princess unit. It has nothing whatsoever to do with transport ability. So it may be possible to make a transport unit without battle capability that can transport another battle-able unit which has picked up the Princess unit but can't travel over a certain terrain by itself. I don't quite remember what the criterion is for the ability to pick up Princess units, so you may need to experiment.

Personally I agree with TLC and UtahJazz that Lewis' work isn't really good scenario material. But I shall be watching with interest anyway...

Perhaps Aslan the lion can have a similar ability with that Belisarius unit in the classic Justinian scenario for civ2 ;) (the Belisarius unit could easily grind anything to dust, but the rest of the army sucked, so you had to choose where it would be fighting)

well spacer, i could fix the terrain myself, the way i need it, as i'm sure you realise it IS going to be a *bit* different to yours (ie no stars in the "water" and the trees must become "willies" etc) but if i havent done much on the terrain, then i'll wait for the new one.

regardin the scenario, i figure if a "all-civs" (calormen, narnia, etc) would be good.

regarding SG 1, dont be dissapointed with the response. remember, its not finished. it needs the Jaffa units im doing, aswell as the terrain fix, and whatever else you plan on doing to it to make it a kick@ss scenario.

I don't think it makes sense to have Aslan as a military unit at all, if you're aiming to be true to the books - he's not a powerful creature, he's God himself.

Actually he is Jesus...but close enough...

I was thinking of making Aslan some type of flag unit, so the WW could pick him up and drop him off at the stone table...

after much thought, I cant really come up with victory conditions....I was thinking that the SS victory could be reduced to 4 peices(peter lucy edmund susan)...does that sound right to anyone?...or culture victory...military victory seems wrong in Narnia...but not for Calorman and the Eastern Isles...

As much as I love(d) the books, I too have problems envisaging how it would pan out.

Two ideas to help:

1) With that tech tree not having many techs: You can reflect the passage of time through the book with your tech tree. So for example, 'The Wardrobe' is maybe the third or fourth tech and opens up all kinds of resources (cue the animal units).

2) The Civs:
You could have each civ headed up by one of the kids. The brothers for example compete for future glory as king and each child does have quite distinct qualities. Whether this would work or not is another thing, but it's an idea. It'd be seriously disappointing if there were no Ice Queen with her own civ.

well the Ice queen thing turned out to stump me...How do I make the ice melt???

So the terain has to be half snow, half grass and such...Im not sure how that will go...seems like it needs to be a scenario(not to mention I need someone to make a Reindeer drawn Sleigh first) in order to work out the WW issue...I think the first book wants to be a scenario...but it turns into a battle too quickly...

I like the 4 children as civs idea...then Edmund could ally with the WW at the begining in theory...but they might try to fight eachother...Hmmm

The tech tree timeline is the only way to do it, so I guess "techs" will be events like in SG-1...Not a problem...meeting Tumnus, meeting the beavers, crossing the river, Aslan sacrificed etc...

I think Im just gonna start with the map(half started, the grid is plotted, and the coast mapped so far)...once I get that done, I can start adding stuff and see how it runs out...Im also thinking of making Diplo victory somehoe...my thought is if you kill the "evil" civs, the good civs would vote in a king/winner...

Im not sure...this idea came to me, but after thinking about it, I think its gonna be harder than I thought to determine victory...Unless its just an epic mod with the characters and no story...which I dont wanna do...So Im gonna try to figure it out as a scenario first(that way I can start with a small list of needs/requests) between:
Peter
Susan
Edmund
Lucy
White Witch
Narnian animals

Im thinking several victory points and a massive VP requirement to win...

Victory points at the key locations...Tumnus house...Queens castle...stone table...(I wsh there awas someway to make the VP appear/disappear)...and then finally at cair paravel...
