I wasn't talking about Venice (though there are lots of fun things you can do with Venice I'm sure  ), but if someone took one of big nations and didn't send orders...well those who don't get to play aside, It'll just lead to a repeat of the FK vrs Portugal/France situation from NES2V

Rather ominously this thread has already exceeded NES2V's 15 pages before update one...

Did you see me quoting you?I was talking generally to das about the lack of orders.

And Venice is boring, all they have is a fat duzd that plays chess all day and constantly orders secure trade!SECURE TRADE!

Deadline came, deadline stays, and update will come!

EDIT: And nice kitten, tossi. ;)

Hihi ;). Do you want more? Do you want more?

There aren't too many nations here, which only makes my emphasis on the player commitment stronger. If you don't have time for furious diplo exchange, conniving intrigue and complete orders (as opposed to just long orders - under "complete orders" I mean orders that cover all the subjects that need covering in orders, hopefully in a precise, clear manner), then don't play, or at least don't play as a major power.

!!!

And now, on a serious note:

Les Nouvelles Atlantiques Editorial Column; April 8th 1741: A Matter of Some Urgency

It has been commented by many a Grand Lord of the Kingdom, or man of the Admirality, that the recent penchant for wearing a bold three cornered hat is a true and easy way of telling a fool of fashion, from a fool of the truest sense! The questionableness of the urge to take some reflected glory from the brave victories of his magesties fleet abroad not withstanding; many a man makes himself appear a buffoon indeed - by failing to wear the headcover correctly. Do you think some dashing seaman of the Merchent Marine, about to embark on some ridiculously profitable venture in the Far East, would wear his hat with a broadside presenting to the wind, as no less than four gentlemen I saw on my journey to my place of business did? No! Such a thing would be blown off in a trice! If you cannot wear such a statement well, wear it not at all, and return to the capotain or cap which better befits your station. As for those who decorate their Mariners with frills and the like, as a former Navy man myself, if indeed my stay was brief; such an mode whould have seen a man laughed out of the galley. No, a brief stripe of colour, less definately being more, and a few badges perhaps, can do more on the head of a man of repute that the most outrageous embellishment. I beg of you, civilian men of the ports I have visited over the last few monthes, cease this embrassment!

When was the deadline? x_x

I'd like to join... but is there anything left?

I missed the deadline too!! :(

Darnit.

emu, you can have England.

I just realized that North King dropped Afghanistan earlier, so...

Nation Background: When Mir Vays Khan Hotak, leader of the Afghan Hotaki clan, claimed de facto independence for the Pashtuns in the region of Kandahar in 1709, he probably didn't even suspect that soon after his death, his son Mir Mahmud, would, no more no less, conquer Persia. But anyway, he did, although some western provinces were taken by the Turkish ravens. Having defeated a Persian rebellion, Mir Mahmud died, leaving his empire in disarray. His children only barely defeated the Abdali Afghan rebels, not falling to any great powers only thanks to the generally devastated state of their territory and some well-done diplomatic maneuvering between the Mughals, the Turks, the Russians and the Portuguese, the latter becoming genuine allies in exchange for a base in Bandar e-'Abbas, and perhaps for future use against Mughals or Turks.

tossi, you have AIM?

Yeah, someone did.

Damnit damnit damnit.

Yeah I took the Afghans, and I sent orders too! Even better, they went out more than an hour before the deadline, woohoo!

I think all but Eithophia are free.

OOC:

Question:

Size. Do I have to pay the Size cost to increase a stat?

Answer:

Yes, but not all stats. Things like infrastructure, education, etc.

Example: Portugal (size 5) wants to grow education = has to pay 5 eco points
