 that's a funny Limerick, but then again they're supposed to be funny :)

De Vinchi invention may be considered rennisance age.. but they were much more advanced than what we have today.

I saw a TV hshow where they built de-vinchi's plane design and found it it flew even better than the first real flying plane (right brothers? whatever)
He also designed a tank, a helicopter, cannons and stuff... Would be interesting to see (I hope everyone heard about Rise Of Legends!)

I prefer to pronounce it Thayli. What is Thalyli?

From Wikipedia: Thlayli is a fictional character, a rabbit, from the novel Watership Down by Richard Adams. He has a distinctive physical appearance, in that he has a large shock of fur on the crown of his head. In Lapine, his name means "Fur-head," which is translated into Bigwig for English speakers. He is one of the rabbits that leaves with Hazel from the Sandleford warren and constantly answers questions addressed to the other characters.

Ok, I edited the Thlayli thing a little.

“You had me fooled Sahib. I thought your father had finally gotten through to you, but you’ve wanted empire all along. Now you’ll have it and Sokoto’s traditions can be dammed!” shouted Minister Usuman dan Fodio.

Chief Sahib Rashid 'Ali Khan took a moment before answering. Usuman was out of line speaking to a chief in such a way. Sahib respected his opinion though and so didn’t bring up what the ‘traditional’ punishment for such an outburst could entail. “My father believed in this nation, as do I. To let it be swallowed up by the Federated Kingdoms would go against everything my father worked to achieve here.”

“The people do not want an empire or the wars that they bring.”

“We became an empire when we acquired Portugal’s coastal colony!” Sahib took a deep breath then continued more softly “Usman, I am not pursuing war, I am trying to preserving our identity. We were lucky to have the Federated Kingdom on our side, but already they grow tired of us. Ambassador Jayalekshime Mohideu is ignored by Mr. Russell and my messages to him go unanswered. Unless we prove our potency now we risk becoming a province ruled from London.”

Any sources on that? Because I think his only aircraft - apart from the bad helicopter was an ornithopter. And frankly, it's impossible to power a flapping-wing aircraft with human power.

IIRC, the helicopter was actually a glorified parachute, though I could be wrong there.

However, his other designs were very interesting. He even had a heat-engine which would have worked. But it was totally impractical since it only lifted something once. (no capability of repetition of action unlike a combustion engine).

Thy, just wondering. You say your engine isn't an IC engine. But on an EC engine, it doesn't really matter what you burn. You know that right?

No, you shouldn't. Still working on it...

It's was some TV on show where they build old stuff and checked them.
It didn't flew.. but it glided on wing (even thought they didn't built the wing totaly as he did.. so so it could glide) more than the right brothers place AND that with roops to some people who held the woman who flew it so it won't fly away
