It is a medical operation and I am scared, mostly of general anaesthetic.

It is secret because people make (bad) prejudgements when presented with few details, and now I have gone and given a tiny detail... aargh!

What's the operation? Good luck...I assure you...general anethesia is nothing to worry about. :)

I'll be leaving on the 7th of July for my Daily Show job. So I won't be posting for a good amount of time after that. If you noticed that I'm not posting a lot lately, it's because I'm saving my materials.

Is this why you haven't updated your blog? And you're just the person I'd have thought to write for the Daily Show. Good luck.

Nobody cares that I might be dead by the end of the week and never post again

I have my bottle of Bollinger Champagne ready!

I wish you all the best and welcome back in August.

I don't have much experience of all this but it seems those who do say there is nothing to worry about the process. All the best with it! :goodjob:

I broke something and after years of arguing with the NHS (apparently injuries are outside warranty), I am paying for a private repair. They re-booked it for the 8th so now it does not clash with my birthday

General anesthesia scares me, they slow your heart down and stuff. What if I have a bad reaction? Trust me, for someone who has never had more than a few surface stitches, this is a really scary prospect.

Well, of course! Those who have bad experiences don't live to tell...

Son of a...

Thanks to all those who noticed

ive had major surgery done on me twice, and a minor thing once, so thats 3 times ive been under anaesthetic

i even knocked myself out once as a kid hitting a car with my bike :D

dont worry about the anaesthetic, the odds of anything bad happening is very very small

They don't slow your heart down, it slows down by itself because you're not stressing about being anesthetized any more and are just sleeping. :) There's no point in stressing about it, you'll do fine and that pesky Siamese twin will be permanently removed. Sorry I didn't mean to give away the details of your private repair.

Anyway, good luck and come back soon!

Before we really get stuck into the finer details of Stormbind's impending surgery, I'd like to announce a reduction in my activity over the next week or so  .

After a quiet spell at work, we've got quite a bit going on atm. I really need to spend quite a bit of time trawling through all kinds of complex and (mostly boring) reports and business plans :scan: . This naturally takes time, so I will not be able to engage in the bigger discussions here for the time being. I have many things prepared and I shall post these up when I get a chance. Do please PM if there is something you are expecting from me or would like me to read or reply to.

I should also note that there is some problem with my picture host so this is why none of my pics are appearing. I've mentioned it in other threads but for those who haven't noticed I thought I would mention it here. This usually gets solved quickly but this doesn't seem to be the case right now. I hope they resolve this soon as I have posted hundreds of pics with these guys :gripe: .

I have done that too, but in my case the car was stationary. Hurricane-strength winds propelled me into it (the steering locked at speed) :shakehead

Rambuchan has succeeded in taking my mind off the operation. I have unfinished business that is destined to accompany me through recovery

Good luck, and remember surgeons arent like airline pilots, they are always sober when on the job. ;)
They should be sober when youre under their knives :p
