Now Is The Future!

What, split up the dream team on a war map!?!? I admit it would be interesting. Dogboy says he can't go on the forum in iraq so I am sending him all this information. I'll report back what he says.

I am really excited about this next game, I hope we can get it going ASAP!

(except I think 1889 is on vacation until January 18th)

Not enthusiastic. I did get BTS for Christmas and am busy learning the nuances of that.

I am open for new Vanilla games (though DogBoy is not).

hey - can we forward the latest save around 1 more time so that I can ...

a) see my victory movie :D
b) get this entered into my HOF

Thanks for the invite but I really don't want to start another PBEM right now.

I sent it to 1889. He just need to play it and send it to you ruff. I just heard from Dogboy and he is very excited about a 3vs3 game. Looks like we will need to recruit some more people!

From Dogboy via e-mail:

"Hmm, I'm not goint to play a Vanilla game. Only Warlords or higher. We could split up the teams but I really want a strong player. I don't have a lot of time to strategize so I need someone who can make recommendations, where I can just agree or disagree with them."

From me:

I really would rather play a warlords game as well. Sorry JB, nothing against you! I would love to have you involved again if you want to get warlords.

So, If JB opts not to play Ruff, it could be you, me, and Dogboy against three volunteers. What do you say about that?

The game is over but I got another save anyway, so 1934 to Dogboy.

I haven't seen my victory movie and the replay of the game - thus the final round of events.

Greetings guys! Got access to Civfanatics on this computer but will move again in a couple of days and will lose access again. Good to catch up on this reading and enjoyed this game.

Congratulations again to Ruff_hi for pulling out a win. Just so everybody knows I roleplay in these games so any actions against the Germans was roleplaying and no meanness was directed towards Ruff_hi the person, only Ruff_hi the player.

I am still available for BtS but don't have the current patch. I have two remaining games I'm in that are not patched that I won't abandon. If somebody knows the work around for patched and un-patched games for BtS (I know how to do Vanilla and Warlords) then I would like to know.

Any responses to this thread will not be read by me as I lose access to Civfanatics again in a couple of days.

Hi All. I sent a small gift to Dazz_G following his car accident and rehabilitation. I got the following in reply ...

email from Dazz_G said:
Its been a long time coming but I am at last able to reply.

[snip]

While I am still 'on the mend' , things are progressing slowly but surely. I'm told that I shouldn't need any further surgery for my injuries. From here on in its pretty much physiotherapy and rehabilitation ... its a long and difficult road to travel but I have been down a similar road a long time ago and I know I can reach my destination once again. I have only just been cleared to use a computer and watch TV ... one of the effects of my head injuries was a temporary form of extreme photosensitive epilepsy which, in the early days meant I couldn't look at a screen at all without taking a seizure. Even now, I'm being limited to 15 minutes per day while under supervision until the doctors are satisfied that the epilepsy has gone away. Needless to say, I haven't played Civ since before my accident !!!

I would appreciate it if you could let some of our friends at CFC know that I'm still hanging in there. Given time, as my restrictions are relaxed and hopefully I'm not feeling so constantly exhausted, I shall be returning to CFC and the PBEM world but that is for another day. Until then, I shall keep in touch as much as I can.

Greetings to all! I have access to these forums again. Still over here in Iraq but the system I'm on now allows access to this website.

Dazz_G, hope you are feeling better. I didn't hear you were in an accident. Hope you are doing better and are well on your way to a recovery.

Thanks Dogboy. I am recovering but am finding the daily physio/rehab very hard going. I went through a similar program when I was just 16 years old following a severe spine injury while playing rugby but at 37 its a whole different ballgame. Still, I count my blessings that I am still around to make a recovery.

I have to say I am touched. I have never experienced anything like what you guys in the US military, or our guys in the UK forces, must be going through in Iraq and for you to take time to show concern for me really means something. I sincerely thank you.
