I don't know if anyone as done this before in another thread but have you ever tried to win the game with a no improvement game. This is you can't build any kind of improvement in your cities. I think it would be fun!:)

1st rule - Improvements from conquered cities must be sold
2nd rule - capitalization is not an improvement

PS: more suggestions for rules are accepted

Note: This kind of rules don't allow space race unless there can be opened an exception for the appolo program (or someone else builds it for you) and for the space ship modules.

Easy!

In the last GOTM (#15) I built no improvement at all and conquered the world before 2000BC. On king level!

Seems abit limiting really because it just makes the player have to concentrate on early wars...

At higher levels I always play like this, very agressive. Just crush everyone else and win early. Just keep the cities small (4 or 5) and they won't be unhappy and that without temple or anything. Another advantage: no improvements no costs!

I see that you've already try it before!!
Thank's for your opinions!

Now i'll try this "old"strategy in my games... but only after i forgot Transport Tycoon (i got addicted a bit, i confess).

Yeah, great, but if you play this way, aren't you kind of missing the point? I understand trying to win as fast as possible in the GOTM, and you could say 'let's just see if I could win without building any improvements', but the object is to build a civ that will stand the test of time? Right?
