Not Ragusa, Venice

Do you know the directly, I appear to be having problems with this.

Once you have what you wanna ScreenCap, press F12, you should hear a camera-ish sound.

Exit the game, a Steam pop-up should open that lists all new Screenshots

There's a button on the bottom that says "Show on Disk"

Voila.

First up, here is Riga:

...and here is the Cyan colour as in the game (with the religious city state La Venta):

I'll try and get a middle_cyan comparison.

Yes it does. And technically we haven't seen Venice either, or the color/type Mbanza Kongo is either

Does this mean we don't know what happened to Ragusa in BNW?

We know nothing of Ragusa, they could well be just a normal city state.

...I'm so sorry.

Does anyone have a screenshot of Genoa or Ragusa in Gods & Kings (or Ragusa in Vanilla)?

What have you said "yes" to?

What MBanza-Kongo's colour-type combination is has yet to be known. I don't get your point here?

I'm working to figure out if which art style Riga uses (but it appears to be European).

I'll place Genoa and Ragusa in G&K.

Yes, that we don't know anything about Ragusa as he asked.

We also don't know about the colors of Kongo, we don't know about color shifts, and we don't know if the ratios have remained the same.

I think you're taking this a little too seriously, lighten up! If I understand correctly, this doesn't even bring down your city-state colour analysis and theory, it just changes the cities involved.

Exactly. All that changes is that Italy jumps through less hoops than before.

Ancient Era Genoa and Ragusa from God and Kings at a single Pop.

Riga is defeniately using European city style (as Ragusa). because Rome and Genoa use Greco-Roman.

Colour-shifts and ratios are irrelevant at this time in terms of whether this is Venice or not. What we know is that all city states taking used colour-type combinations have been replacements.

Thank you for the screenshot.

I have clearly made a mistake with Ragusa's colour, and am I entirely responsible for this.

Below is the colour of Riga as seen in the Brave New World Screenshots:

Here is Venice's colour (as seen with La Venta, which shares the colour of Venice, but is Religious rather than Mercantile):

Finally, here is Ragusa:

As you can see, as defined by the XML, Ragusa has a difference colour to Venice, and is slightly darker. Again, I am sorry for the mix up.

Heres the SS of the city states from my game (gods and kings) , mind you it has mods.

Ragusa + venice ( conquered don't know if remain the same art)

France (looks like the art from Riga)

So its european art not greco roman.

Question to Menzies and those who are analyzing here:

So is it true that most if not all the CS replacements are, as you understand it, based also on culture group (i.e. different city styles in the American, Middle Eastern, European, etc. city styles?)? If so this might lend credence to my weak suspicion that Mbanza-Kongo replaced Marrakesh if Morocco is indeed in.

If Mbanza-Kongo is Mercentile then it is very likely replacing Marrakech/Morocco, especially since Morocco seems true.

The thing however is, Riga is not Greco-Roman but European, which would break the rule of cultural-style fitting.

But then again, they might've simply run out of City States to use in Venice's place

This is interesting, but I'm still not sure how relevant it is, as whilst the colour-type combination is conserved with replacements, it seems that Mombasa replaced Helsinki, which would mean that a Middle_East style replaced a European Style. This happened in a change of expansion, like now though.

This is still an interesting comparison shot, thank you.

Could also be a new city state all together though. Nothing to rule that out yet. Hence why I'm not trying to put Mbanza-Kongo anywhere yet. You're right though, if it were Mercantile, it could well replace Marrakech.
