i have new machine, turned almost everything on minimum because of graphic glitches causing CTD aswell and now, when i omit those CTDs on AI turn, these on my own or while loading are caused IMO by underperforming of memory or smthing. i am also going to try out large instead of huge, because that is tons of wasted hours. On king difficulty it used to crash much less, probably because AI has had much less units.
 
I had lots of problems with revealed map on Large. I couldn't finish my games cause there were lots of freezes, glitches and CTDs once map is revealed. I played without trading maps and delayed Satelites as much as possible, but still, was not able to finish. Moreover, i could not load the savegame with revealed map
 
I had similar problems, but since it was 43 Civ Yet another earth map, I didn't report it : I considered it as a mod conflict.
 
in my case it is standard settings for huge map( 12 major civs, 24 cs) + communitas map, which tends to be smaller than other scripts with same settings.

I've run 1000s of test games and have maybe 1-2 CTDs per month that aren't caused by something I just changed and need to debug. Some CTDs just happen because civ disagrees with your computer.

fine, is there anything i can do about this? Is here someone willing help me with this, when i upload my dxdiag or smthing needed? i have already followed instructions to decrease graphic settings, which helped. I really want to get rid of this as much as possible. Otherwise i will have to relly on autosaves, which are also not a warranty of not getting crashed after awhile

There were times when people had problems with saves long time ago. I vaguely remember there was a nifty trick with loading saves at that time.

It could be something completely unrelated in your case, but try it out first. I think the trick was something like launching the game, loading the save from turn 0 and when ingame, loading the latest save.

You can try looking it up on GitHub in the old posts under my nick (vyyt). But it is most probably not related to your problems with loading the saves, this was long time ago. But why not give it a shot first.

U have a repeatable save load problem? On other PC the same problem?
 
I don't have other pc. Anyway yes, they are repeatable, even a save from a same turn, where one is end turn save and other is begin of that turn, and a second will not load. I don't know, my opinion is that memory usability is restricted on something like 6 GB and huge maps on emperor late in the game may overlap that easily.

Send me in pm link to your save(sendspace for ex) that crashes during load, I will try to load and we will look, is this the hardware problem or not.
 
I've got an old i3 (i3-3220), 8 gb ram, GeForce GT640 and SSD. Windows 7. I've set quick combat, quick movement. Resolution is 1440x900, the same as my screen, with 8x MSAA antialiasing, that I think my GPU can handle. Vsync on, and all details and qualities at maximum. I've got no troubles moving around the map and showing units, that happens pretty fast. What doesn't go smoothly is AI turns. In the early game it can be 10-15 seconds, but in industrial it takes minutes. I think I need a better cpu, but I wonder if there's another way to make it faster.

EDIT. I've monitored it a little. No memory problems. CPU is at 100% during AI turns. Funny thing is that VP only gets 50% CPU.

EDIT2. I'm just realising that only one cpu core is being used.

good for you. i have i5-6500 4x 3.20) and nvidia gtx 1060 mini + SSD and have to play it on minimum w/o AA and most settings on minimum or rendering sh*ts will appear. i have to play it w/o cosmetics mods, because engine does not support it and maybe smaller, than huge. I am begining feel little restricted :D :D
 
Due to my old-ish laptop, I've learnt to stop worrying and to love the bomb, errr...., the strategic view & quick combat/movement :)
 
here it is. RED/advanced setup/ faster aircraft /+ this modmod https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/change-vp-options.620079/ included.
I can load it without RED(3 times). And one time I was able to load it with RED(2 CTD, 1 success). Random CTD load(maybe I need to install addon for RED). How many times u tried to load? Without RED how it loads?

And maybe cause I load it without RED or without RED addon(when tried with RED) - civ hangs after a short period of time. Never seen this in civ.
Music is played, I can click mouse(and yeah I hear music from my clicking actions) - but screen is static.

Try to play one game without FlagPromotions and RED - just for test. If the trouble will remain - post it on forum, me and maybe someone will look closer on it.

I don't know if flag promos is still alive project, but i hope so. I really get used to it and it would be shame if that is tha case causing crashes.
