Doesn't every one like to play "Nice Starts"? Well this start looks to be nice, but don't let your eyes fool you!

This start is a very very fun start that will never punish you I swear! It may only be on Imm due to me personally having zero skill at all in winning this sort of start on Deity, but don't let it fool you.

If this start ends up being to easy, I doubt it will, I will make a new one on Deity.

He might be joking since you did not turn on resource bubbles

Z...what mod did you use for the save? I'm getting a HOF warning but the save surprisingly opened fine with BUG/BULL

Weird...this is one of those saves that every now and then totally resets my BTS config file...argh! Have no clue why that happens.

You should still turn them on when you post a shot. It makes it far easier to see.

Due to never using them I have never remembered to put them on in any picture of mine.

Buffy with out locked modified assets which is why you get the HoF warning.

I have never heard of that happening before. I think I did the broking of the everythings.

For anyone who wants to know why I think this map is more difficult.
Spoiler :
The AI are some of the hardest to handle in the game. You have the 2 lunatics, 1 religious zealot, 1 normal warmonger, and the 2 fastest expanding AI to box you in.

That kind of stuff happened to mw twice in past for no reason.
That is why I keep in reserve an original CivilizationIV.ini file that I will paste over the corrupted one.

After winning easily on Immortal a couple of times now I think this will be a fun exercise and give me a lot of headache :)

I'll be happy to run head first into this potential brick wall^^

900BC and wow, cool map :)

Wouldn't mind some feedback and tips on how to continue...

Spoiler :
Managed to grab 6 pretty strong cities mainly expanding towards east and south east, reaching mathematics in 4 turns for hamman (easy happiness) and hopefully some successful trades. In hindsight, I probably should have delayed settling samsun, it costs me 4gpt for the moment so probably not worth it, wasn't such a rush to settle that one after all...

Problem is, 6 cities drains my economy. Cottaged like crazy around capitol and will get 16gpt at 0% slider.

So much to do, so little to play with. Will probably try to net alpha and build research in my minor cities. And then try to get IW to enable some jungle clearing and HOPEFULLY find some iron in my lands. Otherwise I have to go for elepults *argh with this economy* and kill someone.

Still no academy (had to chop/whip settlers) but will go for that shortly.

Domination 1886AD

Spoiler :
Wow, very, very, very hard game had to reload an old save (1500 AD) and redo my tactics against charly with 20 cities and his vassal - monty with 8+ cities and teching like CRAZY.

I learned three important lessons during this game:
1) Tanks aren't THAT great against infantry/sam/anti tanks/airships/artillery/cavalry
2) In order to be successful with rush-buying stuff, you really need AT LEAST 2k gpt (my 500gpt and no kremlin didn't produce nearly as many troops as I needed)
3) Slavery is awesome, even late game, and the combination of draft/whip/purchase is very good

On the failed attempt I teched tanks but never managed to produce enough of them to be able to get an edge against charly (tried rush buying with only 500g surplus).

Reloaded an old save (1500 AD) and redid my catchup tech phase to include infantry/artillery/gunships and had much better success with whip/purchase/draft. Charly when I attacked had tons of cavalry/machine guns and infantry available and shortly after got artillery (my 100 infantry and 40 artillery managed to get a power score of 0.5 against him).

Super fun game and map. I had many epic battles against charly. Really hate the non stone/marble/copper though. Couldn't really abuse any fun tactics to get economy going :)

Some important dates and stuff in my game:
Charly was tech leader entire game closely followed by spain. Spain peace vassaled to charly and broke free a couple of times during game. Buddhism was a lovefest between me, spain, charly, and shaka.

~1AD joined war against stalin [buddhism war for easy diplo points] and produced some elepults and managed to grab 4 great cities (Moscow, oh what a GP farm).
~1100AD landed lib and got MT and cuirs which I used to destroy justinian (traded horse from shaka for a monsterous sum, justinian also had cuirs, pike and war elephants which made the war pretty slow)
~1550AD had some cavalry and cuirs (20/50) and declared on shaka in order to secure horses and happy resourcs, also he was way behind in tech and I needed more cities to have a chance against charly and monty.
~1650AD 3 golden ages later I had infantry and artillery and started whipping, drafting and purchasing like a mad man.
~1670AD declared on charly, managed to get spain to join in
-1886AD after a slugfest charly capitulated to me and that was sufficent to get a domination victory

Good job. :) But yea Charly is always one of the AI I have the hardest time dealing with, his UU makes Treb wars versus him the biggest slog ever. He expands so damn fast, and is Protective. :( But yes I didn't mean for this start to be easy by any mean. I removed copper from the 3rd ring, otherwise it's a bit of a joke.

I will play in a bit, been playing to many HoF challengers.

I don't want to hijack your thread, but I don't think making a new thread just to post my nice start is also a good idea, so instead I'm going to post mine anyways and if you feel I should open my own thread I will.

There should be a nice starts thread just like there is funny pics etc.

So here is my nice start, it's almost too nice. I think someone said once you can never have too much food, well... I think you can.

Spoiler :
The start is great, the surrounding land not so much, I guess that's to make up for the great start. I settled in place in my game because I couldn't see anywhere obvious to move an that of course was a mistake.
