NotW XXXII: Siege of Evermore: Game Thread

Paulus, the Flurry, had the blasted book, and he found you out by scanning you all.

And he knew who to scan because all the Svarts were acting like Svarts and lying to us all the time.

I never lied, besides the huge "Steal the Medallion" thing, and that was Niklas' idea.

I'll post more tomorrow about how the whole thing came together if you guys do the same.

Alright Renata :).

@The Badguys

You may be interested to know that I managed to find out who had both the Massacre Book and the Esus Medallion by the second day without revealing anything about myself or using any ability. :D

Grrr. :lol:

Paulus, the Flurry, had the blasted book

And the funny thing was that I didn't even have to exert any pressure - I just bumped into him on MSN and he told me about himself and showed me the book, then I converted him the following night.

Nice work, Winston.

When you die as frequently as we do, you have to take pleasure in the small things. ;)

Btw, are you ever innocent, Auto? I was actually pretty convinced by what you said to me, and even commented to Renata that the book was probably just a harmless McGuffin (based on what you told me and what I read in the book when Paulus showed me). I really should have known better there, eh?

Oh. That was me. I had the ability to injure every three nights. If I would have known I put that much power in your hands and basically made the game twice as hard, I wouldn't have done it.

(Not to detract from Renata's excellent work, and stress probably given that everybody was probably spamming her messages all the time) It didn't matter, except maybe Niklas/landlubber might have acted differently towards Renata than other players or something so maybe they wouldn't have exposed themselves so easily.

After saving Seon, he and I at the least would have been working together/coordinating the Innocents if we could. And apparently Seon/Winston allied really early too, (and I see Winston found Paulus) so we had a solid group no matter what. Renata didn't actually have any abilities (?) and you guys never attacked Renata again did you?

In other words, it wasn't the kills, but the ridiculous plan :p you all had to go around stealing items and talking about a "Massacre" and "traitor Flurries" that virtually ZERO Non-Svarts had any reason to talk about or think existed.

Edit: And if I had been calling the shots (well, if Seon listened to me) we would probably have lynched Methos and Autolycus Days Two and Three, because it seemed likely to me Methos was guilty from the start. The three of you all voting for CivGeneral at least really was evidence for your guilt that could be publicly figured out.

Here's our QT.

Landlubber's attack on Renata was rather a surprise to us, or at least me. As to my attitude that last day, I was having too much fun. I knew I was going down and so I did my best to enjoy it on the way. For those of you who are curious, the whole time Renata and I were arguing in the threads, we both were communicating via IM about life and just anything. Even though it looked like we were angry at each other, it was just roleplay.

When the game started I was playing in five different games, so I wasn't very focused. It wasn't until later I started getting more involved and by that time I apparently had forgotten some of my lies and also had mistaken something that Renata said to me as a lie I had said. I don't recall it, but that's what Renata stated as the deciding factor.

Again, I had fun. I'll try and put up a full AAR in the next day or so.

Yeah, it's been a little while since I was innocent in an NOTW. I think the last one was XXVIII. I was innocent in the most recent MNOTW, though.
Earthling, once Krill or his agent scanned us, we had to talk about the Massacre. We also really did need to steal the items. The book was required for the Massacre, and we all actually had pretty low strength. I had strength 2 at the start, as did much of the rest of my team.

I was going to push for your lynch no matter after we ran out of other confirmed leads. (Niklas and landlubber). Autolycus might have escaped if not for the ball of lies/other associations but I dunno. Diamondeye and classical_hero did themselves no favors supporting you all when you went down - we kinda had a chain by the end. "Lynch a Svart - oh hey this person who's already suspicious fought to defend the Svart in public to the last minute" "Lynch a Svart..."

I was trying to seem annoying/uncoordinated though to not draw suspicion to myself (when half the rest of the town was being convinced by Methos, and I sided with Renata, didn't want to let the Svarts know of that connection).

I'll read through your QT I guess (way too many fake names will be a pain though) and wait for the Role PMs eventually :popcorn:

@Earthling

The Svart plan did implode fairly badly, but had a few fairly minor things gone differently early on, we might now have been praising the brilliance of their plans.

I never lied, besides the huge "Steal the Medallion" thing, and that was Niklas' idea.
From my conversation with Renata on the third night, moments before I decided to train you:
Winston Hughes said:
the only person who could come up with a ploy like that - if landlubbber's claims are false - is Niklas
Had we not been aware of just how cunning Niklas can be, you guys might well have pulled it off.

Well, I literally was NOT ALLOWED to even give away or do anything with my Medallion, so you weren't getting it from me unless they killed me ;) But yeah, Niklas and landlubber could have scraped by, if we lynched Methos and then went wrong with Bad Player/other wrong leads after that.

I'll read through your QT I guess (way too many fake names will be a pain though)

Agreed, who was using what name?

Renata's totally right, I talk too much. :sad:

@Svarts

Did landlubber not even tell you guys that we both received this PM?

civplayah said:
Winston approaches landlubber. He tells landlubber all about the Flurry. Landlubber grins.

"I know," he says, then reaches for his longbow, realizes he doesn't have it, and attacks Winston Hughes.
"Woah, what are you, a Svart?" Winston says, while fending him off. Landlubber doesn't answer.
The rest is all a blur. But, somehow, landlubber ended up injured, and Winston unharmed.

(edit - xpost but anyway) Think this is right. It's an active QT but then again weeks worth of info

Believer = Niklas
New Believer = classical_hero
Just Me = Methos
Blackguard = Diamondeye
Brute = landlubber
Theorizer = Autolycus

My comments:

-LOL that the Svarts never knew Winston was the only Flurry at the start, and trained the others. He was right to keep that to himself, and then Renata/Seon of course kept that secret safe later too.

-The Niklas-resurrecting business is still crazy. Given that was available all along (classical_hero became a Svart at the very start) the fact that they had 6 total Mafia and could resurrect one without anyone ever being told makes me more amazed that we won this one.

-Niklas stealing my item (and civplayah never being clear if I could have given it to someone else - he answered me "No" once) I can live with - overall the GMing was fine.

-[Emperor Palpatine] Your overconfidence is your weakness [/YAY waiting for Star Wars Game]
The Svarts thought way too many "inactive" players were incompetent/inactive, and seemed to think too many times they had bought themselves off with arguments/convinced Renata especially (poor Renata for all this work but then she was really in control the whole time :thumbsup:). We did a good job of keeping some Innocents in line that way.
