I have a little problem with this civ.

The Transylvanian Citys didn't founded by Romanian People.
The citys like: Arad; Cluj Napoca; Timisora; Brasov and the others founded by hungaryans and Romans.

My Opinion is: If you delete the Transylvanain citys from this civ the Romanian civilisation will be genuine.

First off where are you from?? Mt guess would be you are Hungarian correct? I will not have this thread turn into a debate of cultures. The reason why I chose this city list is that they CURRENTLY lie within the borders of Romania I personally dont care who founded the city. If I ws doing an ethnic Romanian civ then yes these cities probably would not be included. And just so you know magyar my girlfreind is Romanian and she loves the work I have done so as far as I concerned its near perfect as is , if you dont like how its done then make one for yourself.

Sorry if I came off a little harsh, but it is something I feel stongly about. My work is mine and unless I'm not happy with what I have done it hard to get me to change it. As I have said preiviously I have had a great deal of help from Romainan freinds in making this mod as well as some input from Romanians from this community. And over all this mod has attained a degree of accuracy that I had intended.

To adress the web site you linked me to. The information contained there is well known to me as Dacian history has become a bit of an obsession of mine recently My girlfreind is from Cluj (go figure ) But as the author of the site freely admits in his first paragraph there is no written record of migrations during the Roman withdrawl and the subsequent century following. Now it is my understanding from my own research that the Romanian claim to their territory is based on the fact that they are decended from the Getai ( the most powerful of the Thracian tribes during the Roman expantion) Now I find it hard to believe that just because the Romans could not hold the province of Dacia and withdrew ( most probably with all roman settlers) the orginal inhabitants would not have left as while they had adopted many Roman customs and even thier language they still would have felt a link to their lands and would not have abandoned their cities just because the Romans ran away ( I know its not quite that simple ) So I guess what Im saying is I can see your point of veiw but from my persective I see it differently. Thats one of the beautiful things about history you can interpret they same inforamtion differently from person to person

Yeap - as a great romanian historian ( Nicolae Iorga ) said once - "History is 20% facts and 80% interpretations ... ". )

P.S. : Anyway - most cities in Transilvania was founded by germans ( austrians ) - except the ones which already existed and was founded by the Romans in antiquity and resettled/rebuilded.

Ok so the Warlords version is almost ready. I have a sneek peak of Mihai Viteazul for you all. Unfortunately I have had to take some artistic liberties with this leaderhead from the orginal picture I have of him.

White sometimes shows as too bright for LHs (due to the background light). You may want to try making his armor more greyish so that the detail can be seen.

If you want him added as a 2nd Romanian leader for CIV Gold, let me know (and provide the info).

Noooo - please no !!

Add please his hat back !! Those fur-hats ( damn !! didn't know a translation for romanian "cushme" ... ) is the most distinctive part for Wallachians noblemans in that age.
All "noblemans-guard" members wear such a fur-hat with peacock plume - please add it back ! Pleaseeee ...

Unfortunately Mitiu I cannot add the hat. I wish I could but alas I am not good in 3dsmax or blender. I have tried repeatedly to get someone to add the hat to a Brennus leaderhead but have failed on many attempts. If he had the hat I would be satisfied too, but as he stands now Im not. orginallly I was going to use the Mehmed II LH but I didnt have a MehmedII.dds file to be able to do the correct editing so I was left with this. Untill someone volunteers to put a hat on him I am stuck unfortunately. Sorry

Historically speaking - he is a ( very ) minor ruler of Wallachia.
Of course ... Bram Stoker and later Hollywood movies made him look much more significant that he really was, but this is other disscusion.

I will use him when he is done. However I really do wish for Mihai Viteazul to be done correctly with his cushme hat. At this point I plan to release the mod as is with the plans to complete the Leaderhead.

Send me a good pic of the hat and I'll see what I can go. My skills with Blender are about 1/20th of those of someone like C.Roland, but I'll see what I can do.

The plume is almost certainly not going to make it, but you really can't see it in an animation in any case.

He looks good to me but Ill leave it to the experts at to how they think he looks.
