NOTW XLV: The DOOM Project

thanks for the game, although it overwhelmed me as a replacement

how do you guys pronounce Jarema?

Polish-guy-with-weird-name-fixation.

Thanks for the game Dreadnought! I think Zack should be Executive Producer!

I pronouce BSmith as Bs-Smith. I know it's incorrect, but I like doing it. Also, Mosher will always be the guy in the Mosh pit.

Hell of a game!!

Even though I only got to play half of it, I loved it. Great hosting, great roles, and I really liked the story updates (especially the one with me in it :))

Overall great game. I'll watch the videos when I get to my computer later.

Just wondering, if we would've given the relics to Zack we wouldve won? You would have probably killed us all, but still. I guess I just thought that was too easy.

I guess Zack wasn't the in-game traitorous vindictive scum-sucking fiend I thought he was. Oh well.

Still loved the game.
Spoiler :
Will there be a sequel?

as for my name: it is Polish name, so it should be readed as if it has 'Y' at begining...
like:
"Yar-am-a'

I'm sure this was great after I had to be replaced. If only it hadn't taken place while I had to go to the summer camp (no regrets though, it was awesome).

Could I get a summary of the plot, please? :)

I kept reading after I was replaced. Good playing, Buddha :)

Epic game, just wished I could've finished it.

I would have, but then I just came back from another 2 week absence and was too busy to pay attention to this. :(

I left my laptop charger at work so I will post more videos as soon as possible.

As for my own commentary:

I'll be honest, it's a little depressing that the game's finished. When you work on a project for so long, it starts to become rhythmic and add definition to your schedule. It's almost like a bit of nostalgia is setting in. You see the story unfold -- like a child growing up -- and you really gain a new appreciation for the host-player relationship and the maturation of these games.

I was very, very fortunate to have an amazing cast of players, as well as Zack, to help me out. The worst fears are obviously an apathetic player base, but everyone was active and contributed. I really appreciate the time you put into this game, and the comments left afterwards.

One thing I will say: there was a remarkable amount of character development in this game, even ignoring roleplaying and other such things. I think, even beyond the scope of Mafia/NOTW, the players personally game through and really did the concept justice. It`s quite amazing what players will do even beyond their "characters". They evolved out of mere simple roles, into personifications of the players themselves. It was pretty amazing to see.

If anyone has questions, I'll be glad to answer them.

Remaining videos to upload: Game Summary, Plot Summary, Behind the Scenes Development.

*raises hand* Yeah, you appear to be saying that Zack is not an amazing player. :p

Heh, someone caught on quickly.

I pronounce them:

Tah-kih-sis
Ver-ar-day (And screw the right way, this way sounds better)
john-hugh-tom (I assume it's short for thomas or something)
Ja-ree-ma (Because it only has one r on the other places he plays)

And I don't see how you got "chux-orn" or whatever that was.

Also, I think the role list is out of alphabetical order because of the replacement players.

I was planning on grabbing some of the relics, and did at the end (I told johnhughthom about my ability, and don't think I told anyone else), but I thought dcmort could do important things with them. I wasn't going to ask for any that he was still using. And, aside from Relic #3, we didn't find any he wasn't using until the very end.

Also, Visorslash always thinks I'm scummy, so I wasn't planning on asking for his relic while he was alive. :p

Still, I'm a little disappointed that the OPFOR let me survive so long after it was obvious to everyone that I wasn't going to get lynched.
