NavyDawg's Unit Creation Thread

Prone is lying down. Which is, in combat, the a damn good position to be in. Harder to hit, better firing position (more stable).
The firing positions are often called this:
Prone (see above)
Kneeling (obvious)
off-hand (standing).

And, in real combat there are a 1000 variations having to do with movement, available cover, etc.

Iron Beagle, prone would not be hard to animate. It would be hard to make look interesting.
You would use the fortify animation to get down.
Attack from your belly.
And use the victory animation to get to get up again.

Problem is, the prone position gives little room for the little movement details that make a unit interesting.

NavyDawg, I don't know if you take requests, but I do have some. I'm working on a version of TCW that only takes place in Europe, and I was wondering if you could make a bunch of modern Infantry units for various counties?

:please:

How can I ignore the little praying smilie? Allright, give me some ideas (pictures help) and I'll consider putting them on my list. I have a little maintenance to do on the Sheriff wrt the palette, then I'll make an alt attack for the Euro Soldier. After that, I'll probably put out a few desert infantries. After that, I could work on a request or two, although I have some other ideas...

Wow, that praying smilie is powerful!

Not sure if this is what Alcosta had in mind, but since there is a lot of interest in Russian units and there are several people doing cold war scenarios, I think the unit that is missing most is a cold war Soviet/Russian infantryman:

These are recent photos; older Russian/Soviet uniforms had a different appearance.

Yes, the newer special forces CT helmets look like old fashioned motorcycle helmets.

Have you tried my color conversion of Balou's Spetsnaz?

Okay, what I'm doing is a scenario about the Cold War in Europe. Ideally, I would like unique infantry units for each civ, but since most of the skin colors are the same, the weapon is the only thing I care about. I'll third/second the AK-47 Infantry, but IIRC, you said you had plans to make that already. (BTW, if you are, an African skin would be nice. :D)

My first request would be a Heckler & Koch G3 infantry unit. This gun was used by France, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and many other countries.

Here's a picture:

G3 would work for me as well... But what I'm moreso interested in are:
(1) Bundeswehr (Germany) with G36, the "Infanterist der Zukunft" ("Infantryman of the Future").
(2) IDF Infantryman (Israeli Defense Forces) with modern Uzi.

I have props for both guns and pictures, too... (hint, hint)

I doubt France used the G3
