good, good New Rome for me Story right away... This looks damn good.

Looks interesting, and ive lost interest in others so ill take Flemmingia

The Pope for the first time set foot upon this new land. To his eyes this was salvation, compared to the bleak landscape that had been made of Europe this place was a paradise. All around him people were coming ashore thanking god and kissing the ground. Relief flooded every one of them as they broguht ashore supplys, these survivors had seen much and yet they lived against all odds. Pope Clement the VIII was convinced that these people were those chosen by God to survive these ordeals these people, his people, were the chosen few. He had become leader of these people not only religously but in every sense of the word Leader.

"All right, we need to set up a town, at least some living areas. Get together a hundred or so men and bring the sails off the ships and set up some tents." The Pope ordered the men trying to work out what next around him, "You." The pope pointed to one of the ships captains, Julius. "Take a hundred or so men and move south i saw a forest down there earlier. We need wood and its your job to get it for us. Take some axes and swords for protection just in case we find people out there. Leave the guns here, if there are creatures, savages, out there we will need all the defense we have and i have a feeling guns may be a bit hard to come by. Anyone who hasnt any work to do can offer their services by hunting with the few bows we have or use some of the smaller boats to find some fish. Remember my people we are the chosen survivors of God! Let us not dissapoint him."

His people set to their jobs, none disputing his leadership. Who other than God could have seen them through the terrors of past? And with this playing in their minds they knew that they needed to follow Gods representitive if they were to survive in this new land.

With the wood gathered some buildings began taking shape. Women were not excused from work and many fished or helped bring in the lumber. Others with their children wrote up a list of what they had and even began setting up some future pasture land. Others gathered salt from the sea to keep their meat from going off. Within a week a town had been built and soon enough it turned into a city. The first of many Pope Clement VII to recognise the new and mourn the past he called it simply New Rome. Its name might change in time as some saw this as a sign of an old city that had fallen before what they believed had been Gods wrath. Others saw it as a reminder of what they couldnt fall to.

Pope Clement was happy but eager to reach out and learn more of this land. During the voyage he had noted the brave ones who had fought and killed some of the Sea Serpents. After Gathering them together he proposed to them his plan. They were to explore this land and find what they could. Most agreed tired of the manual labor others refused politely wishing to remain with their families. This Clement understood and so those willing set out and those not stayed home.

"This is our new home. Let us make the best of it."

For days and nights the sea and all its ungodly horrors battered the Dutch people, it seem they were doomed to rot in their ships. Many began to doubt Gods power, why would he put us though such trials, why kill the innocent, millions dead, civilisation destroyed, why was it necessary? The brave people continued their journey into the unknown, only driven by the words of the ever doubtful priests, their tales of a New World that seem like it would never come, the sailors growing tired and ill with scurvy. Hope of survival was all but gone, only enough water for three more days, the bitter irony of the sea water everywhere but none to drink.

But that night, the 24th May 1527, it was all to change. On one ship the look out spotted something new, something promising, something solid, land. Within minutes word had spread to all ships, they would make land fall by the morning... the prayers of the priests had been answered.

At dawn on the 25th the first ships landed, for the first time in a year they were on dry land, the New World, their new home. At this point the people turned to Francis of Orange, after a short discussion with the archbishop and his advisors, Francis order the building of a city, New Amsterdam. Using the wood from the ships and anything they could find the Dutch people set about building the city, for twelve days and nights they toiled but on the 6th of June the building was complete. New Amsterdam was the home of the Dutch, the capital of Flemmingia. The people had been saved by God from his wrath, their trail had finished.

OOC: Kal'thzar I just beat you to it but I belive Potugal is still open

The Journey had been hell, or merely purgery? The suffering had been tremendous and then those...Deamons from the sea attacked. They had managed to fend them off with the Cannons, during the day. Each night a dozen more ships vanished and were never heard of again. His great exodus shrinking in number.

Then they landed. It was still a dream to Reynald, after those harrowing days at sea. It was so...so unreal. The Theologians, what was left of them, were going to have a field day trying to explain this.

What was worrying though was that the population had divided two ways; The Common folk becoming more religious by the hour, and the upper class, The Elite, had become atheistic. This only made the divide between the two peoples more extreme, although the upper class tried to hide it, faking piety.

The first thing Reynald had ordered when he landed was a brief scouting of the area, what information that came back was less than encouraging, a small area of grassland, surrounded by a dense impentrable wall of tree, the likes of which had never been seen in his life.

Now a small town had been set up and 1000 people worked feeding the poulance.

Reynald looked at his "Nations" itenary.

Seeds, Bulls, Cows, Chickens and Horses.

And a lot of Money.

OOC: *shudder* My english needs some serious work.

EDIT: I think thats ok? Did all the flammingia stuff get changed?

Reynald was tired, but he had work to do.

He was organising the appropriate supply chains for building materials and food stuffs.

Most importantly the building materials, withour these he could not build the appropriate buildings such as farms and so on.

He thought of the chain:

Woodcutter -> Sawmill -> stockipiled/used for buildings.

Maybe foresters would have to be used later on to make sure enough trees survived. But that was a future concern. His on;y major concern was that his buildings were all very....Flammable. Stone was in short supply, with only the occasional group of boulders, nothing worthy for buildings. Reynald bit his lip. It would have to wait.

Next His Food Supply, his population needed to grow Food, or slaughter it.

He thought of a couple of supply chains for the purposes of this.

Farm (wheat)-> Bakery -> FOOD
Cows + Chickens -> Slaughter House (or MILK/EGGS) -> FOOD

The other food stuffs, Beans and potatos were good to eat after being grown, and fish and hunting just required the appropriate tools. These others needed intermediatry stages, or special places to store them at least.

Reynald mused, his thoughts drifting away, usually he would never have to concern himself with such matters. Humbled but for the Grace of God.

OOC: I'm more happy with this, but I suspect I should take more time sitting down and thinking these through :mischief:

OOC: SHould each country have some ships? After all we came to the continent on them... have they just vanished into thin air after we came?

Reynald had decided, he would build up woodcutters near the coast, so the nation could expand along the coast more than to travel inland. He didn't know what foul creatures dwelled further inland, and we wanted scouts to check the surrounding area before he would venture in that direction.

He met the scouts leader. A 'ranger' going by the name of Aragorn, and his small fellowship ( :mischief: ). "I hearby declare that upon your return I will present upon you the sum of 50 Gold pieces for scouting and maping the surrounding area,". He watched them leave. Groups of intrepid explorers like these disapeared quickly and didn't come back. He, however, had this gut feeling that this one group would fare better. ( ;) )

He had told them to be on the look out for, major rivers, mountains, and some stone that could be used to make buildings. Anything unusal was also to be noted.

erez, if you read the rules the food that is sustaining your population are the ships being used to fish.

And if you will look at the stats you will see a zero in the fishing...

no, that means that you arent making any money from fishing cus everything you get is being used up to feed your population.

Yeah dont argue with Stalin god damnit... Too many of his wonderful Nes's have come to an end because of people missing the fact that its awesome and complaining so stop.... or...or i will say i will do something that i cant really do.

Oh thanks for the complament Stalin more will come... should i make one per update or do i need to write more?

I'll be New England, and I've seen two of Stalin's Nes's die from, uhm faulty memory - the first one died from soda. The other one, well Erik Mesoy complained about me sinking his fleet and some other bickered a bit too. Be nice with the GM, not all of them have thick skin!

If New England is taken, I'll go for anything that's left except the last spot which is for Jason or reserve the spot (if possible) for the first one that drops out.

Is anything still open??
