I'v been told he's dead... So.. most likly he is...

I think Thayli is talking about the guy tho is currently monarch of Hungary.

Well, I think my idea of a funk song is cooler.

I didn't say that it wasn't.

Although for all those in LINES, the Soul Vortex was pretty damn cool. Especially for Cleric.

A batallion of swordsmen - 1 eco.
A curse that drives you crazy, sucks your soul out and turns you into a zombie - 5 eco.
Exterminating a whole nation - priceless.
For everything else, there is the Soul Vortex.

I believe one of Ferdinand's sons is quite alive. He's currently under the guardianship of the First Consul in Teheran. The Heir to the throne of the Empire will be protected, until such a time when he is able to return to his kingdom.

A large portion of the French nobility is in Persia as well, and they have joined the government of Free France, and the Foreign Legion. They stand in support of the Emperor, as we do.

Didn't rather more of them travel to Hungary? Additionally, the Empire is dead ;), even MacMahon admitted so .

I dont believe an ex-patriot community has ever been able to stage a revolt, so I am relieved.

No idea, ask das. On another note, does anyone remember the name of Ferdinand's son? I'm almost positive that Panda posted it somewhere, but sifting through 200+ pages hasn't gotten me anywhere.

Oh, and does Poland agree to peace or not?

Chapter 14: Unholy Alliance, or Mutual Partnership: The Formation of Free France and the Foreign Legion.

Many contemporary historians argue that Ardashir was out of his mind during his dealings with France. In the colorful account included by Captain Tafaari, an agent of the Eyes and Ears, the Shah's personal intelligence agents forced their way into Paris during some of the early fighting of World War One in France. What they did there was unprecedented, the literal abduction of France's future Emperor, the King of Spain and Mexico, Prince Julien. Apparently it was a wise decision, for surely the young heir would have been slaughtered by Federate assassins with the rest of his family, if he had stayed.

He was taken to Persia and kept there in secrecy for several years, only revealed to the world after the foundation of the Free French government. But that was another problem for Ardashir. He had, by this time, successfully survived several assassination attempts, and a coup, but the powerful group of Gray Turbans that put Ardashir in power was still there. Harboring a Christian Emperor was bad enough, but a Christian government? In addition, Persians rather disliked the thousands of emigres that were pouring into Persia. It had always had a sizable expatriate community, but this was getting ridiculous.

So Ardashir, in order to appease his people and make the emigrants useful, approached the Ambassador Emile Grebert with an interesting offer. Grebert, while holding republican sympathies, was horrified at the atrocities of the Italian Civil War, and supported a gradual transition to democratic rule. In addition, he supported the diffusion of French culture and power abroad, in a way that only an Empire could do. So he fell firmly into the school of Imperial Republicans, one that felt alienated by the rise of the socialists.

A coalition of elements began to gather in Teheran, slowly filtering out of occupied France. Monarchists, imperialists, conservatives of all stripes. Anti-socialist republicans, and even several anarchists. In improvised cafes and coffeehouses set up throughout Teheran, they began to clamor for action. And Persians grew more and more irritated.

So, enter Ardashir's offer. Emile Grebert would form a government, by popular vote of the exiles, and lead it, acting as custodian for the young Emperor. The Imperial Republic of Free France would form, it's capitol and Assembly a former library in the Foreign Quarter.

In addition, the Foreign Legion was inaugurated, intended to be a internationalist fighting force with the twin goals of combating Federate tyranny and restoring a free government in France. Though the various members of the Free French government were often in disagreement over what exact type government it would be, most people assumed that the Empire and peerage of France would be restored, with some republican consessions granted to the masses.

Ardashir and Grebert both won here. It got the annoying emigres off the streets, and formed them into an effective fighting force independent of the Persian Army. In addition, several noblemen of France brought sizable personal fortunes across the Mediterranean with them, and their contributions practically supplied and ran the force itself.

But a strange thing happened several months after the Foreign Legion came into being. Various travelers, adventurers, and freedom fighters from all across Eurasia and the Americas began filtering into Persia, through various legal and illegal means. Gaels, Brazilians, Chinese, Sudanese, Italians. There were volunteers showing up from halfway across the world. Millions had been frustrated and angered by the Federated Kingdoms. There were separatists from America, and even a smattering of Dutch and Danes. Across the globe, people began to truly resent the monstrous British-dominated imperialism that was stretching across the globe. The forced conscriptions and drafts were sending many throughout the Kingdoms into panic, but far more hated the Federates for destroying their nations, and their families.

The Foreign Legion, while primarily still made of Frenchmen, attracted people from around the world that wanted to unite against the global Empire, but had no way in which to do it. It was, in it's own way, the most disunited army in history, being made up of soldiers with a hundred different aims, from a hundred different countries. But in another way, it was the most effective...being the only army in the world made up of men fighting not for Empire, but against it.

And so, the Tricolore with the Cross of Lorraine, St. Jean's personal emblem when fighting the Britons, was raised above Teheran. It was perhaps the first cross raised over the Middle East since the Crusades. And though some Persians resented the Christian presence, others stood in solidarity with them. For they were fellow allies in a struggle that transcended borders and religions.

As Fortress Persia stood virtually alone against the Federates, it was clear that World War One, or the Trans-Hemispheric War as many scholars call it, was now a war of ideas. On one side of the divide, a massive, multinational force stood for the expansion of a worldwide Empire.

And on the other side, a smaller, but equally dedicated multinational force stood against it.

It's more like did Romania agree to my proposal/leave the balkan pact or not. I need an answer to that first :p

It's not just for Poland. FK made their stance clear. And when you compare "all the allies" and Poland, i think i'm a bigger threat to them. Also i'm close to them so i can protect them, whereas if i attacked them you (Persia) can't do squat.
