New Unit - Scots Guardsman

although i like lab monkeys anyways, smoking mirrors suggestion pic is much more accurate. but, i shouldn't be one talking about accuracy ;) none of my units are accurate at all
 
I much prefer that black kilt. I'll make the changes by the end of the weekend if I can. I'll also check out the .ini file.
 
I fixed my own .ini file, but the game crashes upon start-up with this unit in it. I get the civ3.exe error message, not the .ini message.

I will redownload it and try again, but there seems to be a glitch somewhere. Maybe I overlooked something, maybe not.

Is everyone else's working correctly?

A unit error (.ini content or file/folder name) will only occour when either you or the AI actually tries to field the unit.

Have you also installed the Robert Bruce leaderhead? Badly installed Civs can crash the game on startup.

I admit that I havn't yet game tested my unit (I'll try it now), but since it's just a modified version of the musket infantry, there shouldn't be a problem.
 
Rather than making the kilt black, have u thought about actual tartan? It doesn't need to be perfect, or even clan-specific - dark red + green lines on a dark background would be enough.

Although you can't see it I used a texture fill on the kilt, so that its not plain black, but a mix of dark greens. Most paint programs have a texture fill tool, though as the original kilt is not all one colour it takes a little work to fill it all in.

I hope you do the dark kilt labmonkey cos this is a great unit!
 
Wonderfull unit! After DLing Sweens Robert the Bruce leaderhead I too made a Scottish civ, but I only had one unique unit for them.. the woad raider.. but now.. now my scots have another unique! Now it's easier for them to take over the world as they should!

Long time and no replies but today is friday and i was able to get on the site, this mod pack is amazing!!!!!!!! great unit, so i went ahead and made some civilopedia stuff, copy and past this into ur civlopedia. txt

and the zip file, also lab monkey when you release ur next version just add this stuff so people don't have to search the stuff for this, and it'd be nice just to say like civilopedia stuff made by me in the 1st post no .txt file or anything

I noticed this uses the "..\MusketInfantry\" sound files. Is that a unit that comes with Civ3, or do I need to get those from somewhere?
