NesofWar: The Eagles Soar

OOC: I find it interesting how some senators have the clairvoyance to detect corruption and apathy before it even exists, and furthermore believe in "guilty before innocent." It's like watching an actual political debate! Do keep it up, it's a thrilling read.

OOC: I know. It sure is interesting, isn't it? But to clarify, Senator Mann didn't declare Senator Smith guilty, but simply under charges. And even though Senator is not guilty, he cannot participate in Senate session under suspicion. And Bill of Rights hasn't been ratified yet.

Ok people, we are ready to start.

Senators: You do not need to send orders, unless you are endorsing some one or have a secret plan you want carried out, so do not worry. I will bring up though the Issue of 1789 shortly.

Major General Timothy Hammond and Johnathan Plymouth Smith: You will each take 3,000 Infantry, 2,000 Cavalry, and 25 Artillery Guns each to Ohio and Kentucky respectively, where you will aid settlers from Indian attacks, so please send me orders that you are moving to your respective locations

Presidential Candidates Please send me orders with your name, Political Party, and a Speech for what you stand on Politics. Be sure to address every issue. I will also be Private messaging you a issue you must make a debate on.

@propogandist, if you really want to, you may have him

@dld, Georgie's dead

@darkening, What year is it? 1789?

What exactly happened to the people that fought the Revolution? They exist, but have all retired to the country

"What happened to all of those who signed that Declaration? And since I'm assuming they didn't drop off the face of the planet, why are they so quiet? Chased out of Philadelphia by unpaid soldiers. Ruined their careers

Permission to make a separate Senate thread? or you can make it yourself.

And neverwonagame3 requests confirmation of the issue on the IC action carried out by my character to temporarily suspend him from the current session of the Senate.

Oh, dld, that would be wonderful if you made a separate Senate thread

@dld, can you please quote what neverwonagame said? Cannot find it :(

@bestshot, they do not have to be real :)

OOC: [...] We shouldn't assume the guards evict anyone until Warhead confirms.

There you go. Basically, can he be forced out from current session of the Senate, by actions IC? And whether his OOC mistake is subject of IC punishment by IC. Surely, you've read my charges against Senator Smith IC?

Last post for now

1) If I am not mistaken, Albert Gallatin and Ernest Brock are the only people running for President, so I might start a Presidential thread too

2) I am tapping out the party limit at 4 for now

3) The Guards

a) Don't care about politics

b) are bored to tears

c) Jump at any chance to evict someone (They really do)

So yes. If some one is going hysterical, playing too OOC, or just blubbering, then the guards can give them a time out (They can still vote on issues and such, but they aren't allowed to give speeches for one turn)

I mean this:

Senator Smith spoke, and quoted, in response to personal correspondence from Senator Mann to Senator Gallatin. Senator Mann, then, charged Senator Smith with political espionage, etc. Senator, under charge and suspicion of guilt may not participate in Senate session representing his state in defendant's status.

Also, Warhead, if you please, could you NPC a Virginia state judge and deal with the issue? I have provided evidences and witnesses.

Name: Pete Sinclair

Home State: Maryland

Command: Infantry

Location: Baltimore, Maryland

Army: ?

Bio: Pete had served as a young officer in the revolution. He was the son of a well-to-do cobbler in Baltimore. He was fiercely anti-British, along with most of his friends, and so when the war started up, he volunteered to join. Because of his educated background (his father was able to put him through college) he was commissioned as an officer. He found Army life to his liking, and hasn't left.

I, Aaron Burr, do hereby announce my candidacy for the President of these united States.

(I do have experiance with military stuff)

OOC:
Well duh.(point down.)

I wish I can change parties: I didn;t notice the new party and that one is better to describe what I want.

psst, you have to be 35

Warhead:

1. When are orders due?
2. How long should the speech be?

1) By the 10th, but hopefully sooner

2) As long as you would like, but the populace would like that it explains your opinions, but is not full of fluff

Name: William Grayson (53 Years Old)
Position: Senator of Virginia
Location born: Woodbridge,Virginia
Party: Freedom First
Bio: Attended Oxford University, and then returned to practice law, and subsequently fight in the Continental Army. He served as an aide-de-camp to George Washington. Was head of the POW commision, and then shortly thereafter became the head of the Congressional Board of War. He, as an anti-federalist, strongly opposed the ratification of the United States Constitution. Before his senatorial apointment, he served on the Confederate Congress as the representative from Virginia.

I'm going to quit as Charles Smith (it was an OOC mistake that brought me down, simply following standard practice in NESes) and soon rejoin as a diffrent character.

Name: Thomas Jefferson (46 years old)
Position: Ambassador to France (I know, not a senatorial position but a historically accurate one)
Location born: Shadwell, Virginia
Party: Democratic-Republican

To: Members of the Senate
From: Edward J. Mann

Although I cannot attest for measure of the loyalty and sincerity of Senator Gallatin's allegiance to United States and its Constitution, I must point out some, say, mistakes in the due process of qualifying the candidates for upcoming election for the office of the President. As you know he is not a naturally born citizen - he was born in Switzerland and moved to America only nine years ago, which barely qualifies him as a Senator now - nor has he been residing in the States for at least fourteen years; this, according to the Constitution, does not qualify Senator Gallatin as one of the candidates for Presidency. Perhaps he should try again next election.
