Can someone please explain why Poland is in the polls? It's pretty obvious that they're not in this game...

Because they, along with Isabella were on the Leader's List in the Leader Bingo leak when the "Meet the Art" thing was released.

Poland could very easily be the first DLC to come out as well as a Deluxe Edition exclusive or something.

I could very easily see Arabia being a conquest civ. Didn't they throttle Byzantium and march around the med snd into Europe until Charles the Hammer stopped them? They are one of those civs that fit almost any role well.

Yes, although when Saladin has showed up in other Civ games he usually has more defensive stats than offensive, maybe with respect to fending off the Crusades.

I'm referring to the original leak, where both were there.

It seems more likely that both Gorgo and Pericles are in the base game. Isabella and Jadwiga are probably planned DLC, but at this point we have no way of confirming that.

We truly do not know about Pericles / Gorgo of Greece or Jadwiga of Poland beyond the fact that Firaxis said that there would be 18 civilizations in the game at launch which is now up to 19 civilizations in the game at launch with the inclusion of the Aztecs as a day one civ / pre order bonus / time release content. Firaxis could put Poland in the base game to bring the total up to twenty or they could save her and her civilization for one of the four confirmed DLC's. Heck, with Greece... Firaxis could be doing multiple leaders (strongest held theory), they could be doing Athens and Sparta separate or they could launch with either Pericles or Gorgo as the base vanilla leader and bring the other in via a DLC.

The only leader that seems unlikely to show up in the base game is Isabella mainly due to the fact that Spain's First Look video is already out and we got Philip II as their leader.

Also, keep in mind that if Firaxis is going to bring Isabella of Spain and Jadwiga of Poland into the game through DLC content, at some point during development both would show up in a game build for testing and balancing purposes. Especially if they decide to follow the Civilization V timetable of when that game brought in Babylon / Nebuchadnezzar via DLC about a month after the games launch.

It makes no logical sense to me to have 18 civs 19 leaders at release. If that's what the majority believe right now then the majority are incorrect. Its not Athens/Sparta either. Its Greece with one of those leaders, probably Gorgo as the DLC leader pack will have one each of male/female then. ( that is a guess )

1. It has perfect logic to include 1 civilization with 2 leaders - to show and test the ability.

2. The Civilopedia clearly states some civilizations have multiple leaders.

3. Both Gorgo and Pericles are in civilopedia.

That's what majority of people here see and I'm pretty sure we're right.

It makes no sense to include DLC in the civilopedia on release. Yes, it hasn't released but who would put future stuff in a couple of months before release then pull it out?

I can see where you are all coming from. Having Gorgo and Pericles but not Isabella/Poland is odd. Either Gorgo or Pericles could be Day 1 DLC.

Poland.
They have made a point to show us their newer Empires in the game, Scythian, Kongo etc.
I think Poland will be coming out before the game's release date as they were not in Civ4 and earlier games. Usually only in mods, like the Civ4 Realism Invictus mod.
They were in Civ5's Brave New World.

Who says the DLC has only the one leader? It might also have a map of the peninsula and/or a scenario in it.

It's weird... I picked Rome a couple days ago. But I had a dream last night that they did another first look and they surprised everybody by featuring Greece. I don't remember which leader... I woke up before "watching" it, but it seemed to me, in the dream, that they revealed both leaders.

Edit: I guess out outta kinda sad when the game is making it into my dreams when it hasn't even been released yet...

How many civs left that will be revealed till launch?

Five by my count. Some think that there will be two Greek civs. And some think that Poland will get a First Look before launch. So your mileage may vary.
