Lurker's Comment: I about not resisting the temptation to send orders for ICNES, Kentharu.

Enough with the spam. And I know the irony of using a spammy post like this to decry spam but ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in the time panda had his orders i could have gotten a more polished version of what i sent >_<

So what did they said? oh nothing, apparently the King of Poland thinks we are fools that live in cardboard boxes. The man stood up from his table and looked outside. It was raining pretty hard, but it was stilll strangely quiet as there were no thunders. Finnaly he had compiled a series of documents that would soon become 'The Egalitarian Manifesto'. This book outlined several ideas that created the ideology and explained its causes. Soon he would get it printed in mass and sent to every corner of the world. It would in a way be the same thing Marthin Luther had done centuries ago, start a revolution. But this time the Holy Roman Empire would collapse and the revolution be succesful. A revolution that was not based in national identity, but the idealism of freedom and fraternity w/ all citizens of the world. A worldwide Egalitarian revolution perhaps. It was still only a dream and after all the HRE the strongest power the world had ever seen. The manhunts grew stronger and it was harder to maintain the underground networks. In fact foreign aid was imposible as everyone feared the little emperor. but despite that the strugle was to continue. A thorn in the french powerhouse that would not go away. If the nations of the world realised that france was weak, or most importantly dangerous, then they could unite and destroy it. But that was not to happen, the world was full of cowards, petty followers and puppets.

"I still think we should arm ourselves, should the current rebellion situation worsen."

"I've gone over this Steven. We cannot arm, we are gaining independence through peace. We won't give a reason for the PUAF to destroy us."

"Arming ourselves for defense is not an aggressive action Michael."

"It can easily be construed as one. Every pro-PUAF group will be declaring our intents to rebel-"

"To hell with them! We won't get a thing done through purely peaceful actions in this situation."

"And if we armed, what? No one here can hope to fight the power of the PUAP backed by none other than the Holy Roman Empire. The rebels will soon be crushed. If we keep away from that, there will be no reason to be arrested. I'm sure you have good memories of the French penal system Steven."

"There was no charge. Don't be an idiot about that."

"You'll note that I haven't been arrested. It's a matter of method. You tried promoting active resistance and were seized. I promote peaceful independence, and am untouched."

"You'll note that you made less of an impact, Mr. Horn, with your editorials than I did with leading resistance then being freed."

"Steven, small scale resistance perhaps, but I repeat, we CAN'T fight such powerful nations, at least not without a backer. And no one sane would stand against France."

"Perhaps I am insane then. But it is people like me who cause the great changes in this world."

"The world has changed Steven! Look what happened to Lisbon! And that was a nation with a history of independence!"

Steven was silent for some time.

"Please understand me. Freedom through democracy is the only logical way to go. If we were to fight the PUAF, even if we were successful in every goal, we would lead a nation estranged from the dominant power of the world, surrounded by that power's friends. Through peaceful independence, we can maintain good relations and not have people suffer. It is the best of both worlds Steven."

"I still see it as spineless."

"I still see your ways as pigheaded. But our goals are the same. We can co-operate on that at least."

"Indeed. But it is getting late. A storm's coming, and I don't want to get caught outside at this time of year."

"Goodbye Steven."

Steven put on his coat, and without a word departed. Michael Horn walked back over to his writing table and resumed preparing his editorial for the next edition of The Continental Newspaper.

FCP Member Profile: Michael Horn

Party Rank: Party Leader
Occupation: Newspaper Editor
Age: 41

History: Born in 1741, Michael Horn was raised in a relatively well-off family in the city of Toronto. He received a quality education in his youth, and traveled overseas to study in several European Universities. Sometime during this period, he came into contact with the Egalitiste movement. He was inspired by their ideals, though he never fully adopted them.

Upon returning to North America, Horn began to realize the large social and financial gap growing between francophone and non-francophone Americans. He started a newspaper, The Continental, first as an occupation, but he gradually came to use it as an outlet of his political opinions.

In 1779, Horn and several like-minded men founded the Free Canada Party to represent the English and other minority populations in French America. Horn's earlier contact with the Egalitistes appeared slightly in his party's platform, pushing for legislation helping the poor and middle class. Despite this, Horn doesn't consider himself to be an Egalitiste, but simply a 'representative of the everyman'. Despite his wealth from owning a popular newspaper, Horn is a highly charitable man, setting up several houses for the poor to help shelter them until they could find work again and investing heavily into local companies to strengthen the economy of a someday independent Canada.

FCP Member Profile: William MacKinnon

Party Rank: 2rd in Command, Party Treasurer
Occupation: Manager of Shipping Company
Age: 54

History: William MacKinnon was born in Glasgow in 1729 to a rich family entrenched in the naval trade. He was virtually left out of his father's will, being the least favourite of three children. His older brothers tricked him into selling them the few shares he received while intoxicated, then left him without money. MacKinnon was forced to find work on an eastern trading ship, bringing him everywhere from the South America to India. In several extended leaves in France, he became a member of the Egalitiste movement, and although he would repeatedly leave, many of the groups values would stay with him.

After many years of faithful service and demonstrations of a skilled financial mind, MacKinnon gradually rose through the ranks, eventually becoming a part-owner of the trading company then being elected chairman.

After decades, MacKinnon finally got a small vengeance against his older brothers by buying out their company.

In the early 1770s he settled in Canada and ran the North American branch of the company. He became involved in municipal politics, and at sometime during this period met Michael Horn. He helped to found the Free Canada Party, and now has a high-ranking position in it.

Compared to most members of the FCP, MacKinnon is rather right-wing, but he still holds many Egalitiste values from his time in France.

Critics have often pointed out that MacKinnon's support of the FCP is merely due to possible financial advantages should the party succeed, which he has consistently denied.

Are you playing the anglo-canadian rebels?

The less derranged, less violent, more moderate branch. ;)

Well fax, he'll just have to be the pacifistic type who does diplo and crap.

EDIT: das worded it quite nicely.

I rather hate to do this sort of stuff, as I hope you know, but not much seems to be happening yet at all and I am not sure if I can muster the interest necessary to continue this particular NES. That, in essence, was what I said before I killed NES2 IV, and what I said on numerous other occasions before waving it all off, regaining interest and continuing the NES for at least a few more updates. But I do feel that perhaps it would be for the best for this to die and for me to rest for a while, recuperate from my violent cold of which stalin006 is probably aware and begin a gargantuan task of resuming the ITNES (all those people - NK and Sheep, if you want usernames of the scapegoat candidates :p - that worked incessantly to remind me about that and caused me to regain interest in it far earlier than I expected are to blame, ofcourse). Then again, perhaps not; this does have great promise, and actually lots of things are going on, its just that most of them are happening behind the curtain right now.

So I figured I might as well ask for your opinion while I'm working on the update. Mind, I'll probably finish this one anyway...

Restart ITNES? Or a new ITNES altogether?

I'm happy either way, I'm sure I can find a spot in ITNES.

That'd be good. I prefer a new one altogether, of course, but oh well.

Anyway, either way is good, I'm good with this NES. I'd like ITNES more, but I'd have a lot of work on my hands...

Do you mean finish this update or finish this NES? :mischief:, because you damn well better finish the update! If its excitement you want you should have said - I'll delcare war on whoever or whatever! Come on Brazil lets get too it!

That said I really wouldn't have a problem with returning to ITNES, but the gigantic monoliths that exist currently are somewhat off putting...but hopefully you'll deal with that somehow ;).

No to new ITNES!

One thing I definitely won't do is start a NEW ITNES. As I already said, sooner or later I will restart ITNES I. I'll probably still try to lead this to some logical conclusion first, though, come to think of it...

EDIT: I meant that I will definitely finish THIS update, Dis.

but the gigantic monoliths that exist currently are somewhat off putting...

We don't really have any gigantic monoliths here, do we? :p Don't worry. I have lots of plans for ITNES. That's pretty much the problem really.
