NES - A Return To Our Roots

I'm not letting it, nemisis caused it. Toasty dropped this to play UKNES4, as did you and Obsessed Nuker i think. If it isn't dead yet it is mortally wounded. Reminds me of how the first NES died too. It died after Das made it board-gameish. It is obvious that old fashioned NESs are doomed. When i made the Ruleless NES and Sir Lance A Lot made his Starcraft one ruleless it all died pretty fast. A lot of the new NESs aren't even Never Ending. They will all end someday when someone completes the objectives the creator thought up. This is why i am working on a board game NES for Europe from 1600s to the modern world. We will see how it turns out. Hopefully i can get enough people for it. Ironically in my opinion it will use the same format as UKNES4 without the many other threads. I will stay play this if other people are still posting on it. But with the UKNES4 obviously being too important for this old-fashioned way that isn't likely.

I enjoyed this NES, Toasty thought it out well(these are the old type NESs, the ones where it really was a never ending story get a bit stale for me).

It wasn't das who changed it into a true boardgame style, he actually made this style. It was me who changed it into buying units etc(which to be honest I prefer since it gives more realism to it, rather than "I build a tonne of new ships").

As for the UKNES4, I tried to go back towards the more primitive NESs, as I actually really enjoy them.

Nemesis

One of the thing is that the NESs are essentially tiring. Anyone will get tired of a certain setting, country, storyline etc.

I'm too busy to run this now. It might not seem like it, but I'm not up to writing the timeline and doing the map. I'm leaving for a week on Sat. and I can't do this anyways .

I think that old-style NESes are not dead, just by definition mortal. I would encourage someone more responsible, and less busy, to start up a new one.
