NotW XXXI: It's a Long Story (Game Thread)

Spoiler OOC Tomfoolery :
"What's he talking about, that quiet one?"
"Dunno, hedge funds I think."
"Ah, a respectable scam. Carry on, good sir."

You see, because he's quiet, and TheForestAuro is the "whisper in the trees", and the quiet one was talking about hedges, and a hedge is a line of shrubbery, and the knights who say Ni live in TheForest, and they love shrubbery, and TheForestAuro lives in a forest while whispering quietly by the hedgerow!

It's a perfect circle, don't you see? It's funny because...

 ...I don't get it.

"Ah," the Wise Councilor said wisely, "if Sprig does not give me the money he has promised, then it's off to the gallows for him!"

sprig the staff and greaves have can, but only if I get some of the money from them. Gold I want do. The enigmatic councilor gold likes.

Sprig, I don't see how you could possibly have a use for all those items.

Another muppet, care to read what I have said.... You are making an accusation based on nothing just like the 3 before you.

LET me make it very clear

IF you have no use for the items, vote it to me and I will convert them to gold. I do not want the items themselves but the value of gold they represent.

We should divide everything evenly.

That is exactly what I said I am doing. Vote it to me and you get a share of the profits. Honestly.... Your accusation would make more sense if you said you were voting me for metagaming reasons.

Also hoping on the bandwagon does not look good for you.

"Ah," the Wise Councilor said wisely, "if Sprig does not give me the money he has promised, then it's off to the gallows for him!"

It seems some jumpy councllors do not wish for you to recieve any money.

I don't like the hoarding mindset. Sprig, you shouldn't be so greedy. As to Csargo, I am certain that your desire to have me killed is some mistake. What purpose could it rightfully serve?

Surely you don't believe this will get you killed. I only wished to provoke you into getting into the discussion.

That is exactly what I said I am doing. Vote it to me and you get a share of the profits.
If only that were true...

I'll have the gold and the greves
First 5 people that vote them to me get a share of teh profits.

(all items voted to me)

I believe you only said the first five people. As in, if I vote sixth, there's no money for me but some for everyone else. How do I know that all those people aren't just your teammates? How do I know any of the rest of us will ever get ANY share?

"I hope everyone realises that this way sprig gets to see all the items and pick those that he likes. Nobody knows how much gold he gets from the items, so he can easily hide the fact that he keeps some of them."

"Very true. Also, do we really think he can destroy all these items every turn? Seems doubtful, and if he only destroys one a turn, then by default he's keeping any extra items."

I should say I am not particuarly committed to giving the gold to Methos and would wish it could be shared amongst all, but it is a small sum, and no one has given me reason otherwise, besides not just giving it to sprig to hoard. Let him destroy the staff of the perished Empyrean spy...until tomorrow at least let someone else have use of the greaves. If I get em I'll be willing to negotiate in private, put em up for auction, or reach some other reasonable agreement.

[-] Anyone can put an item up for Auction. Simply PM me the item you intend to auction and the starting bid, and the bidding will last for an entire day. Whoever has the highest bid at the end of the period will receive the item and you will gain the money.

I think you guys missed this part. I assume this is what sprig was talking about when he said turning them into gold.

No, his ability (or so he says) is turning items into gold. Although, auctioning would be a solution.

"I'm quite learned you know. Also I just mentioned that I already know about the auctions..."

Sprig is claiming some ability to create/destroy magical enchantments on items, at least that's what it seems to me. A simple auction, that's a thing I could throw my support behind.

I am sorry I didn't see you mention auctions. I didn't know he could do that, I assumed he meant by auctioning them off he could turn them into gold.

The Dazed Councilor randomly pointed the finger at Earthling and decided to give all the items to ATPG

"ATPG is confused. He can't possibly be the bad guy."

beefy for accusing ATPG with general goodguyness.

:p

(OOC: Our flight was canceled, so I'm still around. Back to normal tomorrow.)

So your pissed that you weren't one of the first 5  That is a much better basis for an accusation. Oh well, Better luck next time.

But it is still amounts to the same as: I accuse Civplayah for not giving me all his gold.

I have already sussed you out and you know it. The simple fact is you want to horde the wealth for yourself and can’t stand that fact that I intend to distribute it. There is a lot of back chatter going around that about those that are wealthy through the exploitation of other Undercouncil members. And you are exposing yourself as one. Greed, greed, greed, It is said that the richest people are the most greedy.

And, one question. Why exactly are you supporting sprig?
I see his abilities as a potential asset, do you not? And if you're going to ask me why I'm supporting him, you might also ask the six or seven people who are voting him every item in sight the same thing.
