Indonesian fighters fly over unopposed

Canberra, The Republic of Indonesia- Sensing that it was falling behind its neighbors in terms of prestige, power, and economics, the nation of Indonesia has taken a bold step towards its future status with a massive naval build up and launched an assault on Australia’s eastern coast. Relying on faulty intelligence, the Indonesians intended attempted to wipe out the Australian air force, which at this point had relocated to Hawaii. Though failing to take the air force out, Australia lay naked to Indonesian troops, which were able to completely march unopposed on the East Coast, and the Australian government has been forced to relocate to Tasmania so that resistance between Western Australia and New Zealand. The Indonesians are in an incredible mood after this victory, while the Australians are near the brink. Their army, navy, and fleet are months away in Hawaii, which the people have now decried as a worthless imperial venture that left the homeland undefended. The Syndicalist Government is under massive pressure internally, and many commentators are wondering if the Australians will be able to recover. At the very minimum, the Australians will be unable to field an army until Easter, and the First Union Marines will be unavailable for even longer. However, even with the possibility of recovery, the loss of Canberra has definitely put a major psychological blow on the Australian people, and many are openly talking of surrender, with the feeling that a counter attack may be impossible. The Indonesian Navy is now the strongest in the world, and can easily block any attempt for Australia’s forces to return home, and in a war dominated by the naval theater, this may prove to be a decisive advantage.

DEAD RED REDEMPTION?

The USS John McCain sinks to the bottom of the sea

St. Louis, The United States of America- The Second Mexican American War has continued on into autumn, and casualties have continued to mount for both sides. With both armies just outside of their respective air force’s control, the two forces were engaged in an incredibly high stakes staring contest, one which could very well seal victory for either side. Ultimately though, it would be Mexico that would blink, calling off the assault on Washington D.C. and calling for retreats in St. Louis as well, so that the Mexican forces might be better supported in air cover, and seizing the initiative, the Americans went on the attack. Raleigh and St. Louis were near immediately liberated upon the retreat of Mexican troops. The 2nd Revolutionary Guards retreated from St. Louis in hopes of attacking in Florida to wipe out the American Air Force, but the American 1st Army had other plans, and set sail towards Florida to protect the air wing. With the Mexican fleet catching word of this movement, they immediately moved to counteract it, forcing the American 1st Fleet, at this point composing solely of the recently repaired supercarrier USS John McCain, to fight to save the marines. The American sailors and pilots fought with a special inspiration, and were able to hold off the Mexican carrier and destroyer, forcing the Mexican submarines to engage the American carrier instead of the Marine transports. The John McCain was able to sink both the Mexican carrier and destroyer, the Americans were brought down by the Mexican submariners, though the 1st Army had landed in Florida safely due to the extra time bought. The Mexican 2nd Revolutionary Guard, undermanned, undertrained, and anticipating only minor resistance, was nearly wiped out by the American 1st Army, and was forced to retreat. In the east, the US 2nd Army decided to take the initiative and harass the retreating Mexicans. The Mexican 1st Revolutionary Guards had hoped to retreat towards Florida, but were forced to take defensive positions in the suburbs of Atlanta. The US 2nd Army, bolstered by a score of new draftees and supported by several new Fighter wings, launched an all out assault on Mexican positions. Mexican tanks and helicopters would initially put the battle in Mexico’s favor, but the US troops never faltered, and its close air support would eventually sacrifice itself to take out the Mexican helicopter support. The Mexicans would win the air battle in Atlanta against a rejuvenated American Air Force, but as the fighting moved to the Atlanta downtown, American troops could use building cover to set up anti tank weaponry to beat back Mexican armor. Both sides sustained heavy losses, and the Mexican troops, seeing their ultimate intended operation spoiled with the defeat of the 2nd Revolutionary Guards, opted to retreat, setting up defensive positions along the Mississippi River. Fortified by both Mexican armies and their air force, it seems it will be a difficult force to overrun, especially with the lack of American bombers or strike fighters. In any case, the mounting casualties and the precarious financial position of both countries has caused some rumblings for peace. In the United States, though General Westinghouse was removed, his replacement with another American general and Donald Trump Junior has not exactly won the hearts of reformers, and the sudden resignation of Westinghouse has caused some loyalists to question the new regime, though the rank and file soldiers, and even most of the draftees, have opted to stay loyal to the Army’s high command. There has been some reversal of popularity with the capture of Atlanta, and the liberations of the Midwest, and it is hoped that with the US troops out of the Rocky Mountains, the Pacific Coast will be liberated soon enough, especially due to the region’s relatively harmless winter. Still, there is some increasing discomfort with the complete loss of Cuba, and with the fact that many Americans are living under the Mexican bootheel during Christmas. For the Mexicans, the war is still relatively popular, and even among those who wish for peace, most want to see a peace with some former Mexican territory returned to the Worker’s Republic. However, the decision to not continue with an attack upon Washington and its loss of Atlanta, along with St. Louis and Denver, has caused some to worry that the Americans have finally recovered from the brutal first Mexican strike. Even worse is the upcoming fiscal cliff in both the spring and summer, and many are worried that if the war continues, families will suffer. Most Mexicans though continue to hope that their forces can reverse centuries of humiliations at the hands of the Yankees, and are willing to bear hardships in exchange for victory.

BLOODY CONFLICT IN CHILE!

Argentine howitzers prepare to shell Chilean positions

Santiago, Empire of Argentina- Mere months after assuming his crown, Emperor Ignacio of Argentina has sought to add a jewel to his crown; Chile, one of the most powerful South American nations, possibly third to Brazil and Argentina. The Tigers, elite mountain troops, first made their assault upon the Chilean capital of Santiago, where a gruesome battle went underway. The Chilean troops fought well, and in the skies, Chilean air superiority would force the Argentine First Aerial Division to ground. Still, Argentine discipline and training held firm, and even with Chilean gunship support, the Chileans were forced to withdraw from the capital, giving the Emperor his first victory of the war. However, it was a costly one, and experts feel that unless Argentina is able to establish its air superiority once more, the Chilean troops may be able to regroup and launch a counter attack. Even worse, the Brazilian Emperor has denounced the invasion, and some are postulating that the Brazilians may decide to press the undefended Argentine border.

Australia occupies Hawaii
Honolulu, The Syndicalist Union of Australia

A surprise attack months in the waiting has finally taken place, when Australian troops after a long Pacific trek have at last landed in American Hawaii unopposed. The locals immediately surrendered to the Australian forces, who took over the American facilities for the Australian air force and navy. While in the United States, this has been seen as yet another blow against the military regime struggling to keep control of its territory, but in Australia, in light of the Indonesian invasion, it has been seen as a ridiculous move. Many analysts are simply confused at what the fate of the islands will be, whether the Australians continue to occupy them, or if they leave. And if they leave, will the locals simply change the flags back to the Stars and Stripes, or perhaps even a variation on it? For now, the locals seem completely unfazed, and many are continuing on with their normal lives.

Kazakhstan conquered
Astana, People’s Republic of China

Though it took nearly all of 2035, the People’s Republic of China has at last annexed Kazakhstan. With Kazakh troops on the defense and the Chinese dominant in the skies, the PLA was able to easily surround the city of Astana, with the Kazakh troops digging in. Guns were freely distributed to the people in preparation for the Chinese assault. However, instead of launching an all-out assault, Chinese troops prefered to bomb Astana into submission. Bombers and artillery pounded the city, and many civilians opted to leave rather than die from shrapnel or starvation. As December continued on though, the Chinese generals were determined to be able to have a victory parade for the Chinese New Year, and eventually launched an all out assault on the city. The Kazakh held out for a few days, and with well placed anti armor units in narrow city streets, but in the end they were overwhelmed, and the Chinese flag soon flew over all of the once formerly glorious Central Asian nation.

Treaty of Minsk Signed
Minsk, European Concordat

With a decisive victory in Western Russia and Belarus, Europe and Russia have at last been able to reach a peace agreement. Kalingrad, keeping its name, has been brought in as an administrative territory for the EC, though there has been some anger about its exclusion from the wider democracy of Europe. For Belarus, a new pro European government has been created and accepted membership in the Concordat, which has divided national opinion. While most of the Belarusian population was lukewarm at best for the prospect of annexation into Russia, the people of the region would identify stronger with Moscow than they would with Berlin. While die hard local nationalists and pro Russian protests have continued, many understand that Europe is the power of the local region, and are more interested in becoming rich in the new system rather than looking back. For the Europeans, the victory was applauded as an excellent check on Russian objectives, and casualties were minimal, but there were some that felt that a further cutting down of Russia was needed. In Russia itself, President Barkhow has silenced all criticism of his regime, and has brutally supressed any who might oppose him, but there are some, even within the Socialist Party, who feel he has failed the motherland and must be removed. However for now, the Russians have distracted themselves with a new foreign adventure.

Islamic State welcomed in Libya
Tripoli, The Islamic State

Following the rising of pro-IS militants in Libya, the soldiers of the Caliph have determined that the people of Libya should “embrace the will of Allah” and were able to begin an invasion of the country. With many Libyan generals taking bribes to switch sides, the conflict was pathetically one sided, and soon the flag of the Islamic State was soon flying over Tripoli. Now, others in the region of North Africa are worried as the Caliph begins flexing his muscles, though some are admiring the stability that the Caliph has brought to the war torn country.

Cuba Libre!
Havana, Worker’s Republic of Cuba

With the Second Mexican-American war raging in the American homeland, the United States has had absolutely no resources to spare to put down the Cuban rebellion. With a small arms shipment, the Cuban rebels have been able to oust the skeleton American occupational authority and have completely freed the island from the Yankees. Hardline communists led the rebellion, and have since declared a new Worker’s Republic, in the vein of the first Castro, a hero to many. Though the American people are considerably more concerned about the events on the mainland, the loss of the Cuban economy’s assets, not to mention the dissent it has begun triggering in Jamaica, has caused many Americans to wonder if victory is possible against Mexico at this rate, even with the recent gains by the US.

Philippines brought into the Japanese fold
Davao City, Technocratic Directorate of Neo Japan

Though the Japanese campaign had stalled initially this year, it seems that under Senku Akatoshi, the Philippines have now been brought to heel. Using a combined arms assault of aerial, land, and naval units, the last holdouts of the Philippines were bombarded and then assaulted. The Filipinos fought bravely, and Japanese troops described entering buildings as “being confronted by a flurry of flying, angry chickens”, but in the end the Filipinos were no match for the Japanese, and now must learn to live underneath Akatoshi Hotaru and her puppet Visayas Directorate.

Chad brought into West African Federation
N’djamena, Federal Republic of West Africa

This fall, the Federal Republic of West Africa determined that Chad would be an excellent new addition to their federation. Troops from the GGLA 1st Division quickly overran the Chadian military, and the capital fell quickly with little bloodshed. This now gives the Federal Republic of West Africa a border with the Islamic State.

Brazil brings down Guyana
Georgetown, Imperio de Brazil

Brazil has at last brought the last of the Guineas into its empire, with their victory at Georgetown. While the Guyanans had tried to fight back, the pure number of Brazilian troops was simply too much for the Guyanans and they were forced to surrender to the Emperor’s forces. Plans have been drawn up to rename Georgetown to “Pedroville” though no announcements have been made as of yet.

Russia storms into Georgia

Tbilisi, United Socialist Federation of Russia

Looking to recover from their humiliating defeat in Belarus and expand the struggling Russian economy, the USFR went straight into another war, once again with another former Soviet republic. The Russian Air Force was completely out of range, however Russian heavy firepower and helicopter support was more than enough to defeat the Georgians, though Russian infantrymen, as usual, suffered the brunt of the assault. The 2nd Russo-Georgian War ended in a complete victory for the USFR, and it has added some confidence that the Russian military still has a semblance of pride. More than anything though, it has added a measure of confidence once more in the Russian economy, and creditors are hoping that Russia continues to expand into the Caucasus regions.

Nyanza continues assault into Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, Nyanza

After taking a season to recuperate its losses, Nyanzan forces have begun the Fall campaign season in earnest. Reestablishing air superiority and bolstering its ground armor, Nyanzan troops fought a major battle outside the Ethiopian capital, one which lasted an entire week. Ethiopian troops fought very well, and their sheer numbers nearly overwhelmed the Nyanzan positions, but in the end, Nyanza’s air and armor superiority was too much for the Ethiopians to handle. A retreat was forced, and many feel that the Ethiopians are no longer in a position to challenge Nyanzan troops on an even footing.

Bangladesh Campaign at an end
Dhaka, Republic of India

At long last, India has been able to achieve victory in Bangladesh. With its airpower concentrated in the west, India reinforced its armies with a large number of new infantry and launched a major assault on Bangladeshi positions in the southwest. Indian troops went on an all out offensive, overrunning the Bangladeshi positions, and at last forcing the Bangladeshi government to surrender. For some Bangladeshi, this has been a cause for major celebration, however there are many in the Indian government who have advised for the need to keep a heavy military police detachment in the region to ensure that the nation’s large Muslim population does not clash with Hindu India. For now though, the victory has triggered mass celebrations in India, and many are openly calling for a new war to bring Pakistan into the Indian nation.

Madagascar Subdued

Antananarivo, African Federation

With the African Federation’s forces smelling a trap as they moved into the Madagascar interior, the Federation’s top military planners opted to instead wait for reinforcement from the mainland. Madagascar’s soldiers had hoped to draw the 5th Marines further into the island in order to overwhelm the small, unarmored force, but the marines halted, and then with the arrival of the 1st Army of the Federation, the African Federation had the numbers and firepower to launch an all out assault that would devastate the small island’s forces. Madagascar has been subdued, and the African Federation has scored yet another victory.

What a fun turn. Sorry guys I'm taking the rest of the night off to drive after the map is done. Stats will come in tomorrow.

I have been asked about intelligence assets and the potential to make a spy agency. You will be able to develop intelligence assets with technologies, such as Advanced Software and Space Travel :)

@Warrior yes your fleet is not on the map, it still exists but I was not able to put it on I'm sorry. It will not be fixed until Monday, but it is there near Madagascar.

Good update, one again.

War be expensive and stuff.

From: Argentina
To: Brazil

We are merely acting in accordance to the Treaty of Montevideo. This treaty was signed by the Emperor of Brazil himself and was proposed and drafted by himself. We merely agreed to this treaty, we did not take any part in writing it down. You yourself drafted this treaty and proposed it to us, so why do you not act in accordance to it? Has Argentina ever protested to you conquests? No, because they were in accordance to the treaty. You should do the same with us.

If you do break this treaty you drafted and proposed to us, who will ever trust Brazil? And who will want to make any treaty with a nation of traitors?

Hope that logic prevails.

Excellent update <nuke>!

From: the United States of America

We have driven you back. Your so-called advantage is collapsing. We once again offer you peace at the terms offered before -a return to the status quo ante bellum, and the total withdrawal of all support from the rebels in Cuba.

We will not be so merciful in future. Reject these terms at your own peril.
