This, good citizens, is no time for dissent. This, citizens, is the time to stand united. We cannot, whilst foriegn enemies pursue a dream of revenge, and whilst those greedy of our might and wealth plot, continue to ignore or support those insurgent groups within our Empire. If we, as a people, as an empire, and as a great civilization, are to withstand the test of time we must find it in ourselves to overcome our petty differences, and to present a unified front to those who would oppose us.
Look at these Egalitists and traitors! Look at this fools who would wish for our nation to crumble, who would wish, in our place, a separated Europe, a Europe in chaos - A Europe much like the one which Julien, the founder of our great Empire, fought so hard to destroy. We cannot allow ourselves to fall apart - all of western civilization depends on it. We, in essence, are the analogue of Atlas. We, in essence, hold up this world. Therefore we, singlehandedly, must find it within ourselves to press on, to perservere, and to ultimately defeat those who would seek to destroy us. These Egalitists wish for revolution, and wish for the downfall of the Empire. But really, where would our Empire be without the government? Without the Senate? and above all, without the Emperor? The Empire provides you, the good citizen, with all which you have become accustomed to - healthcare, standard wages, pensions. The empire provides you with what the Egalitists say can only be brought through revolution.
This is all lies!
Without the Empire, and without its great institutions, there can be nothing - there can only be a return to savagery, savagery and despotism. Egalitism urges for the equality of man, yet in reality will result in the subservience of man, the oppression of man. In the Egalitist system, there is no freedom, there is no voice of the people - there is simply represssion.
There is equality, indeed, but it is an equality of poverty, an equality of tyranny. In anarchy there can be no freedom - there can only be chaos. Without the Empire, your livelihood will be lost completely. Your wages will be lost, your property and homes will be lost. All shall be consumed by the government, and you shall find yourselves in much greater repression than was ever inflicted upon a people before. And this, my good comrades, is what they strive for. They strive for anarchy, and for their own power. Anarchy, animals. They are much the same. For should we succumb to their revolution, should we find ourselves entranced with their lies and malicious propaganda, we shall, in the end, subject ourselves to a condition of wilderness, and of darkness.
The angry thorn of Nationalism, something which entices so many, is also dangerous, perhaps even moreso than the thorn of Egalitism. For where Egalitism speaks of revolution, Nationalism speaks of partition. And partition is a word which we must excorcise from our vocabulary. If the Empire were ever to partition, then Europe, as a whole, shall find itself rapidly eclipsed. We shall degenerate into our previous cycle of conflict, and there shall be no progress. Foriegners and barbarians, without the Empire to stop them, shall run rampant accross the world - and shall destroy all which we have worked so hard for. Freedom will be extinguished.
Europe and the Empire, once a beacon of civilization, once the champion of freedom, will find itself in the dark age once more. We are the Romans of our era - strong and civilized, the defenders of all which is good and which is right. Beyond us, and even, now with this new threat, within us, lie the barbarians. We cannot allow ourselves, as the Roman Empire allowed itself, to succumb to decadence, and thus, to open our gates to foriegn intrusion. We cannot allow ourselves to split into two, three, or four parts. We cannot, definately, to succumb to a condition of barbarity, being engulfed by barbarians ourselves. If we fall, Europe falls. If Europe falls, then thus goes the world. Decades, no, centuries of progress shall be lost. Chaos will engulf our world and there shall be no light on the horizon!
Thusly, I urge you. Remeber these words, take them to your heart, and embrace them as your mantra - Un Gens, Un Empire, Un Empereur! One people, one empire, and one emperor. This is the essence of our civilization! These are the columns upon which civilization, and the world as a whole, stand. Cast out from your hearts the traitors, cast out the foriegn belligerents and barbarians. We cannot hold delusions of a "better" and "free" world - for we are already the best, and we are already the most free of the peoples on this planet. Freedom of wealth, freedom of power, freedom of security - I count these as equally as I count a vote, as I count a newspaper! What is more important, the freedom to disparage our leaders, and to invite ourselves to destruction, or the freedom to live a good life - a life in which much is provided by the Empire, and to support the bulwark of civilization? I, unequivocally, state the second, and I think you will come to the same conclusion.
However, for all our progress, there will always be dissenters, always those which clamour for more, or which clamour for drastic change. These people cannot be tolerated. They are barbarians, they are less-than-human. They, in accordinance with our foriegn enemies, wish for nothing but the destruction of the state. Therefore, should they wish upon us destruction, we shall bring upon them destruction which is infinately worse. These traitors, no matter what, must be, and will be crushed, smashed, defeated, and destroyed. Their supporters, those foriegn powers which would provide them money, must too be destroyed. There can be no mercy in such times as these.
I urge you, the citizen, to remain vigilant aswell, and to aid us in our goal of supressing and destroying the traitors. I ask you, when you see indecent activities, to report it as treason. I ask you, when you come upon hearsay, to denounce the hearsayers, and to report treason. I ask you, when the traitors come and give you arms for a revolution, I ask you to take those arms and to bring them down with that which they have given you. If the authorities are occupied - take action into your own hands, and destroy the traitors.
We are, as always, presented with a choice.
Either we allow this to be our finest hour, or we shall resign it to be our final hour.
