Nitpicky Things You'd Like Fixed

The ability to back out of choosing a great person/social policy when you complete a social policy branch or the Oracle, (there might be more).

The ability to defer choosing a pantheon right away.

I won't bother asking for an "amen" on that, as we seem to be plagued with contrarian heathens.

:please:

Can't work out exactly what you mean, but if you pick a policy, it asks for confirmation, and if you want to delay picking policies, there is an advanced option for that.

What's the point in that? I either know which Pantheon I'm going to pick, and if I don't know, I won't bother trying to rush for one. And on the rare occasion you get enough faith from an early goody hut, I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

1. ethnical units
2. generals and great persons with name specific to nations (it's not so difficult......)
3. more medieval units
4. read news from industrial age in newspapers format
5. trade tile territories in diplomacy panel
6. prestits with a bank.....more real financial system in general related to ages

I'd like to be able to bomb tiles with bombers to destroy the improvement

ex. my enemy's important uranium mine is just in range... boom

It's important to remember that the AI would be able to do this to you. If you think having a random barb roam in and pillage the lux that's keeping your empire from going into unhappiness is annoying, have fun when an AI declares war on you and on the same turn uses its massive stack of bombers to pillage every important tile in your capital.

As for me the only thing I really want to see is the ability to move Great Admirals from one coastal city to another. Getting trapped by ice sucks.

I could just as easily nuke it (I've had to nuke uranium mines before) It's more realistic, war is war and resources get bombed. I've never seen an AI with a "massive stack" of bombers, they never make more than like 3. fighters can defend your lands (confession I don't know how to activate the defensive abilities of fighters, proof that I never needed it against AI)

I don't understand how your admiral got stuck by ice, or what you meant by "ability to move" like teleport?

Be able to remove sheep tiles from the landscape. I can't tell you how annoying it is when as the Inca you have a hill tile surrounded by five mountains (which gives 7+ :c5food: with the terraced farm improvement + fertilizer) and there is a sheep resource on it, which only ever gives 3+ or 4+ :c5food:. It's not even realistic either - why can't sheep be culled off from a particular area?

Just the roads. They look like an eyesore when dealing with junctions, please give that a small fix.

I hear there is going to be better support for multi-player. Hopefully this means they'll fix the inability to give civilian units to city-states in hot seat. It seriously takes away from Sweden's UA.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I would like the Inquisitor unit being able to choose which Religions followers to be eliminated. I just indoctrinated my Holy City the other day when Netherlands converted it to Christianity with a Great Prophet. I send my Inquisitor in there and much to my surprise it didn't clean the heathen Christians but my loyal Sikhism believers. :p

Other nitpicky thing is a diplomacy option where I could ask rival Civ to remove his Missionaries and Great Prophets within my territory immediately. I just hate when they spread their Faith. Or being able to assassinate those units with a counter-intelligence Spy unit located in targeted city.

For any question that pops up:
- choose great person
- give worker back?
- friendship? Denounce X? War on X?

Add a raincheck button. If pressed, it becomes an icon, across the right side of the screen, which can not be dismissed. Clicking it makes the window\diplo screen pop back up, and the turn will not end until these icons are gone.

Some implementations of this (like give worker back) may be easier said than done, but well worth it.

For better or worse, the religions removed are all except the religion of the inquisitor. If you produced the inquisitor in a city that was Christian at the time, the inquisitor will be Christian and remove all religions except Christianity from cities (and, if stationed at the city, will block every other religion except Christianity).

This is why prophets are created by themselves (and always follow your state religion) instead of produced by the player before the Industrial era; otherwise you would have no way of bringing back your religion if all of your cities stopped following it.

I really want to second or fourth the one about sending units on long missions only to have them stop because someone stepped in their way 20 hexes ahead.

I also want to see escorts both as ships and land units.

Lots of good ideas here. Is anyone listening?

It already works that way for Great People.

But it would be very handy for diplomacy. Although considering you get the offers during the AI's turn, I'm not sure how easy it is to implement.

very needed, all the "embassy plz?" and "time to let the world know of your sins grr" popups should be put in notifications once your turn starts, not when its loading

Im not sure if this is apparent, but make the Civ selection list like the AI's, small without about 3 Civs on at one point until you scroll down/up.
I have found that having the Civ list (I have all DLC) that Spain is unselectable as it is off the screen.

I don't understand how your admiral got stuck by ice, or what you meant by "ability to move" like teleport?

The Admiral can spawn at any port city, which means that it is quite possible for it to spawn at one where access to the ocean is blocked off by ice. I'd like an ability to teleport from one port city to another, it would basically remove that pain.

Many informational screens in CivV are hideously deficient in useful information. One of the things that has always annoyed me is the inability to quickly check my diplomatic relations at a glance (like in Civ IV). Also, simple rankings and standings are omitted in favor of a hopelessly deficient demographics screen. Not to mention the removal of the color-coded "diplomacy wheel".

After playing the game with the InfoAddict mod (which adds a lot of missing info, including the "diplomacy wheel") these last few months, I find myself simply despising the default UI; it really is unbelievably awful.

Can't recommend InfoAddict enough. It's an absolutely amazing mod that remedies many of the problems with the default UI's lack of easy-to-get information.
