Info: Crawls around slowly on basic legs, but can still jump up and swim short distances. Burrows into other larger creatures parasitically merging with them, feeding itself and slowly over the course of time assimilating the genetic strain and processes of host animals.
Size: tiny-small
Habitat: warm, shallow ocean floor
Eats: plankton, feeds of other creatures energy
Energy: very low-low
Population: to be determined by daft
Origin: Epoch 2(to be determined by daft)

Now, for a story before the next generation.
After thousands of Generations, the Paddleworm had become the Flapperworm. But evolution is never satisfied. Mutations occur, and development advances further.
The Flapperworms were suffering from high predatation. They were fleshy, and a pleasant meal whenever caught by other predators, even from their own species.
Strains with toughened skin, then eventually armoured plates began to develop. They grew larger, adding to their defenses, but this came at a cost. It was tremendously difficult to get enough food. So these creatures began to utilize other energy sources. They became omnivorous, and began preying on the numerous forms of algae in the oceans of the world. Following these plants floating around the ocean, the wandering Shellions have become ubiquitous around the globe.
OOC: I'll do stats for this one after you've got your other species handled.
BTW, to save you some work, I've done a pic for you. You can do your shading on it if you want.
BTW Daft, will some of the older creatures go extinct as the specialists become dominant? If only to save you a stat headache.

That interesting Iggy I'll edit a story into this post with the next evolution of the Exoskeleblob.
Exoskeleblob Mk II
The first adapation of the Exoskeleblob was a light exoskeleton like those on Shrimp and insects.But the newer blobs are forming much tougher shells along the density of a lobster shell.As well as slowly dropping in body mass as the shell takes alot of energy to grow and the larger Exoskeleblog would have to constantly eat to form its own shell.They have dropped persisly 2/8 ths of body mass in this jump of evolution.To show a pic of what the new exoskeletons thickness is would be along these lines.

The former shell of the Exoskeleblob was a thick as a shrimps skin or exoskeleton.It has now nearly tripled in thickness but also causes weight to slow down the Blob.As it moves into ever shallower water it begins to feed on the Super Sea Algea to feed its energy needs.

Using their speed to their advantages, they quickly gained an advantage upon smaller species. Like their earlier counterparts, hoever, they can go use their advatagous speed for a small amount of time. Posses rudimentary eyes, and a basic nervous system.

Habitat: Along the east coast of the main island.
Eats: Through they will prey on anything smaller than themselves except alge, their favorite prey would be the earlier fastblobs or crawlers.
Energy: low-medium
