NoP NESII: The "New Imperialism"

To: China, Siam
From: The Empire of Japan

This is good and beneficial for all. We are willing to let Siam draw out the borders for the moment and we can continue discussion when he has presented us with a more detailed territory map.

For now, can we agree to end all hostilities between the Chinese and Japanese? Also, if we are to agree to this treaty, we must be allowed to keep enough troops in the south Korean kingdom to prevent the Chinese from adding it onto the northern one; China is, of course, welcome to do the same in northern Korea.

The ship your officials searched was not authorized by the Italian Goverment. We request the return of the ship and its crew to Italy so they may face trial for shipping military supplies without going through the proper governmental channels. We hope this mix up doesn't deteriorate our already strained relations any further.

We will return them.

However shipping through the Straits shall remain open for the time being, but military shipping is for the duration of the war banned from the straits. Any ship found in violation shall be sunk.

China is likely to agree to peace once Siam creates a map outlining concise borders.

We would be quite fine with a small Japanese garrison so as to allow Japan to maintain its influence over South Korea but not an entire army. The Korean people have suffered enough as it is and if full military deployment is maintained in this region conflict will likely rise up again in the future. So we propose that both Japan and China only garrison their respective Koreas with a maximum of 5 Divisions of any type unless directly threatened by an outside power in which case i'm sure both of our nations would be willing to allow an increase to that number.

We also would like to offer a 2 year non aggression pact to Japan if it agrees to peace. This pact can be renewed once it expires.

Peace is good, and we will likely not refuse this one; however, we await the proposed Siamese borders before fully accepting. We will accept the non-aggression pact from China and troop restrictions. We hope also that, one day, Korea may be reunited under a government that we may both agree upon.

TO CHINA AND JAPAN
FROM SIAM

Siamese peacemakers have completed a map setting the Korean borders. We hope this will be agreeable.

Also, Siam would like to propose sending 2 Divisions to the Korea's as a peace keeping force. Siam has no desire to grab land in Korea so they are of no threat to the kingdoms well being.

The Map is as following:

To: Siam, China
From: Japan

We feel these borders are good for all. A Siamese peace keeping force is not necessary, although it would be a much welcome addition to the Japanese forces in Southern Korea. We agree to both the non-aggression pact and troop limitations as well, and await only China's response to the proposed peace.

OOC: Well, then we would be getting too unoriginal... ;)

OOC: Heh... thats a hit at me.

I'm just going with what works. Besides think it makes sense, Seoul is/was the capital of Korea so would make a great Southern Capital. And the Chinese are already advanced as far as Pyongyang.

To: Siam, Japan

We accept the proposed borders outlined above. We do not believe a Siamese peace keeping force will be necessary as with our current troop restrictions niether nation will have enough troops in the region to be able to effectively war with one another.

Therefore China signs both the peace treaty and NAP. May we all have a prosperous future.

The troops are not there to seperate the Chinese and Japanese but rather to help the Koreans accept their new identity and seperation. Korea will likely have many patriots whom shall not agree with this seperation.

But if you don't feel the force is needed then it shall not be sent.

We ask you to make peace with our brothers of the faith in the Tukulor Caliphate. Men of Animist tribes will never prevail over those of the Muslim faith. It would be in the interests of your nation to surrender the captured land back to the Tukulor Caliphate.

This is most fortunate. We will be visiting shortly.

France has been a monarchy for two years. If anyone had a problem with it, they should have said something then.

Anyway, great update. Especially the bit about me taking over lots of stuff.

FROM: Austro-Hungarian Empire
TO: Balkan League
CC: European Powers

Despite being alarmed at the sudden spread of war in the region, His Majesty Franz Josef I has elected to make it known that the Austro-Hungarian Empire will not become involved in what is viewed in His nation as a regional border conflict within the Balkans. That said, given this view, His Majesty would also like to impress upon the Balkan League that the Austro-Hungarian Empire reserves the right to alter its stance on this position should the scope of the conflict widen to include other European powers. Provided such an expansion of conflict does not occur, the Austro-Hungarian Empire sees no reason to interfere, and states this position clearly as a matter of record.

The front page has been updated, including stats, rules and the "conflicts" section, including estimated casualties of the conflicts.

The player list might have some errors, and I encourage people to contact me via PM to sort any discrepancies out, otherwise it will be kept as is, and I will update it according to orders I receive next update.

I also updated some stuff on the map.

I remind everyone to send complaints via the PM box.
