Wow! I finally see what's happening! I noticed the area in the south-east corner is a lot clearer now; causalties or just big map?
3 units in my HQ, and surrounded by twice that number, it doesn't look too good for the orange :(.
and I wonder who black is. Unless if that's just a mistake in the map editing?
Edit: Don't forget to PM me Daft!

Brave peoples of Soldia, you have been systematically deceived! We have found the True Path, and its name is Chaos!

It is not enough to destroy authority. All forms of order, even civilization itself, must be destroyed before any of us will know true peace and freedom…

Red units proceeded with a new offensive plan drawn up by General Matt0088. However, once again the plans proved a little too ambitious and were frustrated by the movements of Orange forces.

ForestMountain.png

First priority was the capture of the highground at C4 with overwhelming forces. On the morning of the attack, fog and mist covered the lower valleys, making the terrain even more difficult for Red's light tanks. Artillery spotters had difficulty in picking out suitable targets, and Red's airstrike sortie almost hit friendly forces. In some places Red's tanks were able to advance under the cover of fog without being seen, but in other places there were ambushes and confused skirmishes with Orange rearguard troopers. The first reports reaching Red HQ greatly exaggerated the true strength of the Orange defence. In fact the Orange units, mostly in bad shape, were already withdrawing.

While Red tanks overran C4, Orange troops were attempting to re-occupy the airfield at C5. They ran into Red trooper units with similar orders, to take the airfield and outflank Orange defences. Both sides had taken losses in earlier battles. In the end the Red troops took control of the airfield, with support from lights in the western hills, although the fighting was fierce. The surviving Red troops only amounted to a single unit's worth.

Meanwhile, the StuG unit found itself isolated. Red units closed in on several sides and prevented any move towards the city at E2. In the end, some of the StuG crews surrendered and some other surviving vehicles were captured by Red's forces. But a handful of the former StuG crews chose to fight on, forming a unit of irregulars and making their way eastwards while evading Red patrols.

A unit of Orange troopers had been ordered to advance on E2, in the vain hope of teaming up with the StuG unit and launching another offensive into Red's territory. But the Orange troopers found themselves fighting against the exact same unit of Red troopers that they had met during the earlier unexplained incident in the forest at C2. Instead of fighting, there were rumours of fraternisation between the two sides and possibly some kind of mass hallucinogenic episode. By the time other Red units arrived to restore order among their comrades, the Orange troopers had all abandoned their weapons and wandered off into the northern wilderness.

On the borders of Orange HQ, Charles Li's flakkers continued to exchange fire with the defending armored cars and the improvised light tanks. With the capture of C4 and C5, other Red units now turned their attentions on Orange HQ, although the foggy conditions continued to cause delays and accidents. The surviving Orange light tanks were destroyed in the first few battles. but the Red forces have not yet had to time to press the attack.

*Red's troops captured $1 in captured weapons, supplies and miscellaneous items.

*The overseas backers of the Nationalist movements (Aqua and Orange) have sent a submarine to pick up Orange commanders in the event that Orange HQ is lost.

*A unit of Orange irregular troops seems to have vanished during the confused fighting at C4. It isn't clear if any survivors remain in the area or have made it back to Orange HQ.

---

While Red's northern operations seemed to be goingfairly well, there was sudden bad news in the south. The 'Black Army' of the 'Union of Chaotic Anarchists' suddenly declared itself independent of Xolniu's main Anarchist army. After confused gun battles with the other Anarchists, and some kind of incident involving the giant battle robot, the Chaotic Anarchists marched westwards and easily overran Red garrison in the city at E4. By this stage the Choatic Anarchists had control of the giant battle robot, backed up by a unit of low-tech improvised armored cars.

Some of the isolated anarchist troopers in the far north-east, on the borders of Aqua territory, also declared themselves part of the Chaotic Anarchism.

---

The remaining 'loyal' Anarchists continued to hold position in the Imperial capitol. The damaged gunboat continued to be repaired and new heavy artillery placements were added to the city's defence.

Confusingly, an Anarchist supply convoy has been seen heading westwards, for unexplained reasons. This does not seem to be related to the Chaotic Anarchists.

---

The mysterious Brown forces remained mysterious. The location of their HQ and the true extent of their armed forces remained unknown. But it is clear that Brown forces were involved in a fierce battle for the crash site at G3, against the humanoid battle robots that had turned up there. Snipers attempted to target weakspots on the robots while the troopers closed in. In the end, the robots wandered off to the south-west, although it isn't clear if they retreated or were just continuing to move randomly.

Brown supply trucks have arrived to take away the remaining cargo crates, whatever they contain.

*Red's supply trucks made it back to Red HQ with a quarter of the crates from the crash site, containing $1 worth of supplies.

*Gold's supply trucks made it back to Gold HQ with half the crates, containing $2 worth of supplies.

---

The fighting between Green and Aqua forces began to quiet down, due to mutual death and exhaustion. Various peace deals were discussed, but in the end the Green army, now known as Green Guerilla Command (GGC) under commander Tuxedohamm, agreed to temporarily ally with the Gold (Cobra) forces, possibly in exchange for certain territories being returned to Green control.

It seemed that Cobra commanders were enraged by the brief battle that had seen Lord_Iggy's gunship crew evicted from the ruined city of G7 by Neverwonagame's Nationalist forces. Cobra forces prepared for a full-scale offensive against Aqua positions. However the Nationalists refused to back down and prepared to make a stand to hold G7 as part of their rightful spoils of war.

FernandezsSeal.png

But, to the great surprise of Aqua commanders, Gold 'Air Attack Wing' consisting of transport and gunship helicopters made a surprise attack on the city of E8, which had been under Aqua control for some time and was north of the expected battle area. The Aqua defenders consisted of unguarded heavy artillery and supply vehicles. However, the attack had been boldly launched despite the warning of foggy weather, which was indeed prevalent on the morning of the attack - several Gold transports helicopters crashed into tall buildings, killing far more than Aqua resistance. Nonetheless, Gold Commando and Heavy troopers were successfully deployed into the city's parks and sports stadiums. While Aqua's supply trucks were able to escape, the heavy artillery unit was quickly surrounded. Many of the vehicles were sabotaged by their fleeing crews or destroyed in battle, but just enough of them of were captured intact to form a worthwhile unit under Gold command.

Aqua light fighters, based at rough airstrips near Aqua HQ, then arrived overhead as they flew combat patrols between the cities of G7 and E8. Gold helicopters were forced to seek shelter behind buildings to avoid being strafed, adding to the losses from accidents as well as enemy fire.

Meanwhile Gold 'Army Group B', led by medium tanks and the elite NAO stormtroopers, advanced north from the jungles in order to squeeze out Aqua positions on the other side of the river. The only real resistance was made by Besthot9's elite heavy tank unit with its upgraded heavy armament. In spite of having only a few serviceable vehicles left after the earlier battles with Green forces, these heavy tanks were able to delay Army Group A and the Green heavy troopers which were moving in from the docklands at G9.

Their combination of luck and inspired leadership could only do so much - inevitably, the last few heavy tanks attempted to flee north across the bridge, only to find their path blocked by the Gold airborne commando troopers. The tanks could go nowhere, and were caught in crossfire from both sides of the river. The tanks fired back defiantly. None of the elite unit chose to surrender. The Aqua light fighters offered what help they could, with some strafing runs along both banks. Things were further complicated as Gold forces were anxious not to fatally weaken the bridge with over-zealous fire. But, gradually, the last tanks were silenced.

Strangely, the GGC Submarine was seen lurking beneath the bridge during the battle, and may have had something to do with the appearance of Giant Octopus which accounted for the deaths of some of the Aqua tank crews as they attempted to escape by any means possible. Bestshot9 is among the missing, but it is widely rumoured that he was not even present during the battle, and was instead at a secret meeting with the Nationalist's overseas sponsors in the Duchy of Phinahlz.

Aqua troops guarding the former Green HQ remained besieged. Elite GGC snipers, personally led by Tuxedohamm. terrorised the defenders and gradually reduced their numbers. The advance of Gold forces seemed to put them in a hopeless situation. There were also rumours of strange and terrifying creatures prowling the vicinity of the HQ, and killing lone troopers at night. The arrival of the Green submarine offshore was the final straw, as it dashed hopes of any seaborne rescue or reinforcement. Eventually the surviving Aqua troopers offered to surrender to Green forces.

A new Aqua heavy tank unit was assembled and ordered south, but has only managed to travel as far as D8 so far, and in any case its path is blocked by the Cobra airborne forces…

This leaves Neverwonagame's personal troopers and a unit of scout helicopters as the only surviving Aqua forces in the south. Their positions at G7 have been under fire from Gold's rocket artillery and by the advancing forces of Army Group B. The city at G7 has now been blasted into ruins, offering excellent defensive cover, but Neverwonagame's men have nonetheless been taking more casualties. Aqua's command structure seems to be in crisis, with constant rumours of assassinations and assassination plots. According the latest rumours, Neverwonagame has also gone missing from the ruins of G7, leaving the Aqua army without any obvious leader at the front...

*@Tuxedohamm, Aqua soldiers at your former HQ are offering to surrender, and even to join your army as irregular infantry - although there is no guarantee they will stay loyal, especially if fighting against other Aqua units.

* A unit of irregulars has formed at G8 and has been inspired to join Gold army. These volunteers are eager to end the suffering of their fellow civilians by helping to end the war.

* Gold forces were also boosted by the arrival of the mercenary SturmSöldner Free Company. It is rumoured that Cobra officials have promised rather large amounts of money to these mercenaries. But they have yet to do any real fighting as they roll northwards from Gold HQ.

* New Anarchist troops have been spotted in the far south-east, in the jungle at J10.

* Aqua's supply trucks are probably heading back to base, as they no longer have an extended army to supply.

* Although weakened by several large explosions, and by the attentions of giant octopus, the bridge at F8 still seems fairly stable at this point.

---

As Gold's eastern offensives got underway, the western positions of Gold 'Army Group A' at G5 were unexpectedly hit by a barrage of bombs and missiles launched from unknown aircraft. Fog and jungle cover reduced the amount of damage done, as did the efforts of alarmed Anarchist Flakkers at F5, but the operations of the Gold rocket artillery were disrupted for a while. After studying the flightpath of the unknown aircraft, Cobra analysts concluded that it was sent by the foreign allies of Brown forces, and vowed retaliation…

---

Following the sighting of strange lights in the skies near Aqua HQ, strange atmospheric phenomena have been seen in 3 places across Soldia. These have interfered with electronic equipment, and may possibly be some kind of EMP attack, although the effects have been minimal so far…

INCOMING TRANSMISSION:

ZealPalace.png

I am Xolniu, guardian of the True Path of Enlightened Anarchistic Order. To Red army, let me say that we know your agents are the ones responsible for engineering the rise of the Chaotic Anarchists. Know that we will soon re-educate those who have fallen for this deception. In the meantime, it is our pleasure to observe that you have sown the seeds of your own destruction.

To all the other factions, we wish you all the best in your efforts to destroy each other. We remind you that any attempt to attack our great capitol will be met with nuclear fire. Farewell.

WEATHER REPORT:

Cold, but clear weather is expected during the next few days.

INCOME:

Red received $3 (+$2 special) out of a maximum of $4.
Orange received $1 out of 2. (All HQ's of any faction are now upgraded to $2 value)
Gold received $6 (+$2 special) out of 7.
Green received $1 out of 1 (HQ lost!).
Aqua received $5 out of 7.

NOTES:

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I've changed what the sparkles/damage icons mean:
BLUE is minor damage/disruption
ORANGEYYELLOW is major damage/ disruption
RED is critical damage + reduced effectiveness

I wrote a lot, lol :trophy:

For now, I'm still enforcing the rule about no more than two vehicles and/or four infantry being allowed on the same square at the end of a turn.

Options for building buildings have been added to the front page. They are however a little more expensive than originally proposed. They might only be useful as long-term investments for those with more $ to spend. Each has its own benefits and placement conditions listed in the stats, but basically cannot be placed ontop of existing HQ's, ports, airfields, cities etc.

Is it easier to have the map as an attachment or in a spoiler on the page? I guess its too big to fit on one screen for most people now.

@Vertinari118, if you're interested in joining Aqua army, you'd now have sole command of all their units, plus the usual $6 to spend initially.

Excellent update! I'm not entirely sure on how the blue sparkles work, though. Orders will be in soon.

From: The Orbital Coalition
To: Green Forces

We believe that a permanent alliance between our forces would be much more suitable than a temporary ceasefire. Supplying our new territories after the destruction of Aqua will be difficult if we have to travel through Green territory.

We also wish to end this war for the good of Soldia, and for the other purposes of the Orbital Coalition. So, we ask you to consider a permanent union between Green and Gold forces. Together we will be unstoppable.

So, we ask you to consider a permanent union between Green and Gold forces. Together we will be unstoppable.

OOC: Don't think that your the only one. At least we do deals in secret.:mischief:
@Daft, If we take control of Orange HQ by the end of the nest turn, do we still get $2 income, of does it decrease back to $1 income.

To: Gold
From: Red High Command

As we establish control over our respective areas of control. We would like to extend our ceasefire to turn 14 to prevent any conflict between our forces. As accidental conflict may not be taken as accidental, and lead to full scale and possible nuclear conflict.

From: The Orbital Coalition
To: Red Forces

We don't care much for damaging Soldia, but we don't care much for useless bluffs, either.

However, if you turn this into an alliance against Brown, we will agree to your ceasefire.

To: Gold Command
From: Red High Command

Who say we're bluffing? Besides that, Brown has already threatened us and troops will be sent to deal with them after the Black anarachists are exterminated.

I forgot to mention, I've changed what the sparkles/damage icons mean:
BLUE is minor damage/disruption
ORANGEYYELLOW is major damage/ disruption
RED is critical damage + reduced effectiveness

Just to confuse things, there is accidentally some variation in the orangey-yellow icons, I will standardize these for next time.

@Thlayli, I forgot to mention, the bridge at G6 has been repaired enough to allow non-heavy vehicles to cross, but not in safety. There is still a 33% chance of taking losses due to vehicles crashing into the water :)

EDIT:

@Matt0088, I think that Orange's HQ should continue to give $2 (when fully recovered) for whoever owns it.

i will join the failing orange team as reinforcements from b1!!!!!! (if possible.... if not then i dont exist......)

Condor Green: Sorry, I don't think that'll work well, as you'll se in my orders... :mischief:
The Orange army has joined Red, in hopes of peace in Soldia. Our combined forces will be unstopable as we conquer live peacefully with the rest of the nation. :D
(Sorry Matt if you wanted it secret but everyone would find out pretty soon anyways. The orders sorta gave it away.)
Well, I don't have much to command, so my orders will be a little short:
My two soldiers in my HQ should regroup & repair. Try to repair any damage that might have been done in all the fighting. :hammer:
My armored cars should move down and assault Chaos's city, along with an attack from Red's army.
The irregular should try to Regroup. My advancing cars should provide enough cover to prevent increased damage.

PM's replied to! Awaiting orders from: RED, and AQUA which probably doesnt have any players so doesn't really count.

@sp1023 and condor_green, you are very welcome to join. If you'd like to join one of the main teams (AQUA, RED, GREEN, GOLD) you have $6 to spend, and can give orders to units the turn they are built. You won't actually exist until you have put your own units on the map, there is nothing to 'reserve'. You won't get to control other player's units unless they let you, even if you are on the same team.

There are spending/orders examples on the 2nd post which might help. I don't expect you to read all the rules, since you can post generalised orders if you want.

If you don't want to join one of the four main teams, you could in theory start your own custom faction with reduced $ to spend - although the map is kinda crowded now, so it would probably involve a rebellion of some kind, which I won't inflict on other players unless you happen to have a really good idea...

Given that Orange team has agreed to unite with Red, noone can really join them now.

General Vertinari enters the fray! What's this about the Nationalists having no commanders. First action as commander send Pinky to an animal wellfare centre. Bestshot can vist him once a week and so can worshipers. Anyone who breaks this rule will be shot!

Spending

I shall deploy my personal unit of commandos (-$3) and order a new Light Fighter squadron (known as the First Squadron) to be deployed at B8 (-$3)

Orders

Spoiler :
My Commandos will move to C8. The First Squadron will attack the Cobra held city in on the Nationalist island (sorry I cannot be more helpful but the spoiler with the map in is now refusing to open). The other fighter wing squardron will attempt to destory the brige that the Cobra forces are crossing. The troops around my HQ will destory the brige there and then dig in along with the rest of the troops. General Vertinari himself will inspire the men and ask each and every one of them to give their all to the war effort and drive back the hated Cobra forces no matter what.

Orders done. Aqua are back in town.

Spoiler ORDERS :
For once I don't have to include a threat.:)
Spoiler ORDERS SPOILER :
Command Dipsatch from High General Matt0088 of the Holy and Almighty Red Crusade:
Spending Orders:
- Buy a Heavy Tank for $6, after this turn is over, transfer it to Popcornlord's command if(HINT HINT POPCORNLORD) he gives all his income to me for the rest of the game.

General Orders:
- Have all Red and previous Orange units be forced converted to the God's Will. Use the temple artifact, which is still being sent to HQ for study, and the destruction and choas that can be caused if your heretics and using Black as a example, and the fact that they are the god's chosen ones, to convince any non-believers to the God's Will. If this doesn't work, simply say "convert or death", and make a public execution if they choice death telling all of the horrors of heresy.
- Just in case I have to include this, accept Orange's surrender.
- Have C1 Heavy Trooper move to D1 and try to, uh... inherit the defenses already set up there.
- Have my B3 Light Tank leader unit repair & regroup and watch for any Orange rebellion.
- Have my C5 trooper dig in and watch out for any orange rebellions and intervene and stop any if they pop up.

Operation " The Angered 18 unit Giant"
Operational Goals: (In order of importance)
1. Get in such a position as to be able to successfully retake E4 by turn 10.
2. Destory the War Machine Monster thing or 2 other E4 black units.
Assigned Forces:
2 Light Tanks
4 Troopers
1 Heavy Artillery (With Engineer unit in support)
1 Heavy Tank
1 Armor Cars
1 Flakker
Operational Timeline:
1. Bullets are now like turkey, tradition at the right time.
  • All of step one will be just getting everyone in place, for sake of organization. First have the newly purchased heavy tanks start at E2 and move to E3 along with the non-damaged trooper. The other heavyly damaged E2 trooper should be able to repair & regroup in safety.
  • Have the D2 trooper move to D3, the B3 flakker move to D3m and have the D3 StuG repair & regroup. The two troopers and the flakker there should let the StuG repair & regroup in safety if Black attacks D3.
  • Have the C3 Light Tank to D4 to join Popcornlord's armored car there.
  • Have the C4 Light Tank move to D5.
  • Have the Heavy Artillery fire both its attack actions on E4. Have the engineer unit help out in any way possible.

2. This turkey.... I mean bullets are good.:crazyeye:
  • All location used now are where they moved to in step 1. Have the E3 Heavy Tank and trooper attack E4 from the west.
  • Have the 2 D3 troopers and Flakker attack E4 from the northwest.
  • Have the D4 Light Tank attack E4 from the north together with Popcornlord's armored cars.
  • Attack E4 from the northeast with D5 Light Tank.
  • Need I say all the advantages in this battle.:D

I agree with General Matt's Actions. I will be more active one day... also, I want a retinue of medium/light/heavy tanks one day to be posted south.

I agree too. All money goes to Matt. The new heavy tank should join the attack. If nessesary wait for the other Red units to organize themselves before the assault (this includes the cars too).
BTW I also recognise the possibility that some previously orange units might still believe in the rebellion against Red. Fight them if nessesary. Use intimidation and show an example to other rebels. They all will convert to the mighty Red or die! (does the religion even have an official name? :hmm:)
This post post is not intended as an update to my orders. It is an addition in response to Matt's post. Sorry if it's taken as an update. Ignoore it if you want to. :p
Edit: Matt, you still have to PM me about the mercenaries.
