For one, I'm saying that because around here doing something is self-validating ex post facto, and nobody else but me--including yourself--has raised any significant objections to that, I choose to exercise that right.

And for two, it isn't illogical at all. Our current map storage system is total crap. Maps are strewn across at least three map threads and riddled throughout three more alternate-history threads, plus all the ones that exist but somehow don't wind up in either. It's a disaster. Maybe you haven't noticed but people are constantly asking about this, that, or the other thing as far as a time period or map type.

The obvious answer is centralization for easy access and reference. I have decided to implement that. It requires either killing this thread, or asking a moderator to update the front page every time a new map is completed. You tell me which is easier. I think you'll find it was the same choice I made.

And for the record, the first map thread was killed for no apparent reason at 350 posts, and the second at 560. So in that regard there's nothing unusual about this either.

The reason I didn't complain was that it would have been more of a hassle to get the thread removed and go back to a nearly-completed thread. Go ahead, and call me lazy. It is. But calling me that won't change a thing.

On a different note, however, I do support your idea of keeping them in opening posts in your new thread. Are you planning to put any Robinson-projection maps in the opening post, if they are provided to you?

If it's complete, and somebody submits it for addition, I will post it on the front page. Whatever opinions I might have, it's not for me to say what's deserving of being listed and what isn't. As long as procedure is followed I will add what creators deem to be worthy of adding.

Anyway, I'm sending a PM to Chieftess now.
