The time has finally come (or is finally about to come) to start the next Governments and Politics. But before we start, we must decide which civilization you would like to play and
lead to glory.

There will be two rounds of voting. In the first, you may vote for as many civs as you like. The top three will then pass for the second round, where you may only vote for one and when a definitive civ will be chosen.

If in the first round a civ has a 2/3 majority, the second round will be skipped and the civ will be the definitive.

Once this is chosen, we are ready to begin Governments and politics II.

I put in Spain (so much opportunity to mess with JoanK there) or the Celts for my options.

I went with Celts or Carthage.

Either the Celt Horde will triumph over the idiot civilizations to the north, south, east, and west, or the Carthaginian Genius will be the envy the world over. I am excited.

Deus nisi Civleader! Enim sine eum, qui currere imperia et Politicorum?

Spoiler :
God save the Civleader! For without him, who would run Governments and Politics?

With the current results it looks like Spain and the Celts will be going to the second round. There is a tie for third between Maya, Carthage, Egypt and Other. Who shall brake the tie and advance to the second round?

EDIT: Looks like the Maya have gained some ground...

I'm thinking of joining this but i never did an IAAR before. Is there anything i should know?

Great! new players is good to change things up.

hmm, I think other players will have better tips, but what I can tell you is that knowing is very important. The more information you have, the better you can act. It also helps to have money and stay active. Don't be afraid to act or speak up. If you make a mistake, you'll only learn from it. Knowing the rules also helps. Governments and Politics has a long ruleset, but it is easy to learn while you play (or so I've been told) and I will point out the information you need to know how to play. (Much of the rules are details of actions, or helpful information that can give you an edge in the game. Some of the rules don't apply until we reach a certain era in the game, so you have time to get familiar with the basics before the game expands).

I am not sure if you can see this, but Imperium Romanorum social group has begun a helpful guide with many useful tips by experienced players.

You might also want to play Imperium Romanorum and The Rise of Byzantium and gain more experience.

Thanks a lot for the link, it wasn't completely done but it helped me get into the mood of what this will be like.

However; it sounds very time consuming so I think i'll just stick to one right now. I'll be sure to read the IAARs you suggested though.

Looks like there is a big tie between the Maya, Carthage, Spain, and Other. If this doesn't change, I will have to randomly choose a second and third place.

But there is still time for the tie to be broken...

Just vote for both then.

Now we have Other and Celts, so do we pick a random third or wait?

Do we know what civ Other is yet? Two are saying england but what about the rest?

Good you pointed that out. Those who voted Other should state what other they wish. Unless they specify otherwise, England will be the Other option. They would also need a majority.

If there is no major agreement, then another poll will be started if Other wins in the end.

My vote goes for the Ottomans, really liking their new UA in G&K. Every ship having the privateer ability sounds very nice.

Actually, that would make for a nice gameplay. Get a galley and start building your pirate fleet :P
