Well...the day is here where we begin accepting Nominations for cabinet positions.

Remember....Citizens can run for any position except President. And you can run for two different positions, as well as self nominate.

So...to nominate someone....or yourself, just post your nominee and the position below.

If you choose to decline nomination, please post here as well.

No decussion about nominees in this thread. I'm going to start an "Election Dicussion" Thread ( http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13350 ), and any violaters will have their post deleted.

Nominations will run for 5 days....so until Jan 7th, where I will close this thread and post polls for each position. Then Elections will run 2 days until Jan 9th, and Jan 10th...the new cabinet takes power.

* = means they were deputy last term.
** = means they are up for re-election.

Ok...let me clear something up.

You CAN NOT nominate multiple people for the same position. Your nomination is basically saying this is the best person for the job.....thus you can only nominate one.

Second...there is no election for deputy leaders. Deputy leaders are the runner-ups in the main election. So Juize....I have to put you down for Science Leader.

And I'm going to continually update the first post with a list of nominees.

I'll nominate:

myself as expantion leader. its the only thing I am good at :)

Juize for uh... some position. I like him, he seems to be yelled at alot, and I respect that... of course :D

and lastley, I nominate knight-dragon as military leader. seems only fitting :)

I would like to unnominate myself fr running for the Mil Leader post. This is an evil conspiracy by the renegade ex-Watcher Pellaken to tarnish my reputation for neutrality and disdain for earthly office. :p Plus, I have no Civ2 ..... and is too Civ3-centric now. ;)

Instead, I would like to nominate joespaniel as the Mil Leader and Cunobelin of Hippo as the Diplo Leader who shall of course have the support of the War Church and of this Watcher at least. :)
 
I would like to know whether he wants to do the job before nominating him, but I think that Alcibiades would make a great president. I agree with the vast majority of the posts he has made here, and he seems to be playing in a style similar to my own.
I think that Duck of Flanders may have made himself ineligible for re-election by cheating to find out how soon the English would build the Colossus. I don't know what the rest of you think about this, but I find it quite unsporting and it would be disqualified in a GOTM. I don't mean it as a personal slur on our great leader, and was considering the possibility of our having to buy the Colossus anyway at some point myself, but it will make things too easy for us if it happens again. We could try and continue as if we were unaware that the English were about to complete the Colossus and then capture it later or live without it, but it would have formed a major part of my strategy and I would have preferred us to be further advanced in its construction by now. Never mind, the polls tell us what to do and that's the whole point of the game.
If AoA doesn't want to be President, then I shan't nominate him, but I like his style, and although I know he's got family commitments, I think he could keep things going very well. If he posts here saying that he doesn't want to be President then all well and good, but I'd like to see him in the hot throne. :goodjob:
 
Well since there is no competition at the moment I would like to run for the position of governor of the province Luna. :goodjob:
I have no problems with any of the other candidates at the moment and hope they get appointed ;)
 
Well, if you guys want, I'll accept the nomination as president.

I love the duck, but looking ahead seems to violate the spirt of the game, the uncertancy is part of the fun, I think.

I second Spy for city planner, spy is good at it, and is into the game.

I also nominate Dread for sci again, she did a good job, the holidays are tough for all.

I second Joe for military leader, a good guy and I think he will do a fine job in my old slot.

I'll even second Pellakan, because he wants it so bad, for Expantion leader.

The Hippo-man for Diplo minister is a must!

For Vice Pres, I nominate Duke, as my running mate.

I'd like to nominate Juize for trade leader, so that everyone can play a part in the game at some point. ;)

I guess that's it.
 
I think Unknown Soldier has been a great expantion deputy. Doing the job of a leader since porn left to take care of the real world things.

So I would like to nominate US as Expansion leader, if there is no problem with him.
 
Well, if there's no deputy nominations, I'd like to nominate myself to be
a trade leader. :)

And no, I don't want to be any other leader than trade or science.
 
I see my error, 2 part error. first, I forgot I nominated KD, then I skimmed through the nominations and thought he nominated himself for mil leader, unstead of unnominating himself. so I nominated hom for another position... I now withdraw BOTH nominations, at his unspoken request.

also, a current count, for me mostley, and others too as I will edit/update this list each time I logon. included, % chance of being elected to that office.

perhaps we should make runner-up in prez the vice?

That's not a bad idea....but I don't like it because we could lose too many cabinet members....and that also means that no civilians can get Pres/Vice.

I really don't care either way...if more people agree, then I can change the rule......otherwise leave it the way it is.

Well, thanks for those compliments. I am still thinking about it since I too have to care about real world, but I will accept the nomination anyway and try to get the job.

I am afraid that I will have to decline the kind nominations that have been put forward for me to become veepee. As I explained in the other thread, I don't have Civ 2 on PC any more (well, it's not working), and unless some genius can come up with a conversion system to Playstation, I won't be able to play any of the turns in case of the big boss' absence. I'd love to do it, but I think that the VP ought to be able to step in and play the game if necessary, and I erm, can't. I am quite happy to have an advisory role, but not the one I've been nominated for unfortunately. Since I don't post at weekends, then it is very likely that I will miss some important decisions and will therefore confine myself to being an ideas man. I think that AoA has a very similar strategy to mine anyway and is the best person to lead us to glory! :)
