Starting a new oddities thing here, updating it as I go.

1. Did something happen with the map-generation? I'm seeing both Salt and Marble on forested hills, seems kinda off.

Can confirm, didn't even think about it until reading your post though:

Also, you can tell from that screen that I've run out to a massive lead...earlier in the game I was 1 or 2 in every demographic. I've never been anything nearly close to that on Emperor before...

I don't know if it's something with this new version, the MPMPM (this is my first time using it, it's so nice loading from the main menu), or just a case of the planets aligning just right, but the AI almost feels hamstrung. I know that's very vague, but it hasn't felt like any game of CPP I've played since the very early days.

I've been waiting for a long time to get my hands on Community Patch + JDH active AI for a modpack I use with my friends- but is it possible to disable specific features about the Community Patch? Most of the changes are really amazing, but I feel the massive change to the tech tree might be a hard sell for my friends.

Edit: To be clear, I did look for a FAQ that answers this question first and came up dry, so apologies if it's been asked before.

You can use the CP Modpack that Lynnes made which offers only the baseline CP changes but leaves out CBP and all other balance mods. Works with active diplo.

Thanks for the quick response- I presume you're talking about the 'Community Patch Only' option. I'm guessing there's no in-between or easy manual way to go about it? The reason I ask is simply because I do like a lot of the features offered in the full version.

In the 'How to install' thread, like it usually is?

No, it's not usually there, it has almost always been linked on the first page of a new version thread. I even checked the last link provided on the last version announcement to see if it was just replaced, and it didn't seem to be.

Of course, it's better to be passive aggressive when someone asks an honest question to try to make yourself feel superior, because forum elitism makes for a create welcoming community for newcomers.

edit: My apologies for this, Funak was only trying to help

The new versions are always posted in the how-to-install thread, betas are not, this is not a beta therefore it is posted in the how-to-install thread.

Yes, I'm such an elitist prick for answering your question. How about a 'thank you' instead? Also I love how you're whining about passive aggressiveness while being a passive aggressive prick, sweet irony.

What do you mean? If you check the Multiplayer Modpack thread you'll see Lynnes has a CP-only modpack for MP. If you want the full version, you have to use it all. Tell your friends to try it out! :)

Please accept my apologies. Sorry Funak.

I think CommunityOptions.sql in the Community Balance Patch folder might be what Poizen's looking for as there are plenty of toggles for various changes in CBP. I don't know if they're functional, but you can go ahead and try them.

Bear in mind that the mod is designed and balanced around all the options turned on.

Don't mess with those options right now. The mod is not ready for options.

I downloaded the one on the how to install page, and installed it (I see it deletes cache automatically now, nice), but it still says 12-18 in the mod listings, so just wanted to confirm that it installed the new version?

Edit: oh wait nm, it just didn't remove the old CP. Hunh.

Just to make things clear, the new installer successfully updates existing mods installed with the new installer, so from now on you probably shouldn't need to manually remove the old CP it is just a relic of two different installers.

When I was trying to find the AI-settles-on-turn-1 option (actually in CoreDefines.sql in case anyone was wondering) I tried the CommunityPatchOptions.sql first.

Great herds of AI settlers, wondering across the plains:lol:
