NES World/Regional Maps Requests Thread

New York as the capital of NEW ENGLAND, and Maine not joining New England.

ARE YOU MAD!

New England is not going to be the actual name. Im coming up with things. Im making a timeline right now.

Also, while Boston is way more likely, just for the name, New YORK. By this point New York City is so important that it founds its own nation, and the new england nations join it. Maine doesn't join for reasons that have been predetermined. However, that could change. This is rough.

And Canadisrael does not come in. I keep biases out of my work. Otherwise Detroit would be screwed. (as would Oakland)

International things also have effects : hydorgen power cell, Kyoto accord and its aftermath, change of governments, exhaustion of resources, global warming, etc.

Politicts have a large effect, and Texas got its right to secede AFTER the civil war. Its the only one that has it.

Instead of calling me crazy, give me suggestions please.

13 years for Canada to reach its map form (2012 - 2025) starts with Quebec
8 years for USA (2017 - 2025) starts with Texas

How'd the Yukon, NWT and Alaska separate?

With Global Warming we're now Prime Agricultural land. :D

Oh, i didn't mean to call you names, just didn't have a lot of time and made quick things i saw were wrong.

Personally, i think that New York, New Jersey, North Penn, and some of the Toronto/the Peninsular Canada area would form a country, and I think New England would form its own country, around Boston with Maine.

New England has a very definate culture and closeness, and i think it would form its own nation.

More to come.

I didnt take it as name calling. I took it as just saying something without giving advice.

That could work.

Im also thinking of New York as a city-state.

*cough* j_eps?

_____

And that would be an interesting city state.

Canada stopped trading with Alberta, and by that point, BC and Saskatchewan. They got their oil from Texas instead. However, based on location, this proved ruinous to Yukon's economy, as well as Alaska's due to the pipelines running through them. Yukon seperated and Alaska joined them.

Native rights got many Canadians to leave NWT and head to Nunavut. This angered NWT who claimed to be BOB (Bottom Of the Barrel) as Canada starting funding provinces based on population, and they joined with Yukon to make money in the oil business.

Prime Agricultural land from May - August yes. ;) :joke: By this point your weather is much like south Ontario today (less snow than Buffalo, who still thinks WE live in igloos.)

Actually, something that I'm thinking of is Virginia taking over D.C. and that whole area, and the US being New England -New York and Maine. Maine seperated from the states BEFORE Virginia left, so they are not part of it. However, there will be rebellions there about people who want to join the US.

Countries (not final, names may change)

USA = New England area.
Capital = Boston (reason for Philly rebellion)

Québec = Québec, Labrador
Capital = Québec City

Maritime Union = Maritimes and Maine
Capital = Halifax

New York = New York City
Capital = Manhatten (Boroughs grow enough to become cities)

Canada = Ontario, Minnesota, Manitoba, Nunavut
Capital = Ottawa

Virginia = D.C. area, Virginias
Capital = Richmond (Might be D.C.)

Florida = Florida, Georgia, Alabama
Capital = Miami (new amalgamated city)

Carolina = NC, SC, Tennessee
Capital = Raleigh

Ohio? = Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, 1/2 of Michigan, Windsor, Sarnia, Chatham-Kent.
Capital = Detroit/Windsor OR Columbus

Illinois? = Illinois, Wisconsin, 1/2 of Michigan, Iowa, Missouri
Capital = Chicago

Texas = Texas
Capital = Dallas

Southern Union = Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma
Capital = rebuilt New Orleans

Dakota = North, South Dakota
Capital = Bismarck

Rocky Mountain Union = Colorado, Kansas, Wyoming, Nebraska
Capital = Denver

Klondike = Yukon, NWT, Alaska, Queen Charlotte Islands
Capital = Whitehorse

Alberta = Alberta, BC, Saskachewan, Montana
Capital = Calgary

Cascadia = Washington, Oregon, Idaho
Capital = Seattle

California = California, Hawaii
Capital = Los Angeles

Aztlan = Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada
Capital = Phoenix

This looks fun even if it is is very unlikely. I really want the Rocky Mountain Union for obvious reasons ;)

I figured as much. NK can't take Michigan though, it's split up :p It is unlikely, but then again so are a lot of Alt-Hists. This is an Alt-Future. things go very differently here mainly with government. That and greed cause nations to split up. One thing that happened in the past was Trudeau alienized Western Canada more than in OTL.

Also, people CONSTANTLY talk about US and Can splitting up. From Oui ou Non debates that still go on, to Vermont voters wanting to leave US in '04, and things like that, this IS possible. Once one person gets independance, everyone wants it.

Ignorant people say lots of things, often without thinking, and often without motive. The loudest people also tend to be the smallest minority. So what's said is really immaterial; it's what's acted on. Plus, it's never what you want that matters; it's whether you can get it. Uncle Sam historically does not take lightly to deserters...

I would sooner expect to see, I don't know, Hugo Chavez become Secretary General of the UN. Portraying it realistically is sort of silly; don't take it too seriously and it should be fine.

First I need a map made with CURRENT borders. I can do everything for a map BUT make borders to start with. I've tried, and lets just say it turned out more like abstract art than a map of the states. It is not necessary, though it would be extremely helpful if cities were placed on that map too. Then I will modify it to the necessary borders, make stats, and put it up. However, I need a map made and that is why it is in this thread.

Native rights got many Canadians to leave NWT and head to Nunavut.
Hmm, I'd think they'd move to the Yukon too, we've got pretty comprehensive land agreements set out.

And what's the oil business? Isn't it near dead now?

The pipeline was started up after the HUGE success of oil sands.

Some of them moved to Yukon, but most moved to Nunavut as it was founded based on native rights.

Looks good, but Union Desert or what ever should be called Aztlan, because thats what the modern day seperatists want to call it:)

True enough. Some will move to Yukon BUT by this point, Canada is fed up with protests (ie Caledonia), and makes Nunavut a territory for ALL natives not just the Inuit.

Also, name changed to Aztlan.
