Please can we have 'Always wait at end of turn' checked by default in the preferences? :gripe: I just loaded the predator save up, fortified both my units to prevent any misclicked moves while setting up my QSC log and spreadsheets, and before you can say "where's my golden age?" I had skipped my first turn.

That's probably a holdover from me having to reload all my Civ stuff when my old computer decided it was time to retire ... permanently. I'll make sure that setting is turned on for next month's GOTM.

Ah! Do the default governor settings get carried across in the save in the same way? I often check my city governor when I settle, and find they plan to emphasise food, which would presumably be considered minor-league heresy by most XOTM players.

I believe there is some sensitivity in the city governor's settings as well. Typically Emphasize Production is desired, to use the best shield source upon growth. I can try to set that as well. How about also turning off attitude management by the Governor by default? Having it on will often have the governor assign Entertainers upon growth, which negates the Emphasize Production setting.

Yeah, the governor certainly shouldn't be managing happiness, but I haven't noticed it doing so in any XOTMs. Indeed, the governor setting in this game was fine. Maybe it is something which persists on the installation rather than the save. i.e. I should check the governor setting if my previous game was some kind of feudal whip-fest (and I would have been emphasising food towards the end of the game).

The Preferences are quite annoying when you first download the starting save, but remember to change the preferences to whatever you're used to next time you start a game. :)
