I'm pretty sure that they dont want a possibly rebellious province that wold be very hard to exterminate.We will keep those lands(Dalmacija,Istra,Zagora,Zagreb),even if we have to perish from the face of the Earth.

It's a small strip of land that means nothing to them and will not hurt them eco-wise,all it could become is a troublesome rebellion.

How so? The first Republic in name was techinically the Puppet French, but it was instated, not voted on. We are the only Republic that was put into power by the people.
