NESLife attempt #3

Hmm, not sure about all these land zones. Maybe a hot/cold divide will appear this update. I definately wont make any more divisions than that until there are lots of land living species.

Im trying to finish the update for my main NES before i update this. If i can do that in the next couple of days, then ill possibly update this on friday.

Have you noticed that there are more people involved in this NES, and it's easier to update?

Yes, and im always fantasising about making DNES this easy to update. It helps when you know each hour is 33 to 50 % of the total required, instead of 1 to 10 % :)

In my NES I use stats bars which means the updates only require copy & pasting, changing numbers and a paragraph of text. I consider fifteen minutes a hard slog never mind 2-3 hours.

Well done though for keeping this NES and another one going.

Oh I'm from all over the shop. I've got RPGs and attempted MMORPGs in every nook & cranny of the internet. The longest running one is my Aliensthetruth members RPG: http://www.aliensthetruth.com/scripts/msgboard/viewtopic.php?t=1450&start=550 http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/A12757421 . It's been going off & on for 14 months with about 200 updates, the irony is that there has only been two frequent players.

My favourite one I created was Ancestoria which lasted about a week before it became too complecated but rather than stopped posting I allowed barbarians to sack the place. The original thread is gone but the stats are still there: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/A13961793

My favourite one that someone else has done was BETA, the sequel to Alpha. It was a hilarious sci-fi comedy soap, the people are fanatastic, they allowed the spotlight to move around and everyone at h2g2 are comic geniuses. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/A5942207

I was on Hall of Wonders at Heavengames forums however those boards are rediculously regulated. You can't even breathe without breaking the rules, so I left. http://aow.heavengames.com/cgi-bin/forums/display.cgi?action=t&fn=11

I'm hesitent to join or start any here because I'm going to Indonesia shortly, but I will return and maybe one day I shall.

I hope that answers your question!

Wow, I can't believe the Hall of Wonders Board actually regulates the content of the RPs... That's sad.

I'm exclusively on this site, though I wrote a store at 'Temple of Ryoken' and check out 'The Frontier' from time to time. Plenty of us here have major Apolyton connections.

WARNING (Lurker): First time I played a NES was at Apolyton, but after it fell apart I stopped there and didn't come back to NESing until recently.

Not like any of you care :p

But maybe not the right thread for it...

I find it funny that roleplaying sites have sort of been set up indepedently from each other with different names and standards. I have never heard it been called 'NESing' since I came here, neither had a seen diplomacy games that are actually still running. Different strokes for different folks I suppose. There is a strong civilization undertone that runs through the board games here.

I read that and was thinking- he's on a Civilization fan forum, what does he expect? :crazyeye:

Have i given a creature for the next update?

Not yet Abaddon, just made a few comments on the soil thing. Just went through the posts quickly to make sure I did submit mine also =)

right, so a worm, a land plant eater.. guess i make the plant... i'll scurry off and see what there is to evolve from!

Luchen: Abaddon
Evolved from: Lichen
Genes (5): Photosynthesis x2, Water Retention x1, Roots x1, Stem x1.
