But diesel is heavier than kerosene, mate. ;)

Early U-Boats actually had crude oil engines, which pumped out obscene amounts of white smoke because of the unburnt fuel (try as you might bitumen can't friggin' burn.. :D)

Yes, yes, but internal combustion engines haven't even been created yet, so it doesn't really matter.

At least that gives you a hint, that my project doesn't have a hydrocarbon powered engine. If a steam engine could be compartmentalized (sp?) enough, though...

I would like to see you charging with this thing while not getting shot from someone in a concealed position...

GatlingGun.jpg

Exception being Maxim gun which came 1885 OTL.But even that was bulky that required 4 man teams to operate.

Funny how I withdrew almost all forces from Iraq this turn...

Throwing away lives in a random invasion? Furthermore, losing face by withdrawing from a Muslim power? I doubt that will go down well with the people.

He talked about using it against charging conspricts...

Well obviously the machine gun wins there, its kind of a no-brainer.I was thinking of a different situation.

He didn't say he was withdrawing from Persia. Just from Iraq ;)

Iraq is a big withdrawal, furthermore with some of the holiest sites in Islam. If he gives it up, there is a HUGE morale boost to Persia. If he blows them up to deny the enemy their use, there is a HUGE amount of anger against the Brits. Lose-lose.

Umm... Not for the Sunnis... And I'm sure they're everywhere but Persia.

The morale boost would last until the Federated Kingdoms took the Persian Capital. And other places of consequence.

OOC: Frankly, only Persia really matters in the Islamic world anymore.

Assumption.

Just as your assumption about a morale boost. There could be no morale boost, because they might withdraw only to fight elsewhere.

If the Crusaders gained back Jerusalem, there would be no dispute as to it being a major morale boost.

93 days till World Cup!!!

If the FK had the means to withdraw from Iraq, I am sure they would do so. Before the update, they certainly did. The logistical improbability of supplying and reinforcing a nearly 70 division force, especially through such a vulnerable corridor as the Strait of Hormuz, is pretty high.

If there were some type of naval battle, for example, one that sank a high number of ships in the Strait itself, that would cut off FK access to Iraq.

As such, the defeat of such an army would cause a pretty large drop in Federate morale...as would any failed attempt to take Shiraz. I've learned my lessons from the Central Asian wars, and almost getting destroyed by silver, the most important lesson being that the enemy can't be allowed unrestricted access to your core territories. Hence, the introduction of the E.C.

With the most accomplished corps of engineers on Earth, building world-class fortifications is much easier than it was in the past, especially to defend against a large, albeit undersupplied, but disciplined army that the FK has.

Thanks NK. As you suggested, every aspect of the strategy was taken into account.

...

That was a pretty long and boring speech. Someone remind me not to do that again. ;)

EDIT: Iggy, I asked das to invest your economy points into the Balkan Pact logistics. I also reorganized Turkish troops into the multinational force, as long as you approve.

EDIT2: With the exception of the Iraqi Sunnis, most of the other Sunnis in the Islamic world are cooperating with Persia against the greater...uh...challenge of the FK. Examples include Sudan, Turkey, the Afghans, Indian Muslims, Wahhabite Arabs, etc, etc.
