Hey all,

New hotfix inbound. It's a little larger than a usual hotfix, so I wanted to start a new thread for it. I've tested a few saves from 12-13 and they worked fine for me, so caveat emptor. I'm leaving 12-13 up in the event it fails for you.

  • A few bugfixes
    • Fixed TR yield scaling issue and added some more info to UI on distance
    • CS rewards now processed as instant yields for notifications and sanity (so they'll better integrate into the unified system for yields, show up in notification log, etc.)
    • All unit experience gains (not from combat) scale with gamespeed (you made me do this)
    • Text fixes.
  • Balance
    • Pantheon - Purity loses +1p on lakes

Online as of 11:20pm EST. Savegame compatible.

I'll be out of pocket for the next few weeks, so have fun, everyone!

Also, for those keeping score, I'm officially on the Nice list. :)

Is it just me, or does the initial handicap scalar seem out of whack? In my Morocco game, I started on a Forested Hill, meaning I had a Shrine up in 5 turns, and I met La Venta first, for 9 faith, and I was still the last player to reach a Pantheon. That seems a bit... obscene. I mean, I wasn't expecting to be in the upper half, but I had maybe 3 viable Pantheon choices (Sun for Wheat, Purity for Lake, maybe Springtime for Plantation) and they all went.

Same here. I reduces BonusC to 300, seemed okay

I thought the AI did not get bonus Faith from difficulty handicaps at all? Only food, production, science, culture, and gold. I have noticed it quite hard to found as a non-religion focused Civ, but that's usually the case as I play with 12-14 Civs, so the odds of a few of those being India, Celts, Byzantium, Spain, etc. is pretty high.

They do not get faith.

@Gazebo can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the AI doesn't get bonuses from its first settled city. (Or at least that was what we agreed upon in difficulty thread as a more elegant way to avoid giving AI early pottery.)

Odd. How am I so consistently being beaten to Pantheons when I wasn't before? I've restarted a few games and I am finding it significantly difficult not to be dead last to a Pantheon, every time. If they're not getting Faith boni from anywhere, I don't quite understand how that's happening.

Better AI prioritization. They gettin gud.

So far, I'm having a nicer time in Ancient / Classical when AIhandicaps are 5 (Emperor base) * 2.5 = 12.5
With 'I don't have any early bonuses' France, I'm last civ in almost everything, but it was expected. I could try later with an even lower early bonus. If France is in the middle in early game without an amazing start, I'll know the handicap is too low.

Priorization doesnt explain how several AI can found pantheons before me, even I build shrine first with forest/money help and CS believe.
Ive noticed this several times and it really sucks. Even iam playing only on king difficulty.

In my own game couple of hours before i found Ruins that gave me 87:c5faith: (on Epic), and i did not have pantheon yet! And couple of weeks ago, when me and @ElliotS, were plaing MP i found a Ruin after founding pantheon and it gave me 250:c5faith:!
@Gazebo, i think Ruins should not grant faith at all, or it might be reducet to 15 or 20 at maximum

No offense, but if you can't found on King, it's a matter of skill, not bad luck. I am founding on Emperor frequently, and Immortal a healthy minority of the time.

There's definitely something up. Everyone is getting pantheons before turn 20. Are faith ruins popping earlier now? Does the AI swarm faith CSs with their warriors as gifts?
