Preturn: I do some minor MM'ing. For example, Trebizond is max size and doesn't need the floodplains, so Nicea gets them for faster growth. Also switch Constanople and Adianople to worker for a turn. They both have tons of extra food and an empty shield box, so making workers now and then when at max size seems reasonable.
If we could afford invention we could do a 2-fer, but we can't. I leave science high - maybe we will get Theology before everone else has it.
Side note: I notice we are mining tundra. Once we have engineering we can plant forests which are an extra shield. The only reason there is to mine tundra is to keep track of which ones have had forest chops. Hopefully, this is not the reason for the mines as I am going abort them (and maybe plant some forests if there are not enough already). Sorry if I am messing up someones calculations.
IBT: No Indian ships yet.
Constantanople: Worker->Pike
Adrianople: Worker->Pike
280 AD: Hmm... looking for a way between China and America... First way blocked. I amy have to go all the way around.
IBT:
Chalcedon: Worker->Library
290 AD: Find a way thru with an Indian Galley in the gap. It will get first attack (if it wants) which is too bad.
IBT: Indian Galley advances and then flees.
Constantanople: Pike->Pike
Adianople: Pike->MDI (MM'd town to 20 shields).
Dyrrachium: Worker->Trebuchet
Nicomedia: Library->Harbor
Ancyra: Worker->Harbor
Berlin finishes Leo's Workshop.
300 AD: Attack the Indian gally and win.
We enter our golden age!
Sign peace with the indians giving them Engineering for Chivalry and 16 gold.
Reverse WW affects us a little bit.
Lots of MM to match the GA. Get Constantanople up to 30 shields so it can build a Pike or Trebuchet a turn.
Also switch Adrianople to a Courthouse to see if I can get it to 35 (knight every 2 turns).
Give Inca 6 gold before I remember I was planning on spending it to rush things instead. Next time. Short rushing (where you switch to something else, rush and then switch back is something I have never tried before and this game seems suited to it.
Gold at +20 (so 30 to spend on an upgrade of a spear) Theology in 4.
IBT: We are told to leave indian waters.
Constantanople: Pike->Trebuchet (think I will alternate between the 2).
Nicea: Pike->Courthouse
Varna: Library->Courthouse
Heraclea: Library->Courthouse
310 AD: More MM - play games to get theology in 2 rather than 3. It means short term taxmen in the more corrupt cities - the 10 gold limit means there is much more opportunities for this kind of MM (normally you would have enough gold to cover a two turn shortfall.
Upgrade Spear->Pike
IBT:
Constantanople: Trebuchet->Pike
320 AD: I can lower science so I eleminate the now spurious tax collectors.
IBT: Promise we will leave Spanish waters any day now.
Learn theology. Start Education (may switch it).
Constantanople: Pike->Trebuchet
Adrianople: Courthouse->Knight
Naissus: Library->Aquaduct
Darn it, someone else learned theology the exact same turn! We probably learned it at first cost, reduced the cost so an AI got it and immediately traded it to everyone.
Hmm... it is going to be hard to upgrade any horses. we need 110 gpt to reach the 120 needed on any turn. At 0 science we are 105 (but we have 20% lux due to FP city).
Adrianople misses 35 shields by 1. I thought it would make it, but the last shield was a corrupt one

Need to finish mining the mountain. I will send in help...
Adrianople switch to a worker in the interrum. Constantanople is also growing so I do the same.
Switch Dyrrachium to an Aquaduct.
I also consider buying Invention, but do not.
IBT:
Constantanople: Worker->Trebuchet
Adrianople: Worker->Pike
340 AD: Switch Septum to a courthouse.
IBT:
Constantanople: Trebuchet->Pike
Adrianople: Pike->Knight (in 3 for the first knight)
Sardica: Library->Courthouse
Caesarea: Market->Knight
Chalcedon: LIbrary->Courthouse
350 AD: Final check of the cities.
Notes:
Adrianople is one shield short of a knight every two turns. It seemed that every nearby worker finished at once so I put them all in a stack on the mountain. Once they finish, then feel free to re-scatter them about again. I think if all the workers mine, then it should be done in "1 turn" next turn. If this means the 2 shields are applied right away, then there will be 34 shields this turn and 36 the next and you get the knight in 2 instead of 3. I am not positive if this all works, but I think it does.
As I see it we have several options:
Buy Invention and lower science.
Continue to research Education.
Switch to Printing Press.
Try to get to 120 gpt to upgrade our 14 odd horses.
Upgrade some of the other units we have lolling about (and move them German-ward).
We have:
26 workers
8 warrior
1 archer
7 spear
6 sword
14 horse
11 pike
2 Trebuchets
no knights (yet)
We are also spending 106 gpt on units so simply disbanding the warriors and regular spear might not be a bad idea - actually we could easily reach the 120 gpt with disbanding lesser units. I think this may be the best way to do things. +14 knights or so would be nice, and worth a few regular warriors
Boy we have a lot of regular units....
Forbidden palace is in 6 turns. I am building a court house or two. Check if they are really needed when the FP finishes.
I am stopping here to even out the years. That way we will go 350-450-550-etc. which is easier for me to remember.
