New Job Openings at Firaxis

Firaxis is still working on Civ IV.

The only thing that will change is who owns the rights to the game (that is, who calls the shots) and who will publish the game (almost certainly not Atari now).

It's incorrect. The Civilization franchise didn't belong to Firaxis, it belonged to Atari/Infogrames.

Firaxis never owned the franchise. Atari did. Now someone else does and Firaxis is developing for them instead. Since the new hiring postings came after the sale of the franchise, I can only imagine that the new publisher wants more from the franchise (and is willing to pay for it) than Atari did.

While there has not been an official statement, the Firaxians I've talked about it with seem ecstatic about the new franchise owner.
