In spite of what people think about it, the current war in Iraq isn't a war in conventional sense. More accurately, it isn't a war between two or more states, it is a war between state and non-state actor.

Try to think about it and find the most likely scenarios of the future major war. Try to be realistic, if you don't have anything (reasonable) to say, please be quiet. I am sure you can come up with very funny ridiculous scenarios, but please leave that for another thread. Thank you.

Most dangerous scenario IMO:

Israel or US strike against the Iranian nuclear facilities after all attempts to negotiate its suspension have failed. Iran retaliates with missile strikes against Israel and the US bases and ships in the region. The entrance to Persian Gulf is closed and the oil suplies are cut off. Iran also influence the Iraqi Shi'a Muslims and try to spark an uprising. Iranian soldiers infiltrate Iraq and Afghanistan and fight the US there. There is no other option than to launch a land invasion of Iran in order to reopen Persian Gulf and secure the Iraqi/Afghan borders.

The oil prices skyrockets and China is panicking - it has to secure all available oil reserves within its reach - especially the South China Sea. This can lead to a conflict with Vietnam, Indonesia, Taiwan, Malaysia and of course the US.
 
Here is my war scenario:

A team of American and British scientists create a IndeCar which is independent of any form of fuel. it just runs and runs. The middle Easts economy collapses overnight except for Dubai since it has been preparing for this. As living conditions drastically collapse in these Arab countries, India and Pakistan develop their own IndeCar 2 and sign an alliance with the EU and US to contain Irans aggression since they longer need gas. Within days of Indo-stan(India and Pakistan) announcing IndeCar 2's will be sold to China and japan, the EU sells them to South America. Now with absolutely no oil to seel, the arab countries face a total revolution. in desperation they form the Islam federation with a single leader, all the fromer rulers are thrown out. They announce an alliance with Africa (which is now one country as to maximize tourism profits and to form a stronger defensive force.) The Islam-Africa alliance decides to build missile bases on Cuba and they are completed 3 days before Castro dies of Parkinson's. The US invades Cuba and threatens to destroy the base, but Islam Africa ignores them. The base is destroyed but a few zimbabwean guards are killed in the bomb strikes. Islam Africa declares war on the US starting the war! The EU signs a trade embargo against IA (islam Africa) but IA has had enough and declares war on the EU as well as South America. As a warning to the west they capture jerusalem and destroy the Dome of the Rock! But angry Christians in Africa declare this as Jihad and the IA splits into back into the Islam Federation and African Federation. Africa invades all of the Islamic federation except for Afghanistan and Iran. They install all the old rulers of the arab countries and appoint new ones in the place of dead rulers.They also allow the rebuilding of the Dome of the Rock. Life in Iran and Afghanistan goes from worse to worst. with no military (all dead in Saudi Arabia) and no treasury, these nations are dying. the leader of the weak, two country Islamic Federation knows that he must destroy evidence of his highly destrucive missiles (non nuclear) so he launches them at China and IndoStan. If he fired them at his enemies they would have known it was him. the deaths in Asia are over 730,000 and when satellites show evidence of the missiles coming from Iran the Asian countries declare war on Islamic Federation and bomb them with missiles. Iran annexs itself to other countries and Afghanistan is sold off too. The Islamic leader is shot and a "US" friendly government is installed. Africa is now at peace with the rest of the world and is hailed by all as the Crusher of the Islamic Federation. All but the US. they still hold most of the Ivory Coast and wont stop the war. In a major offensive, Africa surronds 80,000 US soldiers at FreeTown in former Sierra Leone. The army there surrenders and Africa has finally forced America away. for 15 years these major blocs continue until one day Africa breaks apart causing new strife, India and Pakistan create new IT schools and new computer companies. The EU however lives on... :evil:

I don't have a scenario per se, but it's going to be two smaller countries that drag everyone else in with them. Like North/South Korea, or Iran/Isreal.
 
According to the Bible, there will be a major war between an alliance of Russia, Iran, and other nations, against Israel. Israel will win, against all odds. Will this be the next big one? Stay tuned!

Interesting.

This isn't an insult or anything (sorry, i'm not well versed in the Bible) but what exactly does the Bible say about this? Just some general info on this prediction would be nice, thankyou :).
 
Kyrgyzstan vs. Tajikistan. This conflict will turn into a full blown world war after the presidents of Russia and America bet 1 trillion dollars on who will win. Realizing how much money is at stake, each side assists the country they bet on and eventually a nuclear war commences.

We win of course because Jesus is on our side.

Depending on what you mean by "major war," there is always a chance that the countries involved in the African World War would start hostilities once again. But then...hardly anyone paid attention to it when it was going on in the first place, so maybe this won't qualify.
 
African wars already last for centuries if not more, and everything is ok.
Still don't get logic of attacking israel - they got no natural resources, nor oil. Only jerusalem, but I doubt it could be of any usage other than stone and sand supply.
But scenario with US leaves Iraq will be fun. Al Quaeda along with other extremists overtakes oil sources and will have huge money supply for terrorists. And even more fun will be if all countries except US will leave - they'll have to catch all punches then)

I just posted this a few weeks ago; I think it was on the thread about the president of Iran calling an attack on Israel. From Ezekiel chapter 38:1-9

The word of the LORD came to me: "Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal; prophesy against him and say: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army—your horses, your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde with large and small shields, all of them brandishing their swords. Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you.
" 'Get ready; be prepared, you and all the hordes gathered about you, and take command of them. After many days you will be called to arms. In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. You and all your troops and the many nations with you will go up, advancing like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land.

Gog has been identified as Russia; Meshech is the Moscow area. The allies of Gog are listed as Persia, Cush and Put, also Gomer and Beth Togarmah. Persia (Iran) is listed first.

I don't think this war will break out tomorrow, because Israel is not "living in safety", nor "recovered from war". But if peace breaks out in the middle east first, get ready for the "War of Gog and Magog" next! :eek:

ummmm.... there is already some people in the southwest corner of the pacific :P

I think rekon America will will have a civil war between citys and suburbs. Then all the little conflicts around the world will spark up. So Russia will nuke the entire world to calm it down. and a russian-suburb allaince will rules the world.
 
The USA will invade and occupy more nations. This will strengthen the combined economic and political power of suppressed underground movements, which will in turn bargain with and invite powerful rivals such as Europe, Russia, or China to liberate their homeland.

Eventually, the offer will be too good to refuse, and the USA will find itself surrounded.
