New World Record

I wish I had one of those from Carbondale to Chicago.

Just did the math, thats 55 minutes to go 333 miles. Amazing, I wish we had something like that stretching across the U.S. I would never have to drive 6 hours again!
Actually, it would be 90 minutes, as the commercial speed is 350 km/h max

Trains are better than any other mass-transsit system in all senses: cleaner, cheaper, faster, more comfortable... but OTOH considering current world affairs they are an excellent objective for terrorists since it is very easy to plant a bomb at some ramdom point in the railway and to explode it when the train is coming. Imagine the effects in a train going at 350 km/h. :scared:

Easy reply isnt it?. But yes, could be much worse obviously, and harder to avoid.

You don't have to be in the train. You could put the explosive charge on the track.
French resistance used the tactics often enough with German convoys...
The best solution would to stop all traffic, be it plane, train or car, and all stay at home.
