At this point, now that they've completely destroyed his confidence by doing everything but openly admitting that they're shopping him, they kinda have to deal him, no?Why do you think they're in such a hurry to get rid of Rondo?
It's the inverse of why you might want Jason Terry :<of course you have to wonder why anyone would want rondo that badly when you can destroy his confidence so easily
Welp, the Lakers got Chris Paul.
I hate the NBA.

Yeah, vetoing the deal might be the worst thing that's happened to NO basketball since Katrina. Getting Scola, K-Mart, Dragic, and picks was great - now they'll have to settle for way less or even be unable to flip CP3 at all before his contract runs out. Also I'm going to guess this is could be the death knell of New Orleans basketball. Intially the league only wanted to have a buyer that would keep the team in town, and rejected offers from buyers that would probably move it like Larry Ellison. Now I bet they'll want to sell it off pronto to whoever. Hello San Jose/Vancouver/Seattle Hornets.
because chi/bos/mia/okc started screaming about it at the meeting today?Yeah, I wonder why the NBA vetoed it. It's far less onesided than the first Pau deal.
They haven't lost Odom yet...downtown said:How would LA get Howard now? Bynum for Howard straight up isn't good enough. Chicago can offer a way better deal...unless New Orleans cuts Odom, LA signs him back, then promptly trades him to Orlando haha
We seriously lost the 2 months of season over competative balance for small market teams only to have the only league owned team, in one of the smallest markets, try to ship its only star off to the second largest market.
ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
I don't think they're necessarily in a hurry, but if they think they can get the best PG they'll trade him. They're gonna need a serious kick in the pants if they want to make one last run with the old three.

the proposed deal was a GREAT deal for NO, a good deal for the lakers, and a terrible one for houston
i'm still laughing my ass off about what transpired by the way

Yep. Paul is off the market now right? How can they trade him after this? He'll just walk at the end of the season and NO gets nothing.
